After realising Jeffrey's disappearance, Shaun and Blythe, along with Tiffany, immediately ceased their investigation and commenced their search of their missing friend.
They wandered around the different rooms of the deserted ship's cabin, opening one doors after another and finding them to be exactly as they were when their residents had fled during the shipwreck.
A room at the very end of a long, winding corridor caught the friends' attention as it was the only room with a white door. After entering it. they discovered it to be a study of some sort, furnished with an Oriental carpet on the floor and a round table in the middle of the room.
"Gosh! This was the room that appeared in my dream!" exclaimed Blythe the moment she set eyes upon it. "It was in this very room that Rapunzel complained to her governess about her father."
"Wait a sec, who's this Rapunzel?" enquired Tiffany, confused. "OMG, it's such a silly name! I mean, it's even worse than yours, Britney!"
"Oops, I forgot to mention that Rapunzel is the name of the girl whom we all dreamt about, it's the same as the name of this ship!" answered Blythe apologetically.
"OMFG! You could've mentioned something as important as this much earlier!" blamed Tiffany, with her arms crossed dramatically. "It's all your fault that ma dearest Jeffie got into danger, you....."
At this moment, Shaun motioned them to be quiet by placing a finger on his lips. Tiffany was about to stick her tongue out in protest when, suddenly, they heard distinct sounds of footsteps. Click, clack, click, clack. It was the sound of high heels tapping on wooden boards.
"Quick! Upstairs!" whispered Shaun under his breath as he motioned them to follow him. After ascending a long flight of steep steps, the friends found themselves in a spacious dining hall, furnished with a lush Persian carpet, luxurious chandelier and posh blood-red curtains, with many tables in the centre. Nevertheless, there was no one in the room.
"No way!" exclaimed Shaun in awe. "This was the dining hall that appeared in my dream!"
"So, it seems like you're right - our 'dreams' were actually snippets of Rapunzel's memories," concluded Blythe. "But we still haven't found Jeffrey yet! Where could he be?"
"Wait, what if you're all wrong and ma Jeffie just went temporarily into hiding as he's scared I'm gonna be mad at him?" suggested Tiffany. "Let's go back, he could be already in our room, waiting for me!"
"Although it's scarcely been 24 hours since my first acquaintance with Jeffrey, this doesn't seem like something he would do," answered Blythe, shaking her head.
"Well, I guess there's no other choice," replied Shaun, shrugging. "We've searched everywhere and he's nowhere to be found. Let's just hope that Tiffany's right for once."
Nonetheless, all hope seemed lost after returning to the bed-chamber and discovering that Jeffrey was still absent.
"OMG, Jeffie dear, where are you?" yelled Tiffany in despair. "I promise I won't ever be mad at you again, please just come out!"
"Oh no! It's gone!" Suddenly, Blythe exclaimed whilst pointing to the pile of letters on the floor left by them before going to search for Jeffrey.
"What is? Your brain?" asked Tiffany, snickering.
"No, the diary's gone!"
Indeed, after Shaun grabbed a torch nearby and shone its light on the pile, he confirmed that the ship log was no longer on the floor, where they have left it less than half an hour ago.
