 "It seems like you know it all already, there is no need for me to say anything else."

「看來，你們什麼都知道了，我跟你們沒什麼好說的了。」

"No! We do not know all," Nadia took up her courage and replied, "All we know is that you are the Siberian tigress that escaped the zoo, and kidnapped many children to turn them into cats. But we're still in the dark concerning your motive. What is the meaning of all this?"

「不！我們還有些不清楚。」娜迪雅鼓起勇氣答道。「我們只知道你就是從動物園逃出來的東北虎，並綁架了很多小孩，將他們變成貓。只是，你為什麼要這麼做呢？」

"Well, well, seeing that you have known most already, unlike your ignorant, blond friend, I guess it doesn't hurt to enhance your knowledge just a teeny bit more." Madame Tigresse replied, "I had been a free tiger roaming on the lands of Siberia for nearly a thousand years, when I was caught and transported to the zoo, where I was imprisoned for many years. It wasn't until several months ago that I had a chance of escape as the place was flooded after a tempest. After living in the world for a thousand years, I have acquired the knowledge of performing magic, so I turned myself into a human and escaped. However, this is all temporary, as my magic powers are limited. From an ancient spell book of black magic, I have learnt that if one could consume forty-nine humans alive, one could become an immortal human permanently. And children are the easiest to kidnap, as they're so innocent they won't suspect a thing!"

「好吧！看來，你們不像你們的金髮朋友那麼無知，那我也不介意多告訴你們一點兒。」虎姑婆答道。「我其實是一隻千年老虎精，在西伯利亞自由自在地生活著。後來，我被抓到了動物園。直到前幾個月前，動物園淹水，我才趁機溜走。在這個世界上活了一千年後，我也多多少少學會了一些法術，於是我將自己變成了人類。然而，這都只是暫時的，因為我的法力有限。從一本古老的魔法書裡，我得知只要吃七七四十九個人類，我就可以永遠變成長生不老的人。而小孩是最好綁架的，因為他們完全不會起疑心。」

"Wait, I still don't get the cat part, though..." Nadia responded.

「那....為什麼要變成貓呢？」娜迪雅又問道。

"Stupid girl!" Madame Tigresse snapped, "How else am I supposed to hide the children? People will soon get suspicious and I will go into jail as a kidnapper. The only way is to turn them all into cats, so no one will suspect, then after my collection is complete, I can eat them alive. Ahahahaha!" her deafening laugh filled the entire room, "Right, enough chit chat. It's time for you to be added to my collection of cats. Wait....let me see.....hahahaha, what a lucky couple! You two are the last two required for me to complete my collection!"

"Who are you and what do you want to do to me?" Jeffrey cried as he tried to stand up, however, was extremely terrified to discover that he seemed to be forced onto the floor by a mighty power. 

「你是誰？你想要對我做什麼？」傑佛瑞喊道並試圖站起來，然而，他發覺自己被一股龐大的力量壓在地上。

"You know the answer very well, young man!" Madame Tigresse sneered, "Your fate will be just the same as these cats you see right now, controlled by my magic powers!" The sinister witch laughed as she motioned to the cats around her, all petrified by the scene in front of them, as if reliving their nightmares again.

「年輕人，我想你自己也很清楚吧？」虎姑婆冷笑道。「你的命運即將和這些貓咪一樣，受我的法力控制！」旁邊的貓都紛紛用著驚恐的眼神看著這一幕，彷彿惡夢再現一般。

"But why are you doing all this?" the inquisitive Jeffrey inquired. 

「可是，你為何要這麼做？」好奇的傑佛瑞問道。

After perceiving that the two children had disappeared into Madame Tigresse's cottage, closing the dilapidated door behind them, the curious Jeffrey peeped in through a broken window. To his utter horror, he perceived that, in a blink of an eye, one of the boys had turned into the figure of Madame Tigresse, as the other boy gasped in shock. 

看見兩個小朋友走進虎姑婆的家中、並將殘破不堪的門關上後，好奇的傑佛瑞從一旁壞掉的窗戶往屋內望。他赫然發現，轉眼間，其中一個小男孩竟突然變成了虎姑婆的樣子。另一個男孩則是被嚇傻了站在一旁。

Madame Tigresse laughed a wicked laugh whilst slowly advancing towards the frightened little boy. "Who are you? What do you want?" the poor boy shrieked as he was forced into a corner of the room, "I thought you said you're gonna give me candy...."

