參觀完了國立故宮博物院，大夥兒前往知名的士林夜市嚐嚐道地的臺灣小吃。

「噢買尬，我吃了那麼多台灣美食都要發胖了啦！」Claire 看著各個攤販上賣的琳瑯滿目的美食後說。

「那你應該去聞聞臭豆腐。保證妳聞完後，食慾全消！」布萊開玩笑道。

「這主意挺不錯噠！」傑佛瑞回答道。「我早以久聞臭豆腐的大名，可是卻一直没有機會嘗試。這次，我倒想聞看看它到底有多臭！」

傑佛瑞纔剛說畢，大夥兒立刻經過了一間販賣『深坑臭豆腐』的店。臭豆腐濃濃的味道撲鼻而來，彷彿在挑戰大家是否有膽來嚐鮮。

「哇～這眞是出乎我所料的臭啊！」傑佛瑞被臭豆腐的味道嚇了一跳說。「好吧！我決定接受挑戰。走吧，我們進去吃一塊臭豆腐看看！反正也不會少一塊肉。」

大夥兒跟著傑佛瑞走進了店裏，蒂芬尼全程一直揑著鼻子。然而，當大家嚐到臭豆腐軟嫩的滋味時，立刻就迷上了這道佳餚。

「其實，吃起來也不賴嘛！」Eliza 邊吃邊說。

「請再來一碗臭豆腐！」蒂芬尼揮著手說。

Après leur visite au Musée national du Palais, le groupe d'amis décida de se rendre au célèbre marché de nuit de Shilin pour goûter à la nourriture de rue taïwanaise authentique (Xiao Chi en chinois).

"Oh mon Dieu, je pense que je commence à grossir avec tous ces délicieux plats taïwanais", s'exclama Claire en jetant un coup d'œil autour des étals, proposant toutes sortes de plats savoureux qui la tentaient avec leurs odeurs aromatiques.

"Alors tu devrais probablement sentir un peu de tofu puant. De cette façon, tu perdras probablement tout ton appétit!" répondit Blythe en plaisantant.

"En fait, ce n'est pas une mauvaise idée!" répondit Jeffrey. "J'ai beaucoup entendu parler de ce plat légendaire, mais je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de l'essayer. J'aimerais voir à quel point ça peut être puant!"

Juste après que Jeffrey eut fini de parler, le groupe d'amis passa devant un étal de nourriture vendant du tofu puant de Shen Keng. Immédiatement, l'odeur piquante leur frappa le nez, comme si elle leur demandait de goûter au plat infâme.

"Whoa, c'est totalement inattendu!" s'exclama Jeffrey, surpris par le puissant arôme. "Défi accepté! Allez les gars, il n'y a rien à perdre, allons-y et commandons du tofus puants."

Le groupe d'amis suivit Jeffrey à contrecœur dans le restaurant, Tiffany se tenant le nez à fond. Néanmoins, après avoir pris une bouchée du succulent tofu en tenant le nez, ils étaient immédiatement enchantés par son goût unique.

"C'est pas aussi mauvais que j'pensais, en fait!" dit Eliza en prenant une autre bouchée.

"Un autre bol de tofu puant, s'il te plaît!" ordonna Tiffany après avoir dévoré sa part.

After their visit to the National Palace Museum, the group of friends decided to head to the famous Shilin Night Market to taste some Xiao Chi, a.k.a. authentic Taiwanese street food. 

"OMG, I think I'm getting fat with all these delicious Taiwanese food," exclaimed Claire as she glanced around the stalls, which offered all kinds of tasty food that were tempting her with their aromatic smells. 

"Then you should probably go smell some Stinky Tofu. That way, you'll probably lose all your appetite!" replied Blythe jokingly. 

"Actually, it's not a bad idea!" answered Jeffrey. "I've heard a lot about that legendary dish, but never got the chance to try it. I'd like to see just how stinky it can be!" 

Right after Jeffrey had finished talking, the group of friends passed a food stall selling Sheng Keng Stinky Tofu. Immediately, the pungent smell hit their noses, as if challenging them to taste the infamous dish. 

"Whoa, that's totally unexpected!" exclaimed Jeffrey, quite taken aback by the powerful aroma. "Challenge accepted! C'mon guys, there's nothing to lose, let's head in and order some stinky tofus." 

The group of friends reluctantly followed Jeffrey into the store with Tiffany holding her nose all the way. Nevertheless, after they've taken a bite of the succulent tofu whilst holding their noses, they were immediately enchanted by its unique taste. 

