"Follow me," Querida said as she beckoned Cindy to follow her up the stairs and into her own private study, then, the former walked towards the fireplace, and pointed to two ancient grandfather clocks next to it. 

「跟著我走！」可麗妲說。於是，莘蒂便跟著她的阿姨來到了後者的書房。然後，可麗妲走向火爐，並指著放置在火爐旁的兩座老爺鐘。

"So? What am I supposed to be looking at? Two broken pieces of trash that should've been thrown away two centuries ago?" Cindy inquired with her eyebrows raised. 

「然後呢？你叫我看這些兩世紀前就應該被拋棄的破鐘要幹嘛？」莘蒂眉毛上揚的問道。

"Do not regard these clocks with scorn!" Querida snapped, "They are in fact the clock to time travel. They can reverse time, so YOU will be the one married to the prince instead of your stepsister....."

「別小看這兩座鐘！」可麗妲大聲說道。「它們可以帶你逆轉時光。如此一來，王子娶的人就會是你，而不是你那沒血緣關係的姊姊.....」

That evening, Gabriella eventually had time to rest on the coach of the drawing room. Just as she sat down, the Queen and her daughters arrived at the drawing room after their dinner. 

那天晚上，嘉碧拉終於有時間休息，坐在客廳的沙發上。她才剛坐下，皇后和她的女兒們用餐完畢，隨後也進入了客廳。

Suddenly, Charlotte and Caroline began to giggle violently, the confused Gabriella had no idea what was going on. 

突然，夏綠蒂和凱洛琳開始大笑了起來，疑惑的嘉碧拉完全不知道現在究竟是什麼情形。

After some time, it was Charlotte, still giggling, who broke the suspense, "Mamma, look at her face! It's black with cinder! Is this some sort of cosmetics of the latest technology- smothering your face with cinder? Hahahaha!"

過了一會兒後，夏綠蒂才邊笑邊說：「媽，妳瞧她的臉！被灰燼弄得烏漆抹黑的。難道把灰抹在臉上是最新科技研發出的化妝品嗎？哈哈哈哈！」

As Gabriella entered the kitchen, Sandy, the kitchen maid, having perceived her entrance, said sarcastically, "I see that it has taken you quite a while to get dressed, Princess Gabriella. As you can see, we are well under way in preparation for luncheon. It is just as well that you arrived at this moment in time, I have some dishes for you to wash!" 

當嘉碧拉走進廚房時，廚娘珊迪用很酸的語氣說：「公主殿下，看來，你今天花了不少時間打扮啊？如你所見，我們早已開始準備午餐了。不過你來得還真是時候，我剛好有一些碗盤要你清洗。」

Meanwhile, in the palace, Gabriella was standing by the bedside of her husband.

此時，王宮裏的嘉碧拉正站在丈夫的床邊。

"Henry, please do wake up! It is nearly ten in the morning and everyone is waiting for you to eat breakfast!"

「亨利，請起床呀！現在已經快要十點了，大家都在等你吃早餐呢！」

"O shut up, you ignorant woman! How many times have I told you not to talk to me in the morning? And who has given you my permission to call me by my Christian name? You have no right! Call me 'Your Highness'!" the prince snapped before covering his face with the blanket, having no intention at all to wake up, and growled. "Get lost!"

「給我閉嘴，你這個庸婦！要我跟你講幾次：早上別跟我說話？還有，是誰准許你叫我的名諱？妳沒有這個權利！叫我『殿下』！」王子一邊罵道，一邊用棉被蓋住臉，絲毫沒有要起床的念頭，大喊道：「滾開！」

Once upon a time, there was a witch, who was famous for casting spells in the form of questions, thus being known as Querida the Question Witch. One grey, cloudy morning, Querida woke up from an unrestful sleep and was feeling extremely moody. Therefore, after getting dressed, she glided down the staircase into her drawing room where there stood a portrait. However, it was no ordinary portrait.

從前從前，有一個以問問題來施展魔咒而出名的巫女，她名為『問題巫婆可麗妲』。一個陰暗、烏雲罩頂的早晨，可麗妲一早起來感到心情特別不好；於是，換完衣服後，她便衝下樓梯來到裏面放著一幅畫像的客廳。然而，那並不只是幅普通的畫像。

"O Knowledgeable portrait in the hall, tell me: who's the happiest of them all?" Querida inquired the portrait, which replied with the utmost solemnity. 

「噢，博學的畫像啊！告訴我：誰是世界上最幸福的人？」可麗妲問道。

"Certainly not thee, Querida! There are plenty out there who are happier than thee!"

「絕對不會是你呀，可麗妲。這世上比你幸福的人多的是呢！」畫像以嚴肅的表情回答道。
