調查完周遭後，嬌娃們發現並無異樣；於是她們決定擴大搜索範圍。突然，艾米莉看見了一座離火山爆發的中心大約有100公尺距離的高塔聳立在海牀上。

「妳們趕緊來看！」艾米莉把大夥兒叫過來一起凝視著奇怪的高塔，其尖尖的屋頂被四根柱子支撑著。它的外側還有五片花瓣似的翅膀，彷彿張開雙手歡迎著嬌娃們投入它的懷抱。

Après quelques recherches autour de la zone et n'ayant rien trouvé de significatif, les espions augmentèrent leur rayon de recherche. Soudainement, Emily tomba sur un objet ressemblant à une tour au milieu du fond de la mer à environ 100 m du volcan sous-marin.

"Regardez!" Emily appela les deux autres pour examiner la tour, qui avait un toit pointu soutenu par quatre piliers et cinq ailes saillantes en forme de pétales, comme si elle les accueillait dans son étreinte monstrueux.

After some investigation around the area and having found nothing seemingly of any significance, the spies increased their radius of search. Suddenly, Emily came across a tower-like object in the middle of the sea-bed around 100m from the submarine volcano.

"Guys, come and take a look at this." Emily called over the other two to examine the tower, which had a pointed roof supported by four pillars and five protruding, petal-like wings extended from it, as if welcoming them into its monster-like grasp.

其實，嬌娃們之所以會驚聲尖叫是因爲看的了艾米莉標記的地圖上竟呈現了一個符號。「這看起來像是未完成的X！」Eliza 用著手指在地圖上描繪了一下後説。「可是，這樣太難預測下一個爆發地點了⋯⋯我是説，下一個地方可能是這裏、這裏、或是那裏。」

「或許，這是國字的『入』」Claire 提議道。

「或者是⋯⋯」艾米莉用著認眞思考的語氣説。「這是希臘字母中的Lamda Λ。」

「噢買尬、噢買尬、噢買尬！」Claire 興奮地説。

「你怎麼啦？今天早上喝的咖啡裏的咖啡因終於開始奏效了嗎？」Eliza 開玩笑地問。

「等等⋯⋯」Claire 抓起了艾米莉的筆電，在搜尋引擎中狂搜索。「妳記得今天早上我們去聽她的講座的那個植物學家的名字是什麼嗎？」

「好像是曼蒂・瑪蘿吧！」Eliza 答道。「説實話，我根本没在專心聽海樂在碎碎念些什麼。妳爲什麼突然問這個？」

「我的老天鵝啊！妳們瞧兒！」Claire 指著一篇有關瑪蘿博士的網頁説。

「天啊！上面寫説瑪蘿博士其實是希臘人，被一個英國家庭認養，十年前嫁給了一個美國人，」Eliza 讀道。「這還眞是個宇宙無敵大八卦呀！只是，這跟我們的任務有什麼關係啊？」

「上面還寫説她特別喜歡用火山泥來當她研發的反放射波植物的肥料。」艾米莉接著説。

「她最近找到了自己的親生父母，其姓氏就是希臘字母 Lambda Λ 開頭的！」Eliza 説。

「看來，此謎題算是破解了！」艾米莉高興得説。

「妳是怎麼想到她的呀？」Eliza 問道。

「剛剛聽了艾米莉説火山泥可以用來當植物的肥料，」Claire 解釋道。「我就想起今早瑪蘿博士似乎有提到這件事兒。」

「我還以爲妳睡着了呢！」Eliza 説。

「我的確睡着了！我是聽到了『火山泥』這三個字纔淸醒的！」Claire 笑著説。「因爲我還以爲她要講火山泥面膜呢～呵呵！」

「總而言之，妳眞是個名符其實的天才啊～Claire！」艾米莉讚美道。「現在地圖上顯示只有一個有可能會火山爆發的地點了！」

「太棒了！我就知道同心協力一定能解開謎題的！」嬌娃們興高采烈的擊掌道。

找到了下個火山會爆發的地點後，嬌娃們再度潛到大海裏去尋找線索。「我們分頭找吧！」艾米莉説。「希望還來得及～」

En fait, la raison pour laquelle les espions hochèrent d'étonnement après avoir perçu la carte marquée d'Emily était parce qu'il semblait y avoir un symbole ambigu. "Cela ressemble à un X inachevé", conclut Eliza en traçant le symbole en forme de montagne avec ses doigts. "Mais c'est trop difficile de prédire l'emplacement suivant ... J'veux dire, ça pourrait être ici, ici ou ici."