"It's not as bad as I thought, actually!" said Eliza, taking another bite. 

"Another bowl of stinky tofu, please!" ordered Tiffany after she devoured her portion.

大夥兒走進了一間餐廳，各點了一碗麵後，便坐下來開始討論他們下一個景點。

「你們等一下想去哪裡呀？」布萊問道。

「嗯～身為歷史系的畢業生，我自然想造訪國立故宮博物院，去看看那些中國封建時期所遺留下來的精美文物。」傑佛瑞答道。

「那間博物館有什麼特別的嗎？照理說，大部份有名的中國歷史文物應該都在中國大陸吧？」Eliza 一邊喝著珍珠奶茶，一邊說，

「那是個迷思！事實上，現今規模最龐大的中國古代文物並非在大陸，而在臺灣！」孝恩解釋道。「1949年國共內戰結束後，中國國民黨帶著當時紫禁城裏最稀有、最珍貴的歷史文物飄洋過海到了臺灣。」

「可是，較大項的文物應該都還在大陸吧？因爲那些這麼重，很難坐船度過台灣海峽。」Claire 問道。

「在1960年代之前，此言的確屬實。然而，當文化大革命在大陸爆發後，大批的古文物都被毀了。所幸，當時被運到台灣的文物都從這場浩劫倖存了下來！」傑佛瑞回答說。「在文革60多年後的今天，位在臺北的國立故宮博物院被視為擁有世界最大的中國古代文物的博物館。全館包含了範圍超過6000年的中國文物，從新石器時代到清朝的應有盡有。」

就在這時，他們點的食物來了。孝恩點了一碗台灣牛肉麵，傑佛瑞則點了臺南擔仔麵，其份量大的誇張，讓女生們都開始擔心自己點太多了。這時候，蒂芬尼吃完了蚵仔麵後，走進餐廳。

「蒂芬尼，妳來得正是時候！」Eliza 喊道。「快來幫我吃這超大碗的牛肉麵，我自己是不可能吃得完的！」

Le groupe d'amis entrèrent dans un restaurant qui avait de la cuisine taïwanaise authentique. Après avoir commandé chacun un bol de nouilles, le groupe d'amis commença à discuter de leurs destinations à venir.

"Alors, où voulez-vous aller ensuite?" s'enquit Blythe.

"Hmmm, étant un diplômé en histoire, j'aimerais naturellement visiter le Musée National du Palais et voir les étonnants artefacts impériaux chinois qu'il a à offrir", déclara Jeffrey pensivement.

"Qu'est-ce qu'il y a de si spécial dans ce musée? Sûrement, la plupart des anciens artefacts impériaux chinois célèbres sont en Chine?" dit Eliza en sirotant son thé aux perles.

"C'est ce que l'on penserait, mais en fait, la plus grande collection d'antiquités chinoises ne se trouve plus en Chine continentale, mais à Taïwan!" répondit Shaun. "Après la guerre civile chinoise en 1949, le chef du KMT - Tchang Kaï-Chek a emporté avec lui les œuvres d'art les plus raffinées et les plus fragiles de l'antiquité chinoise de La Cité Interdite et s'est retiré à Taïwan."

"Mais, sûrement, les plus gros doivent toujours être en Chine, car ils n'auraient pas pu être transportés à travers le détroit de Taïwan?" demanda Claire.

"C'était vrai jusqu'aux années 1960, lorsque la révolution culturelle dirigée par les communistes faisait rage en Chine, provoquant la destruction d'une grande partie des anciens artefacts chinois. Heureusement, ceux de Taiwan ont été sauvés de la catastrophe!" Jeffrey élucida. "Aujourd'hui, près de 60 ans après la Révolution Culturelle, le Musée National du Palais de Taipei est considéré comme ayant la plus grande collection d'antiquités chinoises au monde, qui s'étend sur plus de 6000 ans, du néolithique à la dynastie Qing."

En ce moment, leur nourriture était servie. Shaun commanda un bol de soupe aux nouilles au boeuf et Jeffrey commanda des nouilles Ta-a taïwanaises. La taille des portions était si grande que les filles commençaient à s'inquiéter de pouvoir finir de manger, lorsque Tiffany, après avoir fini sa vermicelle aux huîtres, entra dans le restaurant à leur recherche.

