Playmobil Detectives: Rapunzel - The Demon Ship-1

One warm, sunny, Monday morning, Claire and Eliza, third-year university students, were doing their placements in the same office. That particular morning, Claire was sorting some documents when her phone rang.

She walked briskly to a quiet corner to answer her phone, only to realise that it was a video-call from her high-school classmate - Tiffany.

"OMG, finally someone is answering her phone!" Tiffany, who was lazily lying on a deckchair in her garden, enjoying the warm sunshine, exclaimed after Claire picked up. Her voice was so loud that the entire office heard her. Thus, Claire quickly lowered the volume and put on her earphones.

"Hush, Tiffany! What d'you want?" answered Claire, slightly annoyed by this untimely call.

"I kept calling Eliza but she wouldn't pick up. What's the point of having a phone but not answering calls?" replied Tiffany, shrugging. "I was only tryna ask her Jeffrey's number - that's all! Don't think that I would want to call her if it wasn't for ma Jeffie!"

"We're working, ok? She probably turned her phone on silent mode, so she didn't hear your calls," whispered Claire.

"Working? Whoa....that's sooooo corny!! I mean.......who would wanna work in this damn fine weather?" Tiffany responded as she brushed back her hair.

"Well, says you the rich-ass girl that doesn't have to worry about her future career!" retorted Claire, already fed-up with Tiffany's complaints. "I'll tell you what, if you don't have anything important to say, I'm gonna hang up, cos I've gotta get back to work."

"No, no, no, WAIT!" shouted Tiffany so loudly that Claire was quite certain everyone in the office could hear her voice through the earphones. "Call Eliza over, I NEED Jeffie's number as he wouldn't add me on Facebook or Instagram and he doesn't have a Twitter. Anyway, I have a case for him."

After hearing this, Claire sighed and peeked out from her 'hiding place' in search of Eliza. After locating her target, Claire whispered Eliza's name, but the latter was too concentrated on her work that she didn't hear anything. Only when Claire almost shouted out Eliza's name, causing everyone in the office to glance up annoyingly at her, did she manage to draw the latter's attention.

After Eliza's arrival, Claire was about to give her friend her phone and go back to work when Tiffany said, "No, Claire, you gotta stay here and listen, too. You two, share earphones so you can both hear me."

Claire sighed as she received one earphone from Eliza, "You'd better be quick!"

"Well, my dad bought this ship to furnish his soon-opening fairground in Shropshire to become a 'haunted ship' - you know those 'haunted houses' in fairgrounds? Well, they're so outdated and....." Tiffany paused after seeing Claire's cold and impatient expression, "Well, anyways, apparently that ship he bought turned out to be really haunted. So I need ma dearest Jeffie - the best supernatural detective to come and investigate it for me."

"I'll give you Jeffrey's number so you can contact him directly," said Eliza laconically.

"NO! You don't understand, do you? You two gotta come as well! Or else Jeffie won't agree to help me!" complained Tiffany. "I've already booked a café for today's meeting. BTW it's at four! Don't forget to come! Ttyl!" After Tiffany finished speaking, she hung up, leaving Claire and Eliza standing there, looking at each other whilst trying to figure out an excuse to let their boss let them go early that day.
