The moment Mademoiselle Laverte perceived Saunders' entrance, she dashed towards her and began explaining in French about the case of the 'thirteen chairs'. Then, Saunders turned around towards the waitress standing behind her and said, "Excuse me, could you please remove the extra chair? As we have only twelve people."
拉維特小姐一看到桑德斯出現後，立刻衝向她並用法語向她解釋「十三張椅子」的事件。隨後，桑德斯便轉頭和站在她後面的服務生說：「不好意思，可以請你搬走那張多餘的椅子嗎？我們只有十二個人。」
Just when the waitress was about to walk towards the chair, a window on the far side of the room was abruptly opened.
正當服務生走向椅子所放置的地方時，在房間另一端的窗突然被打開來了。
"Who the hell opened the window?" Ms Nagel bellowed deafeningly.
「是哪個人把窗子打開了？」奈揪小姐大聲喊道。
Without warning, Mademoiselle Laverte screamed, "A ghost! A ghost!!"
突然，拉維特小姐大叫：「鬼魂！鬼魂！」
Only then, did everyone look in the direction of the open window and perceive a woman with a pale face, black hair and wearing a purple hat outside the window, smiling a ghostly smile at everybody. "Did you forget me? That is not an extra chair, that is my seat! Hahahahahaha!" The phantom spoke the words in Italian in such a creepy tone, which made everyone's hair on their back stand on end, though some did not understand a single word of the speech.
直到這時，大家才往被開啟的窗子的方向一望，並赫然發現站在窗子外面有一個黑髮，白臉，並帶著紫色帽子的女子，對著大家露出詭異的微笑。「難道你們把我給忘了嗎？那不是多餘的椅子，是我的位子！哈哈哈哈！」鬼魂用著恐怖的聲調說著義大利文，讓就連一個字都聽不懂的人都不禁感到毛骨悚然、不寒而慄。
Suddenly, all the lights went out, and everyone found themselves plunged in complete darkness.
突然間，所有的燈都被熄滅了，大家頓時陷入伸手不見五指的漆黑裏。
"Ahhhhh!" Screams and abuses, which one could be sure came from no one else but Ms Nagel, and the sound of people bumping into tables and chairs could be heard in the pitch-black room.
「啊～！」尖叫聲連連、辱罵聲也不斷（大家不用想都知道是從誰的口中傳出來的了吧？），還有人撞到桌椅的聲音。
Without warning, the lights were on again, and relieve could be seen passing over the room, which had been in a complete chaos previously.
忽然，燈又亮了起來，可以很明顯地看到本來慌張的大家都鬆了口氣。
At this moment, Mademoiselle Laverte spoke again, "Natasha! Natasha, elle a disparu! She has disappeared!"
這時，拉維特小姐又說話了：「娜塔莎！娜塔莎，她不見了！Elle a disparu!」
Only then, did everyone notice that the famous actress was, in fact, gone!
大家才赫然發現，大明星的的確確失蹤了！
