The following morning, bleary eyed and bushy tailed, the group of friends woke up early, got dressed and arrived at the venue for the wedding - a small, local church in Taipei. They started decorating the venue and preparing for the commencement of the ceremony.
About an hour before the appointed time of the wedding, the small door of the church opened and a woman dressed in Chinese traditional Qipao walked in.
"OMG, grandma, you look fabulous!" exclaimed Blythe in amazement.
"Thank you, Blythe! How's all the preparation going?" enquired the old lady. "Is there anything I can help with? We have to get everything ready before the auspicious hour, when the bride and groom will enter the church."
"The priest hasn't arrived yet!" said Shaun.
"He texted me this morning, saying that he will not be able to come," said Claire.
"Oh no! Then, what should we do?" exclaimed Eliza.
"Don't worry, as this is not a real wedding, I can preside it," replied Blythe's grandma after some moments of contemplation. "As Christianity was not very popular in Taiwan back in the 1880s, I don't think Ahuey would notice anything wrong."
"I hope she won't complain," replied Claire.
"I doubt that she will, as we've promised her a wedding, not a Taiwanese traditional wedding," responded Shaun. "I'm sure we'll be fine!"