"Le timing parfait pour une fois, Tiffany!" s'exclama Eliza. "Viens m'aider à finir ce bol de soupe de nouilles au bœuf taïwanaise! Il est impossible que je le finisse toute seule."

The group of friends entered a restaurant selling authentic Taiwanese food. After having each ordered a bowl of noodles, the group of friends started discussing their upcoming destinations. 

"So, where do you guys want to head next?" enquired Blythe. 

"Hmmm, let's see, being a history major graduate, I'd naturally want to visit the National Palace Museum and view the amazing ancient Chinese imperial artifacts it has to offer," said Jeffrey pensively. 

"What's so special about that museum? Surely, most of the famous ancient Chinese imperial artifacts are in China?" said Eliza, as she sipped on her bubble tea. 

"That's what one would think, but in fact, the greatest collection of Chinese antiquities is now not in mainland China, but in Taiwan!" replied Shaun. "After the Chinese civil war in 1949, the leader of the KMT - Chiang Kai-shek took the finest and most fragile pieces of artwork of Chinese antiquity from the forbidden city with him and retreated to Taiwan."

"But, surely, the bigger ones must still be in the mainland, as they couldn't have been transported across the Taiwan Strait?" asked Claire.

"That was true, until the 1960s, when the Cultural Revolution led by the Communists raged in China, causing a huge portion of Chinese ancient artifacts to be completely destroyed. Luckily, the ones in Taiwan were saved from the catastrophe!" elucidated Jeffrey. "Now, nearly 60 years after the Cultural Revolution, the National Palace Museum in Taipei is regarded as having the world’s greatest collection of Chinese antiquities, ranging over 6000 years from the Neolithic age to the Qing dynasty."

At this moment, their food was served. Shaun ordered a bowl of Beef Noodle Soup and Jeffrey ordered Taiwanese Ta-a Noodles. The portion sizes was so large that the girls were starting to worry if they could actually finish their food, when Tiffany, after having finished her Oyster Vermicelli, walked into the restaurant, looking for them. 

"Perfect timing for once, Tiffany!" exclaimed Eliza. "Come and help me finish this bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup! There's no way I can finish this on my own."

隔天，經過了一晚的休息後，在導遊布萊的帶領下，大夥兒繼續他們在台北旅遊的行程。

早上十點，大家吃完了由布萊的外婆貼心準備的台灣式豐富早餐～蔥油餅、燒餅、以及手工豆漿後，大家走到了臺北市政府提供的大眾自行車共享服務～Youbike自行車站。除了不會騎單車的蒂芬尼得坐在Claire的自行車後座以外，他們都各租了一台腳踏車，並決定踩著單車一一造訪台北的著名觀光旅遊景點及地標。

他們的第一站是位於臺北市中正區的中正紀念堂，是爲紀念已故前中華民國總統蔣中正而興建的建築，也是台北著名的旅遊景點。大家在大廳看完了衛兵交接後，趕緊照了一張團體照，到此一遊。

他們下一個景點離中正紀念堂不遠，是家喻戶曉的西門町商圈。以年輕族群爲主要的消費對象，西門町是台灣的時尚新潮流及次文化的中心，每年吸引了許多國際觀光客以自助旅行造訪此處。

「哇！這裡就像倫敦的蘇活區啊！」Eliza 看著各式各樣的商店裡面所陳設的琳瑯滿目的商品說。

「難怪大家都說這裡是臺北的『原宿』，」前一年纔剛去過日本旅遊的傑佛瑞說。「可是，我覺得西門町更有魅力！」

突然，大家發現蒂芬尼不見了！
「眞是的，蒂芬尼跑到哪裡去啦？」Eliza 四處張望了一番，卻還是不見她高中同學的蹤影。「她這個麻煩精，一定是在人群中迷路了！」

「呵呵，別擔心，她在那兒呢！」布萊指著一個賣台灣蚵仔麵線的攤販笑著說。事實上，蒂芬尼走著走著，早餐吃的東西都全消化完了。正當她感到肚子餓時，就聞到了蚵仔麵線的香味，於是便迫不及待地去排隊了。

「哇！現在已經中午十二點半啦！」孝恩瞄了一眼手錶後說。「看來蒂芬尼的肚子比我的手錶還準呢！」大家都笑了。

Le lendemain, après avoir pris un repos bien mérité après 14 heures de vol, le groupe d'amis procéda à leur visite de la ville de Taipei, dirigée par Blythe.

