Playmobil Detectives: Revenge of the Ghost Samurais-3 摩比神探：鬼武士的復仇-3

"Why did you suddenly want to come over to China?" Shaun Lee, a freshman studying Physics in university in England, inquired his friend, Jeffrey Donovan, a History student who had been his flatmate for the past year, on the flight back to Shaun's hometown- Beijing.

「你為什麼突然想來中國呀？」在英國的大學就讀物理系的大一新生～李孝恩在回去家鄉～北京的飛機上詢問他的英國朋友～傑佛瑞・多諾溫，一名歷史學生，也是他這一年來的室友。

"Oh, it's just for this project that I am doing over the summer holidays," Jeffrey replied with a carefree tone, "And, anyways, I have always been quite interested in the history of China. I especially love all the magic and prophecies of the Ancient Chinese. I mean, even the lunar calendar itself is really interesting."

「噢，就是為了寫那個在放完暑假後要完成的報告呀！」傑佛瑞回答道。「況且，我從小就對中國歷史非常感興趣。我特別喜歡古中國的巫術以及占卜術。更何況，就連中國的陰曆都超有意思的！」

"Well then, if that is indeed the case, I am afraid you'll be quite disappointed before the end of your stay," Shaun, as a science student, have never believed in magic, "Whatever magic you were thinking (if they actually existed), have been all left in the past. Now, China's different to what it used to be, especially Beijing and Shanghai, which are now one of the most modern cities in the world."

「如果真是這樣的話，你可能會大失所望了！」學科學的孝恩從來都不曾相信過魔法。「就算那些你所謂的巫術曾經存在過，也都已經被遺留在過去了！現在的中國和以前不一樣了，尤其是北京和上海，都是世界上數一數二的摩登都市呢。」

"Hmmmm, we'll see then...." Jeffrey replied, preoccupied by the movie he was watching.

「嗯，是這樣呀........」專注在看電影的傑佛瑞心不在焉的回答道。

After getting off the plane and getting a taxi to leave the airport, the two friends arrived at Shaun's home. 

下了飛機並叫了計程車離開機場的兩個朋友來到了孝恩的家。

"Wow!" Jeffrey admired as he glanced at the picturesque home of Shaun, which was a traditional Chinese-style building, "How nostalgic! You are very fortunate to live in one of these."

「哇！」傑佛瑞不禁讚歎著映入眼簾的景色～孝恩的老家完全是中國傳統的四合院建築。「好復古啊！能住在這種房子裏真幸運！」

"Well, fortunate or not, I don't know. But, what I do know is that there are some real disadvantages of living in an official historical monument that had been like that ever since my ancestors' time some eight hundred years ago." Shaun responded, "For one, we are not allowed to change its exterior appearance, and it's a real bother when things are constantly breaking after such a long time of being used, maintaining it is just a catastrophe."

「幸不幸運我是不知道啦！但是，我知道住在這種從我的祖先就遺留下來，被國家封為古蹟的房子裏也有諸多的不便。」孝恩回答道。「比如說，我們不能隨意更改外觀。還有，常常有一些地方年久失修，不知何時會坍塌，光是修補這些就有得頭疼的了！」

After entering Shaun's home, Jeffrey was astonished to discover that the interior design was completely opposite to that of the exterior, the inside was extremely modern, if it wasn't for some beautiful Chinese paintings and calligraphy writings here and there, there were absolutely no signs of them living in such a historical building. 

進入孝恩家後，傑佛瑞驚訝地發現內部的裝潢和外面簡直是天差地別，內部的裝潢超級摩登，若不是有一些古代的字畫點綴著，真的完全看不出來置身在如此歷史悠久的建築物裏。

Jeffrey first greeted Shaun's mother, who was a very traditional woman, wearing Chinese traditional dress- Qipao. Then, he greeted Shaun's father, who wore a formal western-style suit with a tie.

傑佛瑞先和孝恩的母親打招呼，他的媽媽是位穿著很傳統的人，在家裏還穿著旗袍。再來是孝恩的爸爸，他穿著西裝、還打了領帶。

After sitting down on the comfortable and luxurious sofa, the two friends perceived Shaun's mum walking towards them, hands holding a tray with some sliced pieces of pineapple. 

兩個好朋友才剛坐下來，就看到孝恩的媽媽手中端著一盤削好的鳳梨出來。

"In China, we see pineapple as a form of good luck, whenever we have guests, we always serve them pineapples, meaning to wish them luck." Shaun's mother said in a silky voice, "And besides, pineapples are also a very healthy fruit that contains a lot of vitamins that are excellent for our digestive system."

「在中國，鳳梨的另一個名稱是『旺來』，所以我們相信，多吃鳳梨會帶給我們好運。只要我們有客人，一定會削一盤鳳梨給他們吃，祝福他們有好運氣。」孝恩的媽媽用她絲綢般的聲音說。「更何況，鳳梨有豐富的維他命，是一個很健康的食物，有助於我們消化。」
