Without warning, the lid of the coffin slid down and a skeleton with faint traces of decayed bandages wrapped around its limbs emerged from within the coffin.
"Ahhh! It's a mummy!" screamed the spies.
"Get away from me!" yelled Claire as the skeleton slowly walked towards her.
In her frenzy of fear, Claire knocked the skeleton over with her stick.
"Quick! Before it has time to get up," exclaimed Eliza and the spies worked together to stuff the mummy back into its coffin.
"That'll teach you not to mess with us!" said Claire as she closed the coffin lid and locked it from outside to prevent the mummy from escaping again.
"Phew, that was close!" answered Eliza, wiping away beads of sweat from her forehead.
"It seems like the Book of the Dead isn't in here after all," remarked Claire. "Let's try another path."
"OMG, this pyramid is like a labyrinth. How are we gonna find that book?" complained Eliza as they walked out from where the mummy entered.
After turning a corner, the spies encountered a flight of steps, which was surrounded by hieroglyphics on its side.
"I wonder what this says," muttered Claire.
"Who cares! Let's go and check out what's upstairs," responded Eliza. "Besides, we've got nothing to lose. If we fail, we'll just start over again with this level. It's not like we'll start from level 1 again for something."
"Good point!" agreed Claire.
Nevertheless, after walking midway up the flight of steps, with Claire leading the way, the spies suddenly perceived a loud, rumbling sound from beneath them.
"Is that your stomach rumbling?" enquired Claire.
Before Eliza could reply, the stairs collapsed underneath their feet and the spies fell on top of each other.
"Ouch! Looks like that was a bad idea!" cried Eliza.
