嬌娃們得知情況後便沿著教授所説的路線走一遍，的確，神殿的櫃子了已經空無一物了。
After the spies have received the information, they followed the path of the professor, and exactly like they were told, there was nothing left to be seen in the cabinet of the temple-like building.
她們下的結論就是：没有那把鑰匙，根本就不可能偷到那些卡諾卜罈。
Their conclusion was: everything would be quite impossible without the key.
但是，教授告訴他們説在這段時間鑰匙並没有離開他們的視線，因為是教授自己親自保管的。於是，嬌娃們不禁開始懷疑那組人之中有暗藏內賊～不然，根本没有人有機會拿到鑰匙。
However, the professor claimed that the key has not left their sight during the period as he was the one taking charge of it. Therefore, the spies could not help but to suspect that the Canopic Jars must be stolen by one of the people in the group, or else, no one could have gotten the key in any way.
嬌娃們前去詢問教授一行人住的旅館的櫃台小姐：「小姐，請問在前天晚上，教授一行人有離開旅館嗎？」
The spies continued their investigation by inquiring the lady at the reception in the hotel that the professor's team stayed in: "Excuse me, miss, could you tell us if anyone in the professor's group has left the hotel on the night before yesterday?"
可是得知的消息竟是：「如果我没記錯，那天晚上颳著很大的沙塵暴，應該没有人能出去喔！」
The information they received was: "If I have not mistaken, I recollect that there was a sandstorm on that night, therefore, it was impossible for anyone to leave the hotel."
正當嬌娃們感到絕望，準備離開時，櫃台小姐又説：「啊～我想到了！那天晚上是没有人離開旅館，可是教授有來櫃台詢問，説這附近有没有賣冰淇淋的。我告訴他説：『這兒除了我們旅館有賣冰淇淋，要走很久才能買到喔～況且現在外面颳著沙塵暴，出去是很危險的。』然後他似乎很失望地走去我們的餐廳買冰淇淋。真不知道我們旅館的冰淇淋有甚麼不好，價格是貴了點兒啦，可是至少衛生又好吃啊，不像外面那樣．．．．．」嬌娃們看著櫃檯小姐開始自言自語，就趕緊和她道謝，然後匆匆離開了。
Discouraged by the reply, when the spies were about to leave, the lady replied: "Oh! I remember! On that night, no one left the hotel, however, the professor came downstairs to inquire if there was anyone selling ice-cream around here. I told him that it is a long walk to the nearest shop, and that it would be dangerous to walk outside in a sandstorm, so I advised him to buy the ice-cream from our hotel restaurant. He seemed extremely disappointed whilst walking to the restaurant. In all honesty, I don't understand what's wrong with the ice-cream of our hotel? Yes, it is a bit more expensive, but at least it is more hygienic and of a more superior quality, unlike the ones they sell outside....." The spies, after noticing that the lady was going into a rant, quickly thanked her and returned to their room.
嬌娃們回到房間後便開始進入沉思，經過一番討論的結果後，他們雙方共同認為非常有可能就是教授在晚上自己去偷的！
They started to go into a deep thought whilst in their rooms. After some discussion, they both agreed that it is very likely that the professor is the thief.
因為不僅他的行為非常可疑～晚上突然一定要吃冰淇淋，而且在打開櫃子看到那些卡諾卜罈後就趕緊叫大家回旅館休息，没有繼續研究，非常不像是教授的個性，還用【怕晚上會在獅身人面獸裏面迷路的理由】～其實在地底下不管白天還是黑夜都没有陽光，爲甚麼還要怕晚上呢？
As, not only that his actions seems very suspicious- suddenly wanting to eat ice-cream at night and telling everyone to go back after discovering the Canopic Jars instead of investigating further, which is indeed very unlike the style of the professor. And also, the ridiculous excuse he gave of calling everyone off of "afraid of getting lost in the Sphinx at night" when having sunlight or no sunlight makes absolutely no difference when they're underground.
的確，種種的證據指向教授就是犯人，可是，既然犯人就是教授，他還會特別請總部去調查這件事情嗎？還有，在沙塵暴的晚上，他是怎麼離開旅館，沿著路線走回獅身人面獸裏面去偷取卡諾卜罈呢？然後，偷到了卡諾卜罈後他把他放在哪裡才没有被大家察覺呢？
Indeed, all of the evidences make the professor seem ever more likely to be the thief; however, if that really is the case, why would he contact the headquarters to help him solve this mystery? Also, at the night of the sandstorm, how did he leave the hotel and retrace his steps back to the Sphinx and steal the Canopic Jars? Moreover, where would he place the Canopic Jars so as not to let everyone else suspect him after he has stolen them?
案情真是愈來愈離奇，於是嬌娃們決定也不要排除其他人的嫌疑，花一天時間偷偷跟蹤他們每一個人的行蹤，把案情查個水落石出。
The case is getting more bizarre by the second, so the spies did not neglect the possibilities of others as suspects and decided to follow them all in order to investigate further into the mystery.
嬌娃們會有甚麼驚奇的發現呢？
