In the evening, the two detectives were invited to stay for dinner, Jennifer cooked a whole table of Vietnamese Cuisine, which she said to have learnt how to cook from her mother. It was when they were all enjoying the Pho (Vietnamese Noodle Soup) that Jennifer suddenly screamed as she pointed to the window. To everyone's horror, there was a figure standing there. From the interior light, one could vaguely see that she had long, braided hair down to her waist, was wearing a modern wedding dress, and had a blank face without eyes, looking into the dining room.
Shaun and Jeffrey immediately rushed out into the garden where the ghost was supposed to be standing, but no one was to be found. Then, the old maid appeared to find out what the din was about.

"No, miss. I no see. I in my room. Hear noise, run out." Hoa replied.
"Is there another door to the garden?" Jeffrey inquired, "Where did Hoa just come from?"
"Yes, there is a door from Hoa's room that leads to the kitchen, and another door in the kitchen that leads to the garden." Jake explained. "Sorry, we missed the kitchen and Hoa's room when we were touring the house. Hoa, would you mind if they come and see your room?"
Jeffrey seemed to have perceived a flicker of reluctance in the old maid's eyes, but it soon faded into a smile, "Yes, yes, welcome!"
When they had finished their interrupted dinner, Shaun and Jeffrey thanked them for their hospitality and stood up to go. Jake offered to get a cab for them to the train station heading back to London. As they strolled out into the garden, Jake suddenly whispered. "I have a hunch that this ghost was a previous owner of the villa. When my father bought it, it was suspiciously cheap and it could well be because it was haunted. I dared not tell Jennifer this, in case she'll freak out, but I have a feeling that this spectre was a bride who committed suicide on her wedding day for some reason, possibly because her fiancé ditched her or something, so she couldn't bear to see anyone getting married and be happy, which could be the reason why she always appeared when Jennifer was alone and there was no one to protect her. Shaun and Jeffrey, please do your best to help us get rid of this spirit. But, I don't hope much. So, if it can't be gotten rid of, we'll just move to another place left by my father. I really can't let this trivial event postpone our wedding for too long."
The arrival of a cab concluded Jake's speech, as Shaun and Jeffrey hopped in, the former waved them goodbye.
