In order to not frighten the prince, Patricia covered her now ugly, green face with a piece of black cloth and hastily went downstairs from her bedchamber. On the grande ball before luncheon, Katrina and Patricia met Prince Audrey, who has just arrived to their palace.

爲了不讓王子受到驚嚇，帕特里夏隨便找了一塊黑布遮住變成深綠色的臉孔後並趕緊下樓梯。在吃午餐前的舞會上，凱崔娜和帕特里夏遇到了剛抵達皇宮的奧德里王子。
Katrina, on seeing the handsome prince, dashed towards him and began to make her salutations. "Good morning, Prince Audrey! I hope you have had a comfortable journey? Welcome to our palace, please make yourself at home here. I am Katrina, nice to meet you!" Completely ignoring to introduce her poor sister, who was shyly standing in a far corner, afraid to get close to the prince due to her ruined appearance.
凱崔娜看見了英俊的王子後馬上飛奔過去打招呼。「早安呀，奧德里王子！您昨晚的旅途還舒服嗎？歡迎來到我們的皇宮！我叫凱崔娜，很高興認識你！」凱崔娜完全忽略了因爲被毀容了而感到害羞、站在角落的妹妹。

The Prince, who perceived Patricia, became very interested in her mysterious figure, inquired. "And who is that timid lady standing over there? Will I have the honour to be acquainted with her?"
王子在遠處看到了帕特里夏後，便對這位神秘的角色感到十分好奇，並問：「站在那邊的害羞女子是誰呢？我有這個榮幸認識她嗎？」

Katrina, after glancing backwards at her sister disdainfully, turned to the prince and replied in a soothing tone, "Oh! That's just my younger sister! Patricia, come over here and meet Prince Audrey!"
凱崔娜用不屑的眼神往帕特里夏的方向喵了一眼後，轉過身來對王子說：「噢！她是我的妹妹啦！帕特里夏，還不快點兒過來和王子打聲招呼！」

Patricia gracefully walked towards the Prince and bowed, when she looked up, her eyes and those of the prince met, and they suddenly fell in love with each other at first sight.
帕特里夏優雅地走向王子後，鞠了躬。當她抬起頭時，她和王子的眼睛對上，兩人一見鍾情。

"Is your face alright, Princess Patricia? Is that because of an allergy?" the Prince inquired.

"Oh! She got a disease when she was little that turned her face like this forever," Katrina lied, and glared at Patricia in case she would say something different to her explanation and continued, "Anyways, it's not important! You must be extremely exhausted after your long journey, let's go and get ourselves some refreshments, then I'll show you around our palace!"
「噢！她小時候得了一種病後臉就永遠變成這樣了！」凱崔娜撒謊道，並趁王子不注意時，瞪了帕特里夏一眼，以免她的謊言被揭穿。「那個不重要啦！王子您一定很累了！我們趕緊去那邊歇一歇吧！等會兒我再帶您參觀我們的皇宮！」
「噢！她小時候得了一種病後臉就永遠變成這樣了！」凱崔娜撒謊道，並趁王子不注意時，瞪了帕特里夏一眼，以免她的謊言被揭穿。「那個不重要啦！王子您一定很累了！我們趕緊去那邊歇一歇吧！等會兒我再帶您參觀我們的皇宮！」
The devious Katrina always did her best in preventing the Prince from gaining any contact with her sister, in case Patricia will tell him anything negative about herself; however, the Prince remained extremely interested in this mysterious, face-covered lady, and always brought the conversation towards her.
小心眼的凱崔娜一直設法避免王子和帕特里夏有任何的交談，以免帕特里夏會對王子說一些對自己不利的事情。然而，王子依舊對這個神秘的蒙面女郎十分有好感，時常將話題轉到她的身上。
On the other hand, Katrina always made excuses for herself and the prince to be together, she even daringly asked the prince for a dance instead of the other way round! Whilst they were dancing, Patricia thought to herself, "If Katrina and Prince Audrey both love each other so much, then, I wholeheartedly wish them happiness. I stand no chance in winning the prince's heart in my current appearance. But everything is fine, as I have already made up my mind to sacrifice myself for Katrina when I drank her potion. I will not regret my decision."
在另一方面，凱崔娜也常常製造機會讓自己和王子在一起，她還大膽地邀請王子跳舞，而不等待王子來邀請她。他們在跳舞時，帕特里夏心想：「如果姊姊和奧德里王子是真心相愛的話，我誠心誠意的祝福他們。我現在這副模樣是無法贏得王子的心了！但是，一切都不要緊。我當初決定了犧牲自己，是爲了成全姊姊的幸福纔會喝下毒藥的。我絕對不會反悔的！」
In fact, Patricia, who was extremely skillful with herbs, knew before she drank Katrina's potion that the latter intended to cause damage to her appearance. However, after she secretly found out about her half-sister's true identity at the age of ten, she felt extremely sorry for her. She sincerely and without any trace of regret sacrificed her own future for her half-sister's in order to secure the latter's happiness.
事實上，精通各種藥草用途的帕特里夏在聞到凱崔娜給她的『果汁』時，她就知道那是會毀容的毒藥。可是，當她在十歲時無意間發現了姊姊的身世後，就一直對她感到十分愧疚。於是，帕特里夏無怨無悔犧牲了自己讓姊姊能夠得到幸福。
Nevertheless, the prince was not so fast in giving up the mysterious lady. Before the fortnight of the prince's stay was up, his father, the King from the neighbouring kingdom, demanded for his son's final choice. Despite his son's begging of allowing him more time, his father insisted in him picking Katrina for his bride.
然而，王子尚未這麼快放棄這位蒙面女士。在王子來到這個王國第十三天的晚上，王子的爸爸，也就是鄰國的國王，要求自己的兒子做決定。雖然奧德里王子懇求父王再給他多點兒時間做決定，國王堅持要他選澤凱崔娜做王妃。
"Do you have any other doubts, my dear Audrey? Look at that sister of hers, she may have some contagious disease that we don't know of. Why would you even consider a pile of dung over a pretty flower? I will make the most obvious and the best decision for you. Marry Katrina!" the King ordered.
「你還在考慮什麼呀，我親愛的奧德里？你看看她那個妹妹，說不定有什麼會傳染的疾病也不一定。你爲何會捨棄一朶美麗的鮮花去選一坨屎呢？我會爲你做很明顯的、也是對你最好的決定，就是和凱崔娜成婚！」國王命令道。
Will Prince Audrey do as he was told and marry the malevolent Katrina instead of his true love?
奧德里王子究竟會不會聽他父王的話和心狠手辣的凱崔娜結婚而拋棄了自己的真愛呢？
