At first, Shaun was unable to comprehend the use of the incense. "As far as I am aware, incense is used to summon something," thought Shaun. "But it's not necessary to summon the wizard's mummy, as he is already here."
Nevertheless, as time drew on, Shaun began to understand Blythe's ritual. After Blythe began to chant a spell, Shaun noticed that the spirits of the dead which he had perceived inside the hotel began to gather together one by one.
Without warning, the wizard casted a spell and aimed it directly at Blythe. Immediately, Blythe held out her prayer beads and an invisible shield formed around her, reflecting off the wizard's spell. All this while, Blythe never stopped chanting her spell and more and more ghosts started to fly out from the hotel to gather around the wizard, forming a circle of barrier around him.
"What are you doing? Attack her!" shouted Mr Park in Korean.
Nevertheless, it was all in vain. The wizard's mummy was by now completely surrounded by the spirits of the people whom he had killed in his past life. The spirits grabbed hold of the mummy's limbs so the latter was unable to move no matter how hard he tried.
At that moment, Blythe pulled out a silver hairpin from her hair. Then, as quick as lightning, Blythe stabbed the hairpin into the location of which the heart of the wizard would be, just before the enormous wave of tsunami reached the coast. Letting out a deafening roar that trembled the very ground on which they stood, the flesh of the wizard's mummy gradually melted away. Instantaneously, the dark clouds overhead disappeared, as well as the menacing tsunami wave, and everything returned to normal. Like a dream, the sun's warm rays shone upon them naively as if nothing had ever happened. The only evidence of the entire event was the skeleton of the wizard lying on the ground, with the silver hairpin piercing through it.
"NO! NOOOO!" shrieked the furious Mr Park. "You've ruined my plan! You.....you meddling girl!"
"Blythe, what did you just do?" enquired Jeffrey after Mr Park had been taken away by the police.
"I exorcised the wizard's spirit so that he can never be resurrected again," answered Blythe, who was unusually pale and still slightly out of breath from the performance.
"I didn't know you could forcefully exorcise a spirit against its own will just like that," said Shaun.
"Neither did I! Grandma taught me how to do it and gave me the silver hairpin and this Taoist outfit," responded Blythe. "At first, grandma wanted to fly here to perform the ritual in person, but I offered to do it for her in fear of her body not being able to cope with all the stress this entails."
"Brilliant job, Blythe! You saved the day!" cheered Jeffrey. "You can be a professional exorcist now!"
"Um, no, thanks. I'd rather not have to do this again," replied Blythe, laughing.
