That evening, at midnight, Jeffrey sat up in bed as he heard the music playing again. This time, it was even louder than the previous night.
Shaun and Jeffrey rushed upstairs to the attic where the grand piano was situated. As they have anticipated, the detectives discovered that, this time, music was even louder as Shaun had pulled the cover off that morning.
However, to their utter astonishment, the detectives have discovered something else which they couldn't explain: the piano was playing by itself!
Puzzled, the detectives decided to run downstairs. However, whilst they were on the stairs, the music has abruptly stopped. "What time is it?" Shaun inquired.
Jeffrey glanced at a clock and responded in awe, "It's not yet even one o'clock!"
"Hmmm, that's weird," Shaun replied pensively, "Yesterday, the music stopped at two o'clock, but, today, it stopped even earlier....."
"Shaun, you didn't see anything, did you?" Jeffrey interrupted, "You didn't see anything supernatural, right?"
"No, I didn't and I am certain that there were no ghosts there," answered Shaun, "What I don't get is: if it is neither the work of a ghost, nor that of a recording, then what is making the piano play by itself?"