Vers 10h, après un petit déjeuner taïwanais traditionnel et équilibré composé du célèbre œuf Pancake (Cong You Bing), du pain plat (Shao Bing) et du lait de soja fait maison - tous préparés par la grand-mère de Blythe, Blythe emmena ses amis dans une station Youbike, un service public de partage de vélos offert par le gouvernement de la ville de Taipei. Ils louèrent chacun un vélo, à l'exception de Tiffany qui ne savait pas comment en conduire un et qui devait s'asseoir à l'arrière du vélo de Claire et décidèrent de faire du vélo autour de Taipei tout en visitant des attractions touristiques célèbres.

On the following day, after having had a well-deserved rest from the 14-hour flight, the group of friends proceeded with their city tour in Taipei led by Blythe.

At around 10am, after a wholesome, traditional Taiwanese breakfast consisted of the famous Egg Pancake (Cong You Bing), Flatbread (Shao Bing) and homemade soya milk - all prepared by Blythe's grandma, Blythe took her friends to a Youbike station, which is a public bicycle sharing service offered by the Taipei City Government. They each rented a bicycle, except for Tiffany who did not know how to ride one and had to sit on the back of Claire's bicycle, and decided to cycle around Taipei whilst visiting famous tourist attractions and landmarks.

Their first destination was the well-known Chiang Kai-shek Memorial hall, a national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China. After watching the guard mounting ceremony in the main hall, they took a group photo of this special building. 

Their next destination, which was very close to the memorial hall, was the shopping district of Ximending, which is the go-to place for young Taiwanese people, as it is the hub of Taiwan's fashion and subculture.

"Wow, this is just like the Soho district in London," marvelled Eliza as she glanced at the wide variety of stalls selling all sorts of things, from "I love Taiwan" T-Shirts and Japanese comic books to vintage records.

"No wonder they say this is the Harajuku of Taipei," mused Jeffrey, who had been to Japan the year before. "But, somehow, I feel like Ximending has even more charm."

Suddenly, they discovered that Tiffany was missing.
"OMG, where's Tiffany? " enquired Eliza as she glanced around, but couldn't perceive her high-school classmate. "Oh, bother! She must've got lost in the crowd!"

"Don't worry, she's over there!" smiled Blythe as she pointed at a food stall selling Taiwanese oyster vermicelli. In fact, Tiffany, after walking around for such a long time, began to feel hungry and was tempted by the aromatic smell of the delicious noodles served with savoury oyster soup.

"Wow, it's half past twelve already!" exclaimed Shaun after glancing at his watch. "Looks like Tiffany's tummy is better at telling the time than my watch." They all laughed.

蒂芬尼終於決定她的室友後，Claire 和布萊的外婆帶著她們到走廊另一端的房間。這間臥室雖小，卻非常溫馨，裏面擺了一張雙人床、舒適的單人沙發，還有一扇窗戶，可以眺望臺北市摩登的天際線。

「哇！這間臥室超讚的，謝謝姥姥！」Claire 說。

「我就知道你會喜歡，這間臥室是你媽媽以前的房間呢！」老太太笑著說。

Après que Tiffany ait choisi sa colocataire pendant son séjour à Taïwan, la grand-mère de Claire et Blythe les emmenèrent dans une autre chambre dans le même couloir. C'était une chambre petite mais confortable avec un lit double, un fauteuil et une grande fenêtre donnant sur le skyline moderne de Taipei.

"Wow! J'adore cette pièce, merci beaucoup, Mamie!" dit Claire

"Je savais que tu aimerais, car c'était la chambre de ta mère avant qu'elle ne se marie!" répondit la vieille dame taïwanaise en souriant comme si elle était perdue dans ses pensées nostalgiques.

After Tiffany has decided upon her roommate, Claire and Blythe's grandma took them to another bedroom on the same corridor. It was a small but cozy bedroom with a double bed, a comfortable armchair and a large window overlooking Taipei's modern skyline.

"Wow! I love this room, thanks so much, grandma!" said Claire.

"I knew you'd like it, as this was your mum's room before she got married!" replied the old lady, smiling, as if lost in nostalgic thoughts.

