那晚的午夜時分，傑佛瑞一聽到音樂響起後，便立馬坐了起來。這次的音樂聲比前一天晚上更大聲了。

Ce soir-là, à minuit, Jeffrey s'assit au lit en entendant la musique jouer à nouveau. Cette fois, c'était encore plus fort que la nuit précédente.

That evening, at midnight, Jeffrey sat up in bed as he heard the music playing again. This time, it was even louder than the previous night.

突然，傑佛瑞有了好主意。「你跟我想的一樣嗎？」他問道。

「我怎麼會知道你在想什麼呢？」孝恩開玩笑地答道。

「你也懷疑那個茱蒂嗎？」傑佛瑞問道。

「她的行為實在太可疑了！」孝恩說。「她喜歡偷聽，還故意講那個不怎麼有說服力的鬼故事，就算是新手偵探都很難不懷疑她。我們得讓她把知道的都招了。問題是：要怎麼做？」

「我有點子！」傑佛瑞興奮地回答說。「我們叫她上來，告訴她我們找到了鋼琴，並看她的表情。如此一來，就算她想開溜，也無處可逃。只是，我們能如何把她引上來，卻又不事先透露出任何事情呢？」

Soudainement, Jeffrey avait une idée. "Tu penses ce que je pense?" Demanda-t-il.

"Cela dépend de ce que tu penses!" répondit Shaun, en plaisantant.

"Tu soupçonne aussi Judy?" demanda Jeffrey.

"Eh bien, ses actions sont trop méfiants pour que nous ne le fassions pas", répondit Shaun. "Avec son écoute secret et son histoire d'horreur peu convaincante, même un détective débutant la suspecte. Nous devons donc voir ce qu'elle sait ... mais la question est: comment?"

"J'ai une idée", répondit Jeffrey avec enthousiasme: "Nous allons l'appeler et lui dire que nous avons trouvé le piano, puis regardons sa réaction. De cette façon, même si elle essaie d'échapper, il n'y a aucun moyen. Mais comment l'emmener ici sans la prétendre au préalable?"

Suddenly, Jeffrey had an idea. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" he enquired.

"Well, that depends on what you're thinking!" Shaun responded, jokingly.

"Do you also suspect that Judy?" queried Jeffrey.

"Well, her actions are way too fishy for us not to," replied Shaun, "With her eavesdropping and unconvincing horror story, even a newbie detective will suspect her. So we've gotta see how much she knows....the question is: how?"

"I've got an idea," answered Jeffrey, excitedly, "We'll call her up and tell her we've found the piano, then look at her reaction. That way, even if she tries to escape, there's no way out. But how do we get her here without letting her suspect anything beforehand?"

史華斯一家離開後，神探們有一整天的時間可以繼續昨晚未完成的調查。他們決定從最可疑的地方找起，也就是那間有著聖誕樹的房間。

來到小小的閣樓房間後，孝恩才驚覺到其實它並不小！由於昨晚光線不足的緣故，孝恩才没有察覺到原來房間非常的深；並且，在房間的最深處，有著一堆貌似用布蓋起來的雜物。還有，房間的深處並不像前面一樣這麼一塵不染，很顯然的，女僕在打掃房間時也没注意到它如此的深。

Après le départ des Schwarzs, les détectives passeraient une journée entière à eux-mêmes, alors ils ont décidé de revenir à leurs recherches inachevées de la veille. Naturellement, ils commencèrent avec la salle dont ils se sentaient le plus méfiant - l'une avec l'arbre de Noël. En arrivant au petit grenier, Shaun découvrit avec étonnement que ce n'était, en fait, pas «petit» du tout! En raison du manque de lumière lors de son examen préalable de la salle, Shaun ne remarqua pas que la pièce était extrêmement profonde; et, situé à l'extrémité la plus éloignée, il y avait une pile d'objets couverts d'un chiffon. En outre, la partie la plus distante de la pièce n'était pas aussi exempte de poussière que la partie avant, ce qui peut indiquer qu'elle n'avait pas été remarquée par la femme de ménage quand elle la ménageait non plus.