"Ou, ce pourrait être un caractère chinois pour le mot 'dans'," suggéra Claire.

"C'est peut-être pas un X inachevé", répondit lentement Emily sur son ton pensif. "Ce pourrait être une Lambda, une lettre dans l'alphabet grec."

"Mon dieu!" s'exclama Claire d'excitation.

"Quoi de neuf, as-tu eu trop de café ce matin?" demanda Eliza en plaisantant.

"Attends une minute ......" marmonna Claire et elle commença à chercher frénétiquement sur le web en utilisant l'ordinateur portable d'Emily. "Te souviens-tu le nom de la botaniste dont le cours on est allé ce matin?"

"J'pense que c'est Mandy Marlow, mais je suis pas sûre ..." dit Eliza avec hésitation, "Pour être franc, j'écoutais à peine quand Heather parlait d'elle."

"Mon dieu, regardez ça!" dit Claire en montrant une page Web qui présentait Dr Mandy Marlow.

In fact, the reason why the spies gasped in astonishment after having perceived Emily's marked map was because there seemed to be an ambiguous pattern. "This looks like an unfinished X," concluded Eliza as she traced the mountain-like pattern with her fingers. "But this is way too hard to predict the next location.....I mean, it could be here, here or here."

"Or, it could be a Chinese character for the word 'in'," suggested Claire. 

"Or.....this may not be an unfinished X," responded Emily slowly in her pensive tone. "It could be a Lambda, a letter in the Greek alphabet."

"OMG OMG OMG!" exclaimed Claire in excitement. 

"What's up? Has the caffeine in your morning coffee finally caught up with you?" enquired Eliza jokingly. 

"Wait a minute......" mumbled Claire as she grabbed Emily's laptop and started to search on the web frantically. "D'you remember what the name of the Botanist, the one we went to her lecture, is?"

"I think it's Mandy Marlow? I'm not sure though..." said Eliza hesitantly, "To be frank, I was barely listening when Heather was talking about her. Why are you asking?"

"OMG, guys, take a look at this!" said Claire as she pointed at a web page introducing Dr Mandy Marlow.

找到了海底火山爆發的位置後，嬌娃們便開始調查周遭的環境，試圖發現一些線索。「怎麼到處都是海洋植物啊？」Claire 四處張望後說。「這裏什麼都没有，只有噁心的海底生物。噁～走開啦！」Claire 看著一隻螃蟹緩緩游向自己後尖叫道。

「Claire，別擔心！」艾米莉輕聲細語地說。「牠不過是隻可愛的螃蟹罷了。來我這兒吧，螃蟹先生，讓我摸摸你！」突然間，螃蟹竟夾了艾米莉的手指。「哎唷喂呀～好痛啊！」艾米莉連大叫都是這麼的優雅。

Ayant localisé l'endroit de l'éruption volcanique sous-marine, les espions commencèrent leur enquête autour de la zone pour trouver des indices qui pourraient les aider à prédire le prochain lieu d'éruption.

"Tout ce que j'peux voir, ce sont des plantes aquatiques," conclut Claire après avoir jeté un coup d'œil pendant deux secondes. "Il n'y a absolument rien ici, sans parler de ces créatures sous-marines répugnantes ... Ew ... laisse-moi tranquille!" cria Claire alors qu'un crabe avançait lentement vers elle.

"Calmes-toi, Claire, ma chérie," apaisa Emily. "Ce n'est qu'un mignon petit crabe, viens ici, mon fils, laisse-moi te toucher!" Sans avertissement, le crabe pinça le doigt d'Emily.