「噢，對了！不好意思讓你們在外面站這麼久。趕緊進來坐吧！」布萊的外婆說。「我帶你們參觀一下寒舍，你們可以挑完房間、把行李放好，就可以好好兒休息一下了。坐了這麼久的飛機，你們肯定累壞了！」

說畢，外婆便帶領著大家進入她住的公寓裏。雖然公寓有許多間空房，然而卻非常溫馨，讓大夥兒頓時感覺彷彿回到自己家一般的舒適。老太太先帶大家走進一間摩登臥室，其內部擺了兩張單人床以及一個衣櫃，還有一扇很大的窗戶，透過窗戶可以眺望臺北市中心的城市天際線。

「這間臥室給男生們住！」布萊的外婆說。

「哇！這裡的風景太美了！」傑佛瑞立刻走向窗邊說。「我特別喜歡擁有多棟獨特摩天大廈的臺北天際線。哇！從這個角度還可以看見台北101呢！」

「我就知道你會喜歡！」老太太笑著說。「好了！現在去看看女生的房間吧！」

"Oups, désolée de vous garder ici si longtemps," continua la grand-mère. "Je vais vous montrer mon appartement et vous emmener dans vos chambres pour que vous puissiez y laisser vos bagages et vous rafraîchir un peu. Vous devez être très épuisés après un vol si long!"

Tout en parlant, la grand-mère de Blythe les conduisit à l'intérieur de son appartement et leur montra leurs chambres respectives. Malgré beaucoup de chambres était inutilisées dans l'appartement, elles étaient si propres et confortables que le groupe d'amis se sentirent immédiatement comme à sa propre maison dès leur arrivée.

La grand-mère de Blythe les conduisit d'abord à une chambre moderne avec deux lits séparés et une armoire. La chambre avait une grande fenêtre donnant sur le centre-ville de Taipei, mettant en valeur son skyline moderne.

"Cette pièce est pour les garçons", présenta la grand-mère de Blythe.

"Wow! J'adore la vue ici!" admira Jeffrey qui regarda immédiatement par la fenêtre. "J'aime beaucoup le skyline de Taipei, avec ses nombreux gratte-ciels uniques. Regarde! On peut même voir le célèbre Taipei 101 sous cet angle!"

"Je suis content que vous l'aimez!" sourit la grand-mère taïwanaise avec bienveillance. "Maintenant, nous passons aux chambres des filles."

"Oops, sorry for keeping you out here for so long," continued Grandma. "I'll show you around my apartment and take you to your rooms so you can leave your luggage there and freshen up a bit. You must be all very exhausted after such a long flight!"

Whilst speaking, Blythe's grandma led them inside the flat and showed them their rooms. Despite having many unused bedrooms in the flat, they were so clean and cozy such that the group of friends immediately felt right at home the moment they stepped in.

Blythe's grandma first led them inside a modernly furnished room with two separate beds and a wardrobe. The room had a large window overlooking Taipei's city centre, showcasing its glamorous skyline.

"This room here is for the boys," introduced Blythe's grandma.

"Wow! I love the view here!" admired Jeffrey as he immediately looked out of the window. "I really like Taipei's skyline as it has so many unique-looking skyscrapers. Wow! We can even see the famous Taipei 101 from this angle!"

"I'm glad you like it!" smiled Blythe's grandma benevolently. "Now, let's move on to the girls' rooms."

大約於臺北時間下午3:30，飛機降落於台灣桃園國際機場。飛機降落前，傑佛瑞就已經照了好多張臺灣海岸的美麗空拍相片。他們下了飛機，抵達移民署時，看見了那裡大排長龍。沒耐性的蒂芬尼又開始抱怨道：「噢買尬啊！這麼多人，要等到什麼時候啊？」

然而，令他們驚訝的是：移民官的動作都非常快速，再加上中華民國國民可以自動通關，不到半小時後，大夥兒不僅通關了，也領到了自己的托運行李。這次，蒂芬尼罕見地完全沒有抱怨。當他們抵達入境大廳時，他們驚訝地發現一名熟悉的身影正在向他們招手。

「布萊！好久不見！」Claire 看見她的表妹後說。「沒想到妳會來機場接我們！」

「那是當然要得囉！」布萊回答道。「就算台灣的路標指示都相當清楚，我還是怕你們會迷路。更何況我還可以充當你們的導遊，帶你們在台灣四處逛逛。如果各位有特別想去的景點，一定要告訴我哦！」

「有！我要去廁所！」蒂芬尼說。

「直走、右轉！」布萊答道。

「哇！我聽說過台灣人都很善良，倒不知道他們也這麼好客。」Eliza 小聲地跟傑佛瑞說。

Vers 15h30, heure normale de Taipei, le groupe d'amis atterrirent à l'Aéroport International Taiwan-Taoyuan. Avant d'atterrir, Jeffrey avait déjà commencé à prendre des photos aériennes de la côte pittoresque de Taïwan depuis son siège dans l'avion.