虎姑婆笑著邪惡的笑聲，緩緩地走向嚇壞了的小男孩。「你是誰？你想做什麼？」可憐的小孩被逼到角落後尖叫道。「你不是說要請我吃糖果嗎？」

At lunch time, Shaun, Jeffrey and Nadia dined at a restaurant close to the university campus. 

那天中午，孝恩、傑佛瑞和娜迪雅在大學校舍附近的餐廳共享午餐。

"I'm sorry, I don't think to have heard any news of your cat!" apologised Nadia. Suddenly Jeffrey exclaimed as he pointed to a figure by the door of the grocer's opposite the street: "Look! It's Madame Tigresse!"

「真抱歉，目前我都沒聽到任何有關你們遺失貓咪的消息！」娜迪雅說。突然，傑佛瑞指著對面雜貨店的入口說：「你瞧！是虎姑婆耶！」

"Fancy seeing her here!" said Shaun, "It's quite a distance from our place."

「咦？她怎麼會出現在這兒！」孝恩說。「這兒離我們住的地方有一段距離耶！」

"Do you know that old lady?" inquired Nadia, and after Shaun explained that she was their new neighbour, Nadia fell into a deep thought. 

「你們認識她嗎？」娜迪雅問道。孝恩解釋了一下，說她是他們的新鄰居後，娜迪雅又陷入了沈思。

The following day, the detectives' new neighbour- Madame Tigresse went shopping around town, with two cats in her cat basket, and came across the Pink Patisserie, which claimed to sell not only desserts for humans, but also for your pets. 

隔天早上，神探們的新鄰居～虎姑婆到城市裏去閒逛，他提著裡面裝有兩隻貓的貓籃路過了裡面堪稱有賣專為寵物設計的甜點的『粉紅甜點店』。

"Hmmm! It'll be nice to get my children some desserts!" the old lady grinned weirdly as she alluded to the numerous cats at home. 

「我剛好可買些點心吃孩子們吃！」老太太想著家裏的貓咪們心想。

After they returned home, Shaun sat in front of his laptop whilst Jeffrey microwaved some food to eat.

兩人到家後，孝恩便打開電腦，傑佛瑞則在微波晚餐。

"I swear, news nowadays are getting weirder and more varied," stated Shaun, "from the UK leaving the EU to children missing from all over France, and a Siberian tiger that escaped the zoo. Wow! What a range!"

「真是太扯了！現在的新聞真的是愈來愈奇怪了！」孝恩說。「從英國退出歐盟到小孩在法國各地失蹤。還有咧～一隻東北虎從動物園逃了出來！哇！真是太廣泛了！」

"A new neighbour with many cats!" exclaimed Jeffrey, "Let's go and see if our cat's there!" The detectives walked over and saluted the white-haired old lady, who was just trying to move a table through the door. "Hi!" smiled Jeffrey welcomingly, "Have you just moved in? It seems like we're neighbours, we live right next door!"

「養了很多隻貓的新鄰居耶！」傑佛瑞說。「咱們去瞧瞧看咱們的貓有沒有跑到她那兒去。」神探們走過去和正在搬桌子的白髮老太太打了聲招呼。「嗨！」傑佛瑞臉上掛著歡迎的笑容說。「您剛搬進來嗎？看來我們是鄰居耶～我們就住在隔壁！」

"Hello!" the old lady replied with a French accent, but looking at Shaun with twinkling eyes instead of at Jeffrey, "Yes, I just came from France, one of my relatives live close by."

「你好啊！」老太太用著法國的口音答道，眼睛一直注視著孝恩，而不是傑佛瑞。「是啊～我剛從法國搬來，我有一個親戚就住在這附近。」

"Oh, I forgot to introduce ourselves," said Jeffrey, "I'm Jeffrey and he is Shaun. How should we call you?"

「差點兒忘了自我介紹了！」傑佛瑞說。「我叫傑佛瑞，他是孝恩。我們該如何稱呼您？」

The following afternoon, after their respective lectures, Shaun and Jeffrey were getting a drink from the supermarket, of which the owner was a benevolent, Japanese old lady, near to their university campus. Shaun seized this opportunity to inquire about his sister's missing kitten- Tiffy. "Excuse me, Mrs Yamada, I am wondering whether you have seen a yellow striped cat recently?" inquired Shaun in fluent Japanese, "As yesterday, my cat was lost, and I couldn't find it anywhere."

