Meanwhile, in the palace, Gabriella was standing by the bedside of her husband.
此時，王宮裏的嘉碧拉正站在丈夫的床邊。
"Henry, please do wake up! It is nearly ten in the morning and everyone is waiting for you to eat breakfast!"
「亨利，請起床呀！現在已經快要十點了，大家都在等你吃早餐呢！」
"O shut up, you ignorant woman! How many times have I told you not to talk to me in the morning? And who has given you my permission to call me by my Christian name? You have no right! Call me 'Your Highness'!" the prince snapped before covering his face with the blanket, having no intention at all to wake up, and growled. "Get lost!"
「給我閉嘴，你這個庸婦！要我跟你講幾次：早上別跟我說話？還有，是誰准許你叫我的名諱？妳沒有這個權利！叫我『殿下』！」王子一邊罵道，一邊用棉被蓋住臉，絲毫沒有要起床的念頭，大喊道：「滾開！」
As Gabriella descended the staircase after quitting the bed-chamber, she accidentally overheard the conversation between Charlotte and Caroline, the two sisters of Prince Henry.
嘉碧拉走出房間，從下樓梯時，不小心聽到了王子的兩個姊姊：夏綠蒂和凱洛琳的對話。
"I've heard that her mother was a widow who remarried to a wealthy merchant, who also died after several years." Caroline, the elder of the two, whispered loudly in the hallway.
「我聽說她媽媽是個寡婦，再嫁給了一個有錢的商人。結果，那個商人沒幾年後也死了！」大姊凱洛琳大聲地說道。
"Indeed? What if her entire family was cursed? O Caroline, I don't want to die yet!" Charlotte suddenly broke into a violent fit of sobbing, which was immediately stopped by her sister's insult, "O will you quit crying? You look very much like a pig when you cry!"
「是嗎？莫非她們一家都是掃把星？還是他們都被詛咒了？噢，姊～我現在還不想死啊！」夏綠蒂說著說著便開始嚎啕大哭了起來，但是馬上被姊姊的辱罵給制止了。「你可以不要哭嗎？你哭起來還真像隻母豬呢！」
"Plus that Gabriella sure is excessively plain....." Caroline continued unmercifully.
「而且那個嘉碧拉長得還真是普通啊！」凱洛琳繼續說道。
"...And without any sense of fashion whatsoever!" Charlotte added disdainfully.
「⋯⋯而且一點兒也不時尚！」夏綠蒂不屑地說。
"I really do not understand Henry's taste for women sometimes......" Caroline replied, "The last girl was as thin as a stick, and this one, as rustic as a country girl!"
「有時我還真不懂亨利對女人的眼光啊！」凱洛琳答道。「上次那個是瘦得如竹竿，這次的則是個土氣的鄉巴佬！」
"Speaking of which, she is here!" Charlotte said as she glared at the poor Gabriella, who stood stone-still, flabbergasted by the criticisms, on the staircase.
「真是說曹操曹操到，你看她出現了！」夏綠蒂瞪著站在樓梯上，被這麼殘忍的批評給嚇儍了的嘉碧拉。
"I beg your pardon for overhearing your conversation, it was entirely an accident!" Gabriella apologised sincerely.
「請恕我無禮，我並非蓄意偷聽的，這純屬意外！」嘉碧拉趕緊道歉道。
"Pray, do not assume that we care at all if you've heard them. We have absolutely no intention of concealing our feelings from you in the first place!" Caroline, whose embarrassment turned into anger, continued. "Being the wife of the prince, and the future Queen of our empire, it is your duty to make yourself useful in this palace. Go to the kitchen and help the servants prepare luncheon! And don't forget to change before you get my pretty dress dirty!"
「拜託，別以為我們會怕你聽到。我們從頭到尾根本就沒有想隱瞞我們對你的看法。」惱羞成怒的凱洛琳繼續說道：「身為王子的妻子，也就是未來的王妃，打理這個王宮本是你的職責。還不快點去廚房幫佣人們準備午餐！還有，別忘了把我借你的這身衣服換掉，免得把他們給弄髒了！」
As Gabriella walked away towards the direction of the kitchen, Charlotte giggled. "Look at her awkward posture, sister! I wonder how long our empire will last in her hands after she becomes queen!"
嘉碧拉走向廚房後，夏綠蒂嘲笑道：「姊，你看她那走路的模樣，多不入流啊！我們的帝國在她手裏我看撐不了多久就要亡國啦！」
Caroline nodded in approval and replied, "But it would be of no difference to us anyway, as we would have long been married to handsome princes by then!"
凱洛琳點點頭表示同意後答道：「但是這些事也與我們無關。因為等到那時，我們早就嫁給英俊的王子了！」