En arrivant aux comptoirs d’immigration, ils aperçurent une foule immense. "Mon dieu! Combien de temps doit-on attendre?" se plaint Tiffany.

Néanmoins, à leur grand étonnement, les agents d'immigration étaient si efficaces qu'ils se retrouvèrent vite face à l'immigration et récupérèrent leurs bagages sur les tapis roulants en moins d'une demi-heure. Cette fois, même Tiffany ne s'est pas plainte. Après être sortis du terminal des arrivées, ils aperçurent une silhouette familière qui leur faisait signe de la main.

"Blythe! Mon dieu! Je t'ai pas vu depuis si longtemps!" s'écria Claire après avoir aperçu sa cousine. "Je ne m'attendais pas à ce que tu viennes nous chercher à l'aéroport."

"Bien sûr que je serai là pour venir vous chercher!" dit Blythe après la fin des salutations. "Bien que les signes ici soient très clairs, je ne voudrais toujours pas que vous vous perdiez, non? De plus, je serai votre guide pendant votre séjour à Taïwan. Si vous voulez aller quelque part à Taïwan, dites-le moi et je vous emmènerai là-bas!"

"J'veux aller aux toilettes!" s'exclama Tiffany en levant la main pour parler.

"Tout droit, puis tourne à droite!" répondit Blythe.

"Wow! J'ai entendu dire que les gens taïwanais étaient vraiment sympathiques, mais je savais pas qu'ils étaient aussi si hospitaliers!" murmura Eliza à Jeffrey.

At around 3:30pm Taipei standard time, the group of friends landed at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Before landing, Jeffrey had already started taking some aerial photos of Taiwan's picturesque coastline from his seat in the plane.

As they got to the immigration counters, they perceived a huge crowd. "OMG! How long are we gonna have to wait?" complained Tiffany. 

Nevertheless, to their astonishment, the efficiency of the immigration officers were so high such that they soon found themselves having passed immigration and reclaimed their luggage from the conveyor belts in less than half an hour's time. This time, even Tiffany did not complain. After exiting the arrivals terminal, they perceived a familiar figure waving at them.

"Blythe! OMG! I haven't seen you for ages!" exclaimed Claire after perceiving her cousin. "Haven't expected you to pick us up from the airport."

"Of course I'll be here to pick you guys up!" said Blythe after the salutations were over. "Although the signs are very clear, I still wouldn't want you guys getting lost, haha. Plus, I'll be your tour guide in your stay in Taiwan. If you want to go somewhere in Taiwan, just tell me and I'll take you there!" 

"I want to go to the toilet!" exclaimed Tiffany, raising her hand to speak. 

"Straight ahead, then turn right!" replied Blythe.

"Wow! I've heard Taiwanese people are really friendly, but I didn't know they're so hospitable as well!" whispered Eliza to Jeffrey.

蒂芬尼聽見她『親愛的小傑』讚美別的女生就開始吃飛醋、翻白眼，於是便趕緊轉移話題說：「我要去那邊的免稅店逛逛看這一季有什麼新款的名牌包，小傑，你要不要陪我去啊？」

「不如我們大家都一起去吧！」傑佛瑞不願意單獨陪蒂芬尼去逛逛，所以趕緊說。「等一下要連續坐著14小時，得先去活動一下筋骨！」

於是，大夥兒便拿著珍珠奶茶，開始逛機場免稅店。然而，過了不久後，蒂芬尼又感到無聊，並且開始抱怨道：「天啊！這裡眞是什麼都没賣耶！我家名牌包的款式都比這裡賣的還多！」

Tiffany roula des yeux en devenant jalouse que «son cher Jeffie» admirait les autres filles, elle changea donc rapidement de sujet de conversation.

"J'vais aller à la boutique hors taxe là-bas et vérifie quelques nouveaux sacs à main, tu veux venir avec moi, Jeffie?" demanda Tiffany.

"Euh, pourquoi n'allons pas tous faire une promenade ensemble!" répondit Jeffrey, ne voulant pas y aller seul avec Tiffany. "Nous avons tout le temps de nous asseoir et de nous détendre dans notre vol de 14 heures!"

Le groupe d’amis prirent donc ses thé aux perles taïwanaises avec eux et commença à faire du lèche-vitrine dans les boutiques hors taxes. Néanmoins, Tiffany s'ennuya rapidement.

