After some time of struggling, the spies decided that they've had enough. Each performed their best martial-arts trick, and in the blink of an eye, the kidnapper-fairies were all lying on the grass, with smoke coming out of various parts of their bodies.
"They're robots!" exclaimed Eliza. "No wonder they're so pretty! Surely, no real humans can be that beautiful?"
"Unless they've all been to Korea for plastic surgery....." remarked Claire with her usual satirical tone.
"Now what?" questioned Eliza as she glanced around.
"We have to find Dr Marlow as soon as possible before she's up to more mischief," concluded Emily, pulling a serious face.
Suddenly, Claire perceived a moving object amongst the flowers. After squinting hard under the bright sunshine, Claire discovered that it was the figure of a woman dressed in different shades of green, wearing a sunflower-shaped hat with her back to them, moving agilely in-between each flowerbed.
"Um, excuse me, ma'am," said Claire after clearing her throat. "I think we're lost.....could you tell us where we are?"
To the awe and horror of the spies, the lady slowly turned around to reveal a yellow face.
"For goodness' sake!" exclaimed Eliza in exasperation. "Please, not another weirdo!"
Suddenly, Emily exclaimed: "Dr Marlow!" Only then did the spies recognise that the bizarrely dressed woman was no other than the professor whose lecture they had attended that very morning!
On hearing her name, Dr Marlow's lip curled up slightly and spoke: "I have been expecting you."
"What? How did you know that we're coming?" queried the baffled Eliza.
"I have deliberately left an identical jar inside the flower-tower so you can be lured into my trap," explicated Dr Marlow. "Looks like you're not too stupid after all, as only people with enough intelligence can crack my code."
"What are you gonna do to us?" demanded Claire.
As a reply, Dr Marlow clapped her hands. Without warning, a gigantic purple flower appeared out of the flowerbeds and started to advance towards them, with its petals wide apart, revealing rows of pointed teeth inside.
"OMG! I've dealt with lunatics and robots, but never mobile man-eating plants with a foul breath!" screamed Eliza.
"Have you ever considered brushing your teeth?" remarked Claire, pinching her nose in disgust.
