Playmobil Detectives: Midnight Music-5

In the morning, Judy the maid arrived at six o'clock as promised to prepare breakfast for the detectives, who took this opportunity to recount the happenings of the previous night to her. "Um, Judy, may I call you that? Whilst you were cleaning the house, did you ever come across a piano of any sort here?" Jeffrey inquired trying to charm the lady into telling what she already knew.

"Well, I barely ever cleaned this house, as the Schwarzs have never lived here," the maid replied curtly, "I have only cleaned it once, and that's when they were planning to move here. But I have only cleaned a few rooms, in which they planned to frequent; and haven't seen any piano. Indeed, I have no knowledge about the rest of the house."

"Then, do you know anything about it's history?" Shaun queried.

Without warning, the expression on Judy's face turned extremely solemn, she glanced around as if ensuring that no one was listening, then she whispered in a mysterious tone. "I've heard that, hundreds of years ago, this place was inhabited by a very famous pianist. However, one day he died a mysterious death, which no one could discover any evidence of either its cause or who had killed him."

Judy's eyes widened, then she took a deep breath and continued. "Indeed, many conjectured that he had committed suicide. After his decease, this villa was stripped of its old furniture as someone had decided to buy it. Inside, there was a grand piano, which had seemed extremely cumbersome, so was left till the end to be moved. But, when the workers tried to move it, it would not even budge. So more people were called in to perform the action. Just when it was about to give way, somebody screamed and pointed on top of the piano. To everyone's horror, they perceived the ghost of the pianist sitting on the piano. Then, abruptly, the piano began to float in the air without anyone's support, it flew across the room, and landed right on top of a frightened worker, causing immediate death as his organs were crushed and spilt onto the floor, staining the carpet. From then on, nobody dared move the grand piano."

As Judy finished her speech, she returned to her usual cool expression and added: "That's all I know."

At eight o'clock, Mrs Schwarz and Stuart arrived at the villa to hear any news of the investigations.

"Yesterday, we have, indeed, heard the sound of music playing and we got up to investigate," elucidated Jeffrey, "However, so far, we have not quite solved the mystery just yet. If you would kindly let us stay one more night, I'm sure it shall be solved tomorrow morning." On hearing this, Stuart rolled his eyes in disdain again.

"Well, there really is no hurry," replied Mrs Schwarz as Shaun seemed to perceived a faint flicker of relief in her eyes, but it soon faded away, "Although the neighbours keep telling me to get it solved, it has been going on for more than a week, and I guess another day won't make much of a difference."

"Well, me and Stuart have other things to do," Mrs Schwarz continued curtly after a pause as she rose to depart, "We will come back again tomorrow, and I sincerely hope that we will receive better news than what we've had today."