After the departure of the Schwarzs, the detectives now had a whole day to themselves, so they've decided to return to their unfinished investigations of the previous evening. Naturally, they commenced with the room of which they felt most suspicious- the one with the Christmas Tree. 

On reaching the small attic-room, Shaun discovered in amazement that it was, in fact, not 'small' at all! Due to the lack of light during his previous examination of the room, Shaun failed to notice that the room was extremely deep; and, situated at the farthest end, there was a pile of objects that were covered by a piece of cloth. Moreover, the farther part of the room was not as dust-free as the front part, which may denote the fact that it hadn't been noticed by the maid when she was cleaning it, either.

那天早上，茱蒂按約定地六點準時抵達別墅爲神探們準備早餐。兩人把握機會和她敍述了一遍前一晚所發生的事情。「嗯....茱蒂...我可以這樣稱呼妳嗎？你在打掃這裏時，有没有看過一臺鋼琴呢？」傑佛瑞試圖用『美男計』讓女僕把知道的都説出來。

「其實，我很少打掃這裏，因爲史華斯一家也不曾住過這兒。」女僕簡短地答道。「我只有打掃過一次，那是他們準備搬進來時的事了。但是，我祇有打掃一些特定房間，就是那些他們打算使用的而已。我並没有看到有鋼琴。可是，其餘的房間，我就不好説了。」

「那妳可曾聽説過這棟宅子的歷史？」孝恩問道。

茱蒂臉上的表情頓時變得極度的嚴肅，她觀看了看四周，確定四下無人後開始用著神秘的語調説：「我聽説：幾百年前，這裏曾經住了一位很有名的鋼琴家。然而，有天他離奇的死亡了，可是没人能找出死因，或是猜出殺人兇手。」

Le matin, Judy, la femme de ménage, arriva à six heures comme promis pour préparer le petit-déjeuner pour les détectives, qui saisirent cette occasion pour raconter les événements de la nuit précédente. "Um, Judy, puis-je t'appeler ça? Tandis que tu nettoyait la maison, est-ce que tu as découvert un piano ici?" demanda Jeffrey, tentant de charmer la dame pour dire ce qu'elle savait déjà.

"Eh bien, j'ai à peine nettoyé cette maison, car les Schwarz n'ont jamais vécu ici", répondit sèchement la femme de ménage, "je l'ai simplement nettoyée une fois, et c'est à ce moment-là qu'ils envisagent de déménager ici. Mais j'ai seulement nettoyé quelques pièces, les quelles ils prévoyaient fréquenter, et je n'ai pas vu aucun piano. En effet, je n'ai aucune connaissance du reste de la maison."

"Alors, sais-tu quelque chose sur son histoire?" demanda Shaun.

Sans préavis, l'expression sur le visage de Judy devenait extrêmement solennelle, elle jeta un coup d'œil comme pour s'assurer que personne ne l'écoutait, puis elle murmurait dans un ton mystérieux. "J'ai entendu dire que, il y a des centaines d'années, ce lieu était habité par un pianiste très célèbre. Cependant, un jour, il est mort d'une mort mystérieuse, que personne ne pouvait découvrir aucune preuve de sa cause ou qui l'avait tué".

In the morning, Judy the maid arrived at six o'clock as promised to prepare breakfast for the detectives, who took this opportunity to recount the happenings of the previous night to her. "Um, Judy, may I call you that? Whilst you were cleaning the house, did you ever come across a piano of any sort here?" Jeffrey inquired trying to charm the lady into telling what she already knew.

"Well, I barely ever cleaned this house, as the Schwarzs have never lived here," the maid replied curtly, "I have only cleaned it once, and that's when they were planning to move here. But I have only cleaned a few rooms, in which they planned to frequent; and haven't seen any piano. Indeed, I have no knowledge about the rest of the house."

"Then, do you know anything about it's history?" Shaun queried.

Without warning, the expression on Judy's face turned extremely solemn, she glanced around as if ensuring that no one was listening, then she whispered in a mysterious tone. "I've heard that, hundreds of years ago, this place was inhabited by a very famous pianist. However, one day he died a mysterious death, which no one could discover any evidence of either its cause or who had killed him."