"Mon dieu, il n'y a rien ici!" se plaint Tiffany en croisant les bras. "J'ai plus de sacs à main dans ma chambre que tout ce magasin!" Eliza roula des yeux.

Tiffany rolled her eyes as she grew jealous of 'her dear Jeffie' admiring other girls, so she quickly changed the topic of conversation.
"Imma go to the duty-free shop there and check out some new handbags, d'you wanna come with me, Jeffie?" asked Tiffany.

"Um, why not let's all go and take a walk together!" replied Jeffrey, unwilling to go alone with Tiffany. "There's plenty of time to sit down and relax in our 14-hour flight!"

So, the group of friends took their bubble tea with them and started doing some window-shopping in the duty-free stores. Nevertheless, Tiffany soon grew bored.

"OMG, they don't have anything here!" complained Tiffany, crossing her arms. "I have more handbags in my room than this whole store!" Eliza rolled her eyes.

最後，蒂芬尼將身上所有珠寶、首飾統統拔除，並在通過安檢門第N次後，警鈴終於不響了。然而，也因此花了大家不少寶貴的時間。於是，大夥兒決定趕緊前往貴賓室休息。正如航空公司地勤所說的，當大夥兒乘著手扶梯抵達二樓時，他們就看到貴賓室的招牌就在左手邊。當他們走近貴賓室的入口處，Eliza 又發現了一張廣告著臺北的海報。

「哇！我都不知道臺北也有這種歐式維多利亞風格的建築物呢！」Eliza 說。

「那是當然的囉！」Claire 回應道。「臺北是一個國際大都會，其文化非常多元化，融合了中國、日本以及許多歐洲國家的建築風格，因爲有很多國際大集團都將企業總部選在這裡。」

「哇！看來，妳旅遊前有先做好功課喔！」Eliza 說。

機場貴賓室內有多種款式的免費食物及飲料供大家享用。
「我的天啊！這兒的食物看起來都挺好吃噠！」Claire 說。「大夥兒有什麼特別想吃的嗎？」

「說實在我眞不餓，」孝恩回應道。「再說，等會兒14小時的飛行途中，飛機上肯定有供應很多餐點。還有，別忘了留點兒肚子給在台灣等咱們的台灣美食吧！」

Enfin, après avoir franchi la porte de sécurité une dizaine de fois, chaque fois qu'elle retira un bijou différent de sa tenue vestimentaire, Tiffany passa avec succès le contrôle de sécurité de l'aéroport et le groupe d'amis décida de passer le reste du temps avant d'embarquer dans le salon VIP de l'aéroport.

Comme l'a dit le préposé au comptoir d'enregistrement, le groupe d'amis aperçut le signe extravagant du salon VIP immédiatement après avoir descendu les escalators. Alors qu'ils approchaient du salon VIP, Eliza aperçut une autre affiche annonçant Taipei à côté.

"Wow! Je savais pas que Taipei possédait également cette architecture de style européen / victorien", songea Eliza.

"Bien sûr que si!" Claire répondit: "Taipei est une métropole mondiale avec un large éventail de cultures, notamment chinoise, japonaise et européenne, où se trouvent de nombreux sièges d'organisations internationales."

"Wow! Il semble que quelqu'un a fait ses recherches!" répondit Eliza.

Après être entrés dans le salon VIP, ils ont découvert qu’il offrait un large choix de plats et de boissons gratuits de différentes cultures.

"Mon dieu! Tout a l'air si bon ici!" dit Claire en jetant un coup d'œil autour du buffet. "Quelqu'un a envie de manger quelque chose?"

"Non, je n'ai pas très faim pour être honnête", répondit Shaun. "En outre, nous serons très bien nourris avec notre vol de 14 heures, sans oublier toutes les spécialités taïwanaises qui nous attendent après notre arrivée à Taïwan."

Finally, after going through the security door around ten times, each time removing a different piece of jewellery from her attire, Tiffany has successfully passed the airport security check and the group of friends decided to spend the remaining time before boarding in the airport VIP Lounge. 

Just as the attendant at the check-in counter had said, the group of friends perceived the extravagant sign of the VIP Lounge immediately after they alighted the escalators. As they approached the VIP Lounge, Eliza perceived another poster advertising Taipei on the side. 

"Wow! I didn't know Taipei has these European/ Victorian style architecture as well," mused Eliza. 

