When Gerald arrived at the train station, he was extremely astonished and pleased to discover that Daniel was also there, on the same platform, waiting for the same train as him! Such a coincidence!
當傑瑞德來到火車站時，他又驚又喜的發現他的好朋友竟然不僅在同一個月台等車，而且還跟他坐同一班火車！真是巧啊！
Suddenly, all his fears and anxieties were gone; it turned into an ecstasy of such a reprieve! With Daniel, he was no longer frightened, instead, he felt a bit excited. "Perhaps it is indeed like what mama has said, this could well be a thrilling adventure, just like those in storybooks!" Gerald thought quietly to himself as they waited on the platform for the arrival of the train.
突然，他之前所有的擔憂都消失不見了，變成了一種莫名的興奮。有丹尼爾的陪伴，傑瑞德不再害怕了。「說不定真的和媽媽說的一樣，這將會是一個精彩的歷險，就像故事書裏寫的一樣！」傑瑞德心想。
On the train, both Daniel and Gerald were extremely anxious, however, they kept each other company and away from their anxieties by chatting about past memories.
在火車上，丹尼爾和傑瑞德都非常緊張，於是他們便開始聊天，分散注意力。
As their destination were not far from each other, they got off the train together and walked side-by-side to their new homes. Gerald's new home was closer to the train station, so Daniel accompanied him there.
因爲他們的目的地離對方不遠，所以他們一起下火車，兩個人去尋找他們的新家。傑瑞德的新家離火車站比較近，於是丹尼爾就陪同他一起去。
When they have found the location of Gerald's new home from the map that they have received, they viewed it from a small distance.
當他們從地圖上找到目的地時，他們從遠處觀望。
"Wow! What a pretty house! So different to those in London!" Daniel admired at the small cottage that stared back at them.
「哇！好美的房子呀！跟倫敦的都不一樣！」丹尼爾邊欣賞邊讚嘆道。
"Indeed!" Gerald replied, with a sudden hope arising from deep down, "It is exactly like the one described in Anne of the Green Gables! This is like a fairy tale!"
「是呀！」傑瑞德回答道，突然燃起了一絲希望。「這跟故事書裏所描述的茅草屋一樣耶！好像童話故事裏的呀！」
Gerald strolled over to the entrance of the little cottage and gently knocked on the door. Whilst waiting for someone to answer the door, Gerald could hear his own heart beating inside his chest, like a stampede of buffaloes.
傑瑞德走到茅草屋的門口，上前去敲了門。他的心噗通、噗通得跳著。
Nevertheless, when the door was answered, Gerald's previous dream was immediately shattered into a million pieces. Opening the termite-bitten door was a skinny, middle-aged woman, who not only had short hair as black as coal but also had pointed black teeth.
然而，當門被打開來時，傑瑞德的美夢當場破碎。出來開門的是一個極瘦的中年婦女，穿著一身黑衣服，留著像炭一樣黑的短髮、牙齒又黑又尖。
"She looks just like the wicked witches in fairy tales!" Gerald could not help but shuddered after perceiving the horrifying face and quietly thought to himself.
「看起來好像童話故事裏的壞巫婆呀！」傑瑞德看見那張恐怖的臉後不禁打了個哆嗦。
Malevolently, the sharp, slanted eyes of the bony woman glared at Gerald as if he was a pest standing in the yard.
黑衣女子瞪了傑瑞德一眼。
"Hello! I am...." Gerald only just opened his mouth to speak when he was rudely interrupted.
「您好！我是......」正當傑瑞德剛開口時，他被打斷了。
"You must be the Anderson they've informed me about!" the woman with black complexion spoke with a high-pitched, croaky voice, which made her seem like a witch more than ever. Then she commanded in a strict tone. "Get in quickly! What took you so long to get here? I have been expecting your arrival for ages."
「你就是安德森吧！？」黑衣女人用著尖鋭的聲音説，讓她更像壞巫婆了。然後，她命令道：「趕快進來，別磨磨蹭蹭的！我已經等你很久了！」
How will this woman in black turn out to be like? Is she really like the wicked witch Gerald imagined her to be?
這個黑衣女子到底是怎樣的人呢？是不是真的像傑瑞德所想像的壞巫婆一樣呢？
