Soon, Tom, who was still in his pyjamas, and the spies arrived at a secret room inside the building. The spacious room was quite empty, except for a black door with a golden plate on it, which was located at the other side of the room.
"This must be the legendary 'Door of Babylon'," said Tom as he walked towards the door. "This is alien technology invented by the Galileans that can lead you anywhere instantly. This was what the Galileans used to transport themselves to Earth. This technology is still currently unachievable by humans, as it's practically a wormhole that can bend the curvature of time and....."
"OMG, you mean like the Anywhere Door in Doraemon?" enquired Claire. "That's soooo cool! I've always wanted to know what it feels like to go through one of those."
"Well, you'll know what it feels like soon," answered Tom. "As you'll have to go through this door to Mercury - the planet that is closest to the Sun - which is the place they have placed their machine that is absorbing the Sun's energy. Your mission is to destroy that machine, and hopefully, that way, it will return all the energy back to the Sun. That machine is a very complicated device that is unafraid of the Sun's extreme heat, and can transfer heat energy to stored chemical energy......Wait! What are you doing?" Before Tom has finished, the spies have started to turn the golden plate on the door to open it.
"I thought you said we don't have time for all this nonsense, Tom," responded Eliza. "So, hurry up and tell us how to open this thing."
"Well, unfortunately, I am not sure either," replied Tom, shrugging. "It looks like the Galileans, in fear of any human beings ruining their plan, have locked the door. The lock consists of very complicated combination of....."
Without warning, after the spies have turned the golden plate randomly, the Door of Babylon has opened.
"What?" exclaimed Tom in amazement. "How did you solve the combination?"
"Dunno!" replied Claire, shrugging. "It was all completely random."
Suddenly, Tom and the spies heard a noise behind them. They turned around only to perceive a green alien advancing towards them.
"Oh no! Looks like they've found out that we have opened the Door of Babylon," said Tom. "Hurry up, spies. Go through the door and don't worry about me! I'll deal with this little creature."
"You sure, Tom?" asked Eliza, raising her eyebrows. "I mean, you're still in your PJs!"
"Don't worry and hurry! We don't have time to lose," commanded Tom. "This alien has probably reported to its boss that we have opened the Door of Babylon, and its companions will start rushing in in no time."
"OK, see you then!" said Claire as she and Eliza stepped into the Door of Babylon.
"Right! Now, it's just you and me, little fella!" said Tom as he turned around and looked at the little green alien. "I've gotta warn ye, I have a certification in Kung Fu! So don't mess with me!"
The little alien just stood in front of Tom, looking blankly at him whilst Tom beckoned it to a fight.
Meanwhile, after entering the Door of Babylon, the spies found themselves inside a pitch-black tunnel.
"OMG, where are we?" spoke Eliza as she looked around for Claire, but couldn't see anything.
"Don't worry, just walk straight on," answered Claire. "I think I can see a speck of light at the end of the tunnel."
"Wait, I just remembered something," said Eliza. "We haven't told the door where we're going. So, how does it know to lead us to where the weird machine is?"
"I dunno," answered Claire. "But there doesn't seem to be any button to select the location anyways. I guess the door is controlled by our minds. So, we'll just have to picture the machine in our head and it'll take us there."
"But I don't even know what it looks like!" exclaimed Eliza, hopelessly.
