One sunny morning, Eliza, who was currently on study leave, was helping her mum setting up the breakfast table. Everyone was in a hurry to get to work (or school for Eliza's younger brother), so her mother was very stressed.
一個晴朗的早晨，正在準備考試的Eliza正在幫她的媽媽準備早餐。大家都在趕時間，上班的上班，上課的上課，所以媽媽非常緊張。
"For crying out loud! This is just ridiculous!" Eliza's mother cried, "How did this pie get burnt? I'm sure I've set the right time for the oven."
「我的天啊！這實在太離譜了！」Eliza 的媽媽大叫説：「這個派怎麼會烤焦了呢？我確定這次烤箱的時間没有設定錯誤呀！」
"Don't worry dear, we still have bread! That's more than enough for breakfast." Eliza's dad replied calmly, as usual.
「親愛的，別擔心！我們不是還有麵包嗎？早餐吃這些就夠啦！」Eliza 的爸爸冷靜得回答道。
Suddenly, Eliza's mother screamed and held her head.
突然，Eliza 的媽媽摸著頭大聲尖叫。
"Mum, are you alright?" Eliza inquired.
「媽，你還好吧！？」Eliza 問道。
"Oh I'm just feeling extremely dizzy and suffering from a horrible headache. I swear these headaches are getting worse." Eliza's mother replied.
「噢，我只是有點兒暈眩，頭也很痛而已。應該過一會兒就會好的。只是，我總感覺頭疼愈來愈嚴重了。」Eliza 的媽媽回答説。
Abruptly, but only for a split second, Eliza perceived her mother turning transparent, she could see straight through her. However, after Eliza blinked her eyes and reopened them, everything seemed to be back to normal.
突然間，在僅僅一秒內，Eliza 赫然發現媽媽變得透明了，她可以清楚的看到媽媽後面的東西。然而，當Eliza 眨了眨眼睛後，一切又恢復正常了。
"Mum, it must have been because of your extreme diet recently, you barely ate anything for the past week!" exclaimed Eliza's brother- George.
「媽，一定是你最近一直在減肥才會這樣！你這個禮拜幾乎甚麼都没吃耶！」Eliza 的弟弟~喬治説。
After breakfast, Eliza met up with her best friend- Claire to go shopping in the local department store.
餐畢後，Eliza 和他的朋友~Claire 在百貨公司見面，準備一起去雪拚。
They met their friend- Sarah, who was working part-time as a cashier and chatted merrily.
在百貨公司裏，她們遇見一位在這裡打工當收銀員的好友~Sarah。
Just when they got to the dresses department, and was about to do some serious shopping, Eliza received a phone call from her mother.
正當她們逛到服裝區，準備好好的雪拚時，Eliza 接到了媽媽打來的電話。
"Eliza! Your granny is suddenly visiting today, but neither me nor your dad would be able to get back from work. So, can you go home now and keep her company?"
「你阿嬤今天突然間説要跑來我們家啦！但我和你爸公司都有事，暫時没辦法回家。你可不可以回家陪陪阿嬤啊？」
After Eliza agreed and hung up, she inquired Claire whether she wanted to go to her house and meet her granny, an invitation which Claire gladly accepted.
Eliza 同意後便問Claire 要不要也跟著去她家看看阿嬤。Claire 很快地接受了這個邀請。
Looks like it's going to be busy day for both Eliza and Claire!
看來，Claire 和 Eliza 都會有個忙碌的一天呢！