"Aïe, ça fait mal!" cria Emily, bien que toujours d'un ton élégant.

Having located the location of the submarine volcanic eruption, the spies began their investigation around the area to see if they could find any clues that might help them to predict the next place of eruption. 

"All I can see are aquatic plants," concluded Claire after glancing around for literally two seconds. "There's absolutely nothing down here, not to mention those disgusting underwater creatures. Ew.....leave me alone!" Claire screamed as a crab slowly advanced towards her.

"Calm down, Claire dear," soothed Emily. "It's only a cute little crab. Come here, old boy, let me touch you!" Without warning, the crab pinched Emily's finger. 

"Ouch! That hurts!" screamed Emily, although still in an elegant tone.

湯姆還來不及介紹完所有的新裝備，嬌娃們就開始將它們一一從架子上拿下來檢視。「這麼奇怪的蛙鏡要幹嘛啊？」Claire 戴上了奇怪的蛙鏡後問道。

「這是遠紅外線眼鏡，可以用來從建築物外部偵測內部的動靜。因爲活著的生物體都會發出熱能，所以只要⋯⋯」

「天啊！透過這個眼鏡，你看起來更胖了！」Claire 說畢後便將眼鏡扔到一邊去。

「這是普通的飛鏢嗎？這也算是新發明哦？」Eliza 拿起了一個飛鏢後說。

「是的，這是一個飛鏢。但它可不是普通的飛鏢！」湯姆答道。「這個飛鏢設有衞星定位，如此一來，它可以跟蹤目標，絕對不會失準。還有，飛鏢射出去後，它會追蹤其主人的動向，自己回到主人的手上。」

Avant que Tom puisse finir de présenter les nouveaux gadgets, les espions en prirent déjà et commencèrent à les tester.

"Quelles sont ces lunettes ridicules?" demanda Claire en enfilant des lunettes amusantes.

"Ce sont des lunettes infrarouges lointaines, utilisées pour détecter des objets vivants à l'intérieur d'un bâtiment depuis l'extérieur. Il utilise le fait que toutes les créatures vivantes émettent des radiations, les lunettes sont capables de détecter tout ...."

"Mon dieu, Tom, tu me semble encore plus gros à travers ces lunettes!" interrompit Claire après les avoir enlevées et jetées de côté.

"Est-ce juste un boomerang normal? Pourquoi a-t-on besoin d'inventer quelque chose qui existe depuis longtemps?" demanda Eliza en brandissant une arme qui ressemblait à ce que les Aborigènes utilisaient.

"Oui, c'est un boomerang, mais ce n'est pas normal," répondit Tom. "Ce Boomerang est équipé d'un GPS qui lui permettre de suivre sa cible, donc on ne pourrait jamais le rater, et après avoir frappé la cible, il pourrait se retourner à son propriétaire, peu importe où il se trouve."

Before Tom could finish introducing the new gadgets, the spies have already grabbed some from the shelves and began to test them out. 

"What on Earth are these ridiculous goggles for?" enquired Claire as she put on some funny-looking goggles. 

"They are Far Infrared Glasses, used to detect living objects inside a building from the outside. It uses the fact that all living creatures emit radiation, the glasses are able to detect any...."

"OMG, Tom, you look even fatter through these glasses!" interrupted Claire after taking them off and tossing them aside. 

"Is this just a normal boomerang? Why do we need to invent something that has already been around for ages?" asked Eliza holding up a weapon that looked like what the Aboriginals use. 

"Yes, it is a boomerang, but it is not 'normal'," replied Tom. "This Boomerang is fitted with a GPS so that it will be able to track its target, hence you can never miss it. Furthermore, after hitting the target, it  can be functioned to return to its owner no matter where they are."

Après que Tom annonça son nom, Emily sortit progressivement derrière l'écran. Claire et Eliza étaient dans un étonnement total en percevant le visage familier de leur ancienne camarade de lycée - Tiffany.
