The Noirs had one son, named Aaron, who was about the same age as Gerald and whose favourite game was to play 'pirates and navy', which he often ordered Gerald to play with him. Then, Aaron would take the opportunity to bully Gerald and lock him in the chicken den, which was situated in the middle of the yard, away from all the neighbours, where it was futile for him to yell for help as no one would be able to hear him at this distance.
諾媧家庭有一個兒子，名叫艾倫，年紀和傑瑞德相當。他最喜歡玩的遊戲就是【海軍捉海賊】，他時常命令傑瑞德陪他玩這個遊戲，並趁機欺負傑瑞德，把他關在位在庭院正中央的雞籠裏。如此一來，傑瑞德便無法求助，因爲在這兒，左鄰右舍都無法聽到他的求救。
One morning, when Gerald returned to his little room in the cellar to fetch something, he was overwhelmed to discover that his favourite toy ship lay broken on the floor, with its sail gone!
有天早上，當傑瑞德回到他在閣樓上的房間拿東西時，他赫然發現最喜歡的玩具船翻倒在地上，船身壞掉了，帆也不見了。
"Anderson, what are you doing? Come here to help me right now!" Mrs. Noir bellowed deafeningly from downstairs. Gerald had no time to find out anything, yet.
「安德森，你在那兒磨磨蹭蹭的做甚麼？還不趕快下來幫我！」諾媧太太尖鋭的聲音從樓下傳上來。傑瑞德還没空查明事情的真相。
In fact, Mrs. Noir wanted Gerald to clean the floor for her.
原來，諾媧太太是要傑瑞德下樓掃地。
Whilst Gerald was sweeping the floor, he kept thinking about how his ship could have been broken.
傑瑞德一邊掃地，一邊沉思著他的船究竟爲何會壞掉。
Suddenly, Aaron appeared out of nowhere and jumped in front of Gerald with his pirate costume. In his shock, Gerald accidentally knocked off Mrs. Noir's favourite vase (and the only one in the house as well) off the shelf nearby with his broomstick.
突然間，穿著海賊裝扮的艾倫不知從哪兒跳了出來。被嚇了一大跳的傑瑞德不慎用掃帚將諾媧太太最心愛的花瓶（也是整個房子裏唯一的一個）從架子上推了下來。
"Cling Clang!" The fragile vase shattered into thousands of pieces on the cold stone floor.
易碎的花瓶在冰冷的石頭地板上碎成了成千上萬的碎片。
Overwhelmed, Gerald stared at the broken vase on the floor, he didn't dare to imagine the horrible consequences he would now have to face. Aaron, in this fit of chaos, quietly slipped away to his own room, away from all the troubles.
驚嚇過度的傑瑞德凝視著碎掉了的花瓶，不敢想像後果會是如何。艾倫看見自己闖了禍後，便馬上開溜，溜回了自己的房間。
After hearing the deafening din, Mrs. Noir strode out from the kitchen.......
聽到巨大聲響的諾媧太太從廚房飛奔了出來......
Oh no! What would the witch-like Mrs. Noir do to poor Gerald now?
糟了！巫婆般的諾媧太太這次又會對傑瑞德做甚麼呢？
