Just before little Claire and Eliza were about to enter the convenience store, they perceived the blowing of horns. After turning around, they discovered that two clowns stood behind them, as if selling balloons. "Didn't know there was a circus in town," remarked little Claire in her childish tones.
"I don't know, but it looks very fun," replied Eliza, mesmerised by the colourful balloons of all sorts of shapes and sizes, "Why not let's go get ourselves one before heading to school?"
"Sure! Everyone else will envy our pretty balloons," responded Claire as they walked towards the two clowns.
"Um, excuse me, sir...um, I mean miss," inquired Eliza, but paused after she perceived that the clown she was talking to was a woman, "How much do these balloons cost?" At the door of the convenience store, a man with overgrown hair stood watching them, unperceived by the group.
"Hello, little girl," the female clown saluted benevolently, "They're for free! We're advertising for an arriving circus!"
"Really?" little Claire and Eliza glanced at each other in surprise, and immediately began discussing which one to take between themselves. "I like the blue one with the star shape."
"No, I like the red one, it's prettier."
"It's alright kids, you can take one each if you wish!" the other clown, who also appeared to be female, encouraged.
"It's alright, we'll just take the blue one. Leave the rest for the other kids!" little Claire concluded, and chose the colour that Eliza wanted, as she didn't particularly fancy a balloon from the start anyways.
Then, without forgetting to say 'thank you', like good girls, little Claire and Eliza skipped away blissfully to school in the opposite direction to the convenience store.
After seeing that the children were safely out of sight, the two clowns turned around to perceive the man standing at the door of the convenience store, who, after seeing that he was seen, was about to dash out of sight. Nevertheless, it was too late. As he was immediately trapped inside a plastic trap thrown out by the clowns. The two clowns hi-fived each other, and at that instant, they had transformed back into Annie and Cathy. Hooray! They had saved grandma!
As if to prove everything was real, Claire and Eliza appeared in their Graduation Ball dresses beside them, blinking, as if just woken up from a trance.
After their granddaughters have explained the whole situation to them, Claire and Eliza hugged them, and the four jolly girls walked back to the Time Machine. At the entrance, they encountered a man wearing a white suit, with bushy eyebrows and early signs of baldness, at whom Annie and Cathy gasped after perceiving him. Who is this man and what does he want?
