Shaun and Jeffrey slowly opened their eyes only to discover that they were tied up in a small, humid and dark room.
孝恩和傑佛瑞緩緩地張開了眼睛，赫然發現他們手腳都被綑綁了起來，在一間小小、暗暗又潮濕的房間裏。
"Where are we?" Jeffrey replied, touching his aching head, came to his senses first and inquired his friend. "How did we get here? I thought we were investigating by the haunted place."
「我們在哪兒啊？」傑佛瑞一邊摸著疼痛的頭，一邊問道。「我們是怎麼來到這裡的呀？我記得我們不是在那個鬧鬼的地方偵查嗎？」
"It's too dark to make out anything in here!" Shaun, who also had an aching head. "Did we pass out because of the scent of the flowers again?"
「這裡伸手不見五指，根本辨別不出地點！」孝恩說。「難到，我們又被花香給燻昏了？」
"But I thought we wore face-masks!" Jeffrey replied, "I........"
「我們不是有帶口罩嗎？」傑佛瑞答道。「我......」
Suddenly, they perceived footsteps, and the creak of a door opening in the near distance. Then, a blinding light was shone into the room, which made Shaun and Jeffrey cover their eyes.
突然間，他們聽見了腳步聲，然後門在不遠處被打開來的聲音。一個超強的光線照進了房間，讓孝恩和傑佛瑞不得不遮住眼睛。
"Hahahahaha! Glad to see you two again, young men! I hope you are well?" A familiar voice spoke.
「哈哈哈哈！很高興再次看到你們呀，年輕人！你們好嗎？」一個熟悉的聲音說。
"Mr Bruce!" Jeffrey, who was acute with the voices of people, immediately recognised the familiar voice, "Thank god you're here! Could you please help us out of this awkward position?"
「布魯斯先生！」很會辨別聲音的傑佛瑞馬上認出了說話的人。「謝天謝地你來了！請你幫我們鬆綁吧！」
By this time, their eyes were already accustomed to the light, and they saw clearly Mr Bruce standing in front of them, with a crooked smile on his face, holding a long stick and a lamp on his hands.
這時，他們倆的眼睛也慢慢習慣了光線，很清楚地看到了布魯斯先生，臉上掛著詭異的笑容、手裏拿著一根長長的棍子、以及一盞提燈，站在他們面前。
"He is not here to help us!" Shaun said out loud, "He was the one that brought us here!"
「他不是來這兒幫我們的！」孝恩說。「是他把我們帶到這裡來的！」
"Bingo!" Mr Bruce replied, "What a clever young 'un!"
「賓果！」布魯斯先生回答說。「你還挺聰明的嘛！」
"What?" the confused Jeffrey exclaimed.
「什麼？」傑佛瑞疑惑的問道。
"He was the one that set up all those three dimensional projection and made up the entire story of the place being haunted!" Shaun said as he struggled to free himself from the tightly bound ropes, "And now that we've found out his evil plan, he is taking revenge on us!"
「他就是設置那些立體投影設備，並造謠那裡鬧鬼的人！」孝恩一邊努力試圖掙脱綁的很緊的繩子一邊說。「他知道我們發現了他的邪惡計畫，所以要報復我們！」
"Correct again! You are clever aren't you?" Mr Bruce responded, "But not as clever as me! Hahahaha!"
「又答對了！你還真的不是普通的聰明呀！」布魯斯先生回應道。「但是還是没有我聰明！哈哈哈哈！」
"But why would you do such a thing? Surely, it doesn't benefit you in any way?" Jeffrey demanded.
「你究竟爲何要這麼做？這樣對你有什麼好處？」傑佛瑞直問道。
"Huh! Seeing that you two are going to be on your way to hell, I'll tell you if you're so desperate to know!" Mr Bruce snorted. "The reason why I used this legend was because that is the only way to decrease the value of that piece of land. Recently, the owner of that place is planning to sell it; I was planning to buy it in order to extend my hotel to build another swimming pool, but it was way too expensive. By spreading a rumour that the place is haunted, no one else would want to buy it, then the owner will sell it to me by a very cheap price. Hahahahaha! Aren't I clever?"
「哼！眼看你們就即將踏上前往地獄之路了，我就告訴你們吧！」布魯斯先生冷笑道。「我之所以會利用這個傳說是因爲這是唯一能將這塊地的價值降低的方法。最近，地主想要賣掉這塊地，而我計畫著把它買下來擴充我的旅館，讓它增加一個游泳池；但是他開的價格時在太高了！只要放出風聲說這塊地鬧鬼的話，就不會有人想要去買它，這樣地主就會便宜將土地賣給我。哈哈哈哈哈！你說我聰不聰明呀？」
"Now that you've heard about my plan, I will rid you two from the face of the Earth forever!" Mr Bruce continued.
「好啦！現在你們都知道我的計畫了，我就得讓你們倆消失在這個地球上！」布魯斯先生記續說道。
"What are you going to do to us?" Jeffrey demanded.
「你要對我們做什麼？」傑佛瑞怒喊道。
"Oh, nothing much!" Mr Bruce shrugged, "Just let you have a little swim in the well! Hahahahaha!"
「噢，其實也没什麼啦！」布魯斯先聳聳肩說。「只不過就是讓你們在井裏游一下泳罷了！哈哈哈哈！」
Oh no! The young detectives are in danger!!
糟了！神探們有危險了！
