After the spies and detectives have read the webpage with Shaun have shown them, they decided to return to the haunted restaurant the following morning to get to the bottom of the mystery.
神探和嬌娃們讀完了孝恩給大家看的網頁後，決定隔天一大早就回到傳說中鬧鬼的餐廳，把案子查個水落石出。
They retraced their steps of the previous evening back to the room where they calculated the phantom to be standing when they perceived her on the bridge, and found everything was as it used to be, except that the table has been moved away from the window.
沿著隔天他們自己的腳步走到了鬼魂出現的包廂，他們發現它並無異樣，只是桌子被搬離開了窗邊。
"Let's see how the view is like from up here," Eliza suggested.
「我們看看從這兒看下去的風景如何吧！」Eliza 提議道。
However, to their utter astonishment, as they looked out of the window, they perceived the phantom again! This time, she was standing on the wooden railings of the bridge, facing outward into the waters, as if trying to jump from there.
然而，當他們往窗外一時，卻赫然發現女鬼再現。這次，她站在石橋的木欄杆上，往外望去，彷彿要從橋上跳下去似的。
The moment they perceived the pale figure, they dashed out of the room, down the stone stairs and onto the bridge. But, the phantom was nowhere to be found!
一見到白臉女鬼，他們一行人就二話不說，衝出包廂，跑下樓梯。但是，當他們來到石橋上時，鬼魂早已消失得無影無蹤。
"Ahh!" Suddenly, Claire, who was lagging behind in the group, let out a piercing scream. The rest turned around to perceive her lying on the floor in pain.
「啊！」突然，走在後面的 Claire 發出尖叫聲。大家轉頭一看才發現她痛苦得躺在地上。
"I've sprained my ankle," Claire explained as she was helped to stand up by Eliza and Shaun, "The ground here is not flat, I think I stepped into empty space."
「我的腳踝扭傷了！」Eliza 和孝恩將 Claire 扶起來時她解釋道。「那邊的地好像不平，我踩空了才會扭到的。」
As Shaun removed the red carpet between them and the actual floor of the bridge, they were overwhelmed by amazement as they perceived a huge hole on the floor, which was wide enough to fit a person, that led straight downwards onto the gondola that was parked under the bridge, the only transportation to and from this restaurant.
孝恩將鋪在橋上的紅地毯掀開一看，大家才赫然發現原來地板上有一個大洞，大小都可以讓一個人穿越，並直通停在橋下的船，也就是唯一通往餐廳的交通工具。
"Saunders must have been kidnapped through this hole!" Jeffrey uttered in astonishment.
「桑德斯一定是從這個洞被綁架出去的！」傑佛瑞驚訝地說。
"But how could the kidnapper do such a cruel thing, throwing her down from such a high place onto the gondola?" Eliza exclaimed in horror.
「怎麼會有人如此心狠手辣，將人從這麼高的地方丟到船上？」Eliza 驚恐地問道。
"The kidnapper must have done the procedure whilst the lights were out, as no one would have noticed since the room was in chaos," Clare reasoned, "And it must have been helped somehow by the staff of this restaurant, since this gondola is their property, and only they can use it."
「綁匪一定是趁著燈被熄滅、包廂裏雞飛狗跳的時候，將大明星綁走的！」Claire 推理道。「而且一定有餐廳的工作人員暗中幫忙，因為只有他們才能使用這艘船。」
"Then how come we didn't notice it moving away from this restaurant when we dashed out of the box after we've discovered the actress was missing?" Jeffrey inquired, "Surely, by the time we rushed out, she must have already been in the gondola, moving away."
「若真是如此，我們為何從包廂衝到橋上時沒有注意到小船開離開小島呢？」傑佛瑞問道。「這樣推算下來，當我們發現大明星不見、跑出來時，她人應該已經在船上，正要離開小島了吧？」
"That could be because our attention was purposefully directed elsewhere," Shaun, who had been silent for some time, suddenly said thoughtfully, "When we rushed out from the room onto the bridge, the gondola could still be right underneath it, hidden from our view. Then, the phantom appeared upstairs, which not only directed our attention away, but also made us follow her. So whilst we were upstairs in that room investigating, the gondola secretly sailed away, with the victim in it."
「那是因為有心人士故意轉移我們的注意力呀！」許久都沒有說話、陷入一陣沈思的孝恩開口說。「當我們從包廂衝到橋上時，小船正在我們所看不到的橋墩下埋伏著。這時，鬼魂就出現了。我們不僅注意到她了，還跟了過去。所以，當我們在樓上小包廂裏調查時，小船才趁那時離開小島。」
Then, the group returned to the dressing room in the attic, and discovered that it was quite changed. "Aha! Just as I thought!" Shaun said as they discovered a laptop, "If I have not mistaken this is Smith's laptop, as I saw her holding it when we first entered the waiting room."
隨後，他們一行人又來到了閣樓上的更衣室，並發現它和昨天有所不同。「啊哈！就跟我想得一樣！」孝恩發現一台筆電後說。「若我沒記錯，這台是史密斯的筆電！」
"What is it doing here then?" Jeffrey inquired in bewilderment.
「它在這裡做什麼？」疑惑的傑佛瑞問道。
"Shaun, see if you can hack into it to see if there are any clues in it," Claire said calmly.
「哥，你看看能不能破解密碼，看看裏面有什麼線索。」Claire 冷靜得說。
"Guys, take a look at this!" Eliza exclaimed as she pointed to the plastic model, which had, now, a purple hat on its head, "If I have not mistaken, this is the phantom's hat! I notice its brand!"
「你們看！」Eliza 指著塑膠模特兒頭上戴著的紫色帽子驚叫道。「如果我沒記錯，這是鬼魂的帽子！我記得它的品牌！」
"Shhh! I hear footsteps. Someone's coming!" Shaun whispered as he ushered everyone behind the only possible hiding place of the room- the pink screen.
「噓～我聽到腳步聲！有人來了！」孝恩邊說邊帶領著大家躲到房間唯一能藏匿的地方～屏風的後面。