隔天下午，孝恩和傑佛瑞上完課後，在大學隔壁的一間超市買飲料。超市的主人是一位慈祥的日本老太太。「不好意思喔，山田太太，妳最近有没有看見一隻黃色條紋的貓咪呀？」孝恩用著流利的日文問道。「因為昨天，我的貓失蹤了，我們怎麼找都找不到。」

"No, I am very sorry," replied Mrs Yamada, "One of my cats has recently disappeared as well, and it returned after a few days. Cats are like that, they're very mysterious, and sometimes, they need their own personal space. Be patient and wait for a few days, I am sure it'll come home soon. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye out for it."

「很抱歉，没有耶！」山田太太答道。「前幾天我有一隻貓咪也不見了，幾天後牠自己就回來了。貓就是那麼的神秘，有時，牠們也需要私人空間。耐心等待，我想，幾天後，牠就會自己回來了！別擔心，我會幫你注意的。」

Without warning, after the departure of the arrogant lady, Nadia dashed out of the patisserie. The curious Jeffrey looked in the direction where Nadia was and perceived her to be looking down at a white cat with black spots. 

刁蠻的貴婦結帳完畢離開後，突然，娜迪雅衝到甜點店外面。好奇的傑佛瑞朝著娜迪雅的方向望去，赫然發現她似乎在和一隻有著黑色斑點的白貓說話，

"Look!" Jeffrey nudged Shaun, who was busy choosing desserts, and pointed, "She's talking to a wild cat!" 

「你瞧兒！」傑佛瑞推了推正在選甜點的孝恩，並指道：「她在和野貓說話耶！」

"So?" replied Shaun, unconcerned.

「然後呢？」孝恩答道。

"Is she nuts or something?" whispered Jeffrey, unwilling to let Klara overhear their conversation, "What sane human being would talk to a cat?"

「她是不是腦袋有問題啊？」傑佛瑞小聲地說，怕被克拉拉偷聽到他們的對話。「哪一個正常人會和貓說話呀？」

When the detectives entered, Jeffrey suddenly gasped. Shaun, who was too focused on the desserts which were on display in the shop, took no heed of his companion's exclamation until Jeffrey exclaimed, "Ms Evans!"

神探們才進入店裏，傑佛瑞就驚嘆了一聲。忙著凝視著架上可口甜點的孝恩根本沒注意到，直到傑佛瑞驚歎道：「伊凡斯小姐！」

"Mr Donovan!" the shopkeeper exclaimed. 

「多諾溫先生！」店員也驚歎道。

Only then did Shaun look across the counter and perceived a familiar figure with long, braided golden hair, smiling back at him. In fact, it was no other than their old acquaintance- Nadia Evans, whom they met in the episode of "Hospital Scandal".

孝恩這時才朝著收銀台的方向望去，看到了一個留著一頭金黃色、紮著辮子的長髮女生，正用著熟悉的面孔對著他微笑。事實上，她正是娜迪雅．伊凡斯，神探們在『醫院醜聞』那篇所認識的舊識。

After a whole morning of diligent searching, all was in vain, as Tiffy, the striped cat, was nowhere to be found in the house.

兩人花了一整個早上在找貓，然而，還是沒看到牠的蹤影。

A lazy, mid-May day, Shaun was at home when the doorbell rang. On opening the front door, he was astonished to discover that the lady from the pet salon stood on the doorstep with a pokerface. 

一個懶洋洋的五月天，孝恩在家裏時門鈴突然響了。打開大門，他赫然發現是擺著撲克臉的寵物美容院櫃檯小姐站在門外。

"Mr Lee?" the lady inquired, and after Shaun replied in the affirmative, continued, "Ms Lee, your sister, asked us to send her cat to your house after it had its hair done."

「李先生，是嗎？」小姐問道。孝恩點了點頭後，她繼續説：「李小姐，也就是你妹妹，要我們將貓咪美容過後送來你家。」

"Yes, she has already informed me of this," responded Shaun, after suddenly remembering Claire's phone call the day before, asking him to take care of her cat - Tiffy, whilst she's away for her High School Graduation trip, which would last for a week. 

「是的，她已同我説了。」孝恩答道，突然想起前一天 Claire 在電話中請他幫忙照顧寵物貓～『提飛』，因爲這個她星期要去參加高中畢業旅行。

"Please sign this note, thank you!" said the lady from the pet salon in a monotone.

「請在這裏簽名，謝謝！」寵物美容院的小姐説。