"Of course it does!" replied Claire, "Taipei is a global metropolis with a diverse range of cultures, including Chinese, Japanese and European, as many headquarters of international organisations are located there." 

"Wow! Looks like someone did their research!" replied Eliza. 

After entering the VIP Lounge, they discovered that it offered a wide selection of free food and drinks from a variety of different cultures.

"OMG! Everything looks so tasty here!" said Claire as she glanced around the buffet area. "Anyone fancy something to eat?" 

"Nope, I'm not that hungry to be honest," replied Shaun. "Besides, we'll be very well fed on our 14-hour flight, not to mention all the Taiwanese delicacies waiting for us to enjoy after arriving in Taiwan."

「你去哪兒呀？咱們是坐經濟艙啊！」孝恩説。

「才怪呢！」蒂芬尼答道。「自從上次令人生氣的經驗後，我就決定再也不坐經濟艙了！我決定將小傑和我的票都升等成商務艙，醬子我們就可以坐在一起了。可是，他不答應，他說除非我把大家的票也一起升等。所以～噹噹噹噹！現在，大家都坐商務艙啦！」傑佛瑞默默地點了點頭表示贊同。

「天啊！飛長途的航班我還是頭一次坐商務艙呢！」Claire 興高采烈地說。「看來，這次去台灣將會是最完美的旅行了！眞是太謝謝帝芬尼了！妳最好了！」

「可是，小傑答應了我的條件！」蒂芬尼繼續說。「那就是他必須全程坐我旁邊！」

「哇！阿傑，你眞夠義氣，肯爲了朋友犧牲！」孝恩開玩笑地推了推傑佛瑞說。

「你們的登機證已經準備好了！」親切的航空公司地勤說完便將登機證分別遞給了大家。「此次旅途飛行時數為14小時，直飛臺灣桃園國際機場。請於下午6:40前於M8號登機門登機。過了安檢，手扶梯上去右轉就是貴賓室。我在此祝大家旅途愉快！」

領取完登機證後，大夥兒便前往機場安檢。所幸這個時間没有太多人排隊，所以很快就輪到他們將行李放到X光機進行掃描。然而，蒂芬尼因爲不習慣搭乘民航班機，所以不熟悉安檢規則，直接背著包包大搖大擺地走過安檢門。頓時，警鈴聲大作，蒂芬尼也被一旁的安檢人員攔住了。

「小姐，請將隨身行李放在X光機檢驗處後再走過安檢門！」一旁穿著制服的安檢人員解釋道。

「天啊！這麼麻煩？」蒂芬尼抱怨道。「難道，我看起來像是恐怖份子嗎？妳有看過哪個恐怖份子長得像我這樣清純、甜美、可愛的嗎？」

「這就是機場的安檢規定，大家都必須遵守！」安檢人員耐心地答道。

蒂芬尼怒氣沖沖地走回原地，將包包放下後，再次通過安檢門。然而，這次又是一陣警鈴大作。原來，蒂芬尼忘了將手錶取下了。

「天啊！照這樣下去，我看這根本沒完沒了！是誰同意讓蒂芬尼跟來的呀？」Eliza 翻著白眼、不耐煩地抱怨道。

"Que fais-tu, Tiffany? Nous sommes en classe économique!" dit Shaun.

"Nuh-euh! Plus maintenant!" répondit Tiffany. "J'ai amélioré mon billet pour la classe Affaires après mes horribles rencontres la dernière fois que je suis montée en classe économique. J'ai décidé d'améliorer le billet de Jeffie également, afin qu'il puisse s'asseoir à côté de moi sur ce vol. Mais il a refusé à moins que je nous améliorer également tous vos billets. Alors, voilà! Nous sommes tous en classe affaires maintenant!" Jeffrey confirma cette affirmation en hochant graduellement la tête.

"Mon dieu! Je n'avais jamais voyagé en classe affaires pour des vols long-courriers auparavant!" s'exclama Claire en extase. "Il me semble que ce voyage à Taïwan sera le meilleur voyage de tous les temps! Merci beaucoup, Tiffany! Tu es la meilleure!"

"Mais Jeffie a accepté cela à une condition", poursuivit Tiffany, ignorant l'expression de gratitude de Claire. "Jeffie va s'asseoir à côté de moi pendant tout ce vol!"

"Merci d'avoir fait des sacrifices pour tes amis, Jeff!" plaisanta Shaun en donnant un petit coup de coude à son ami, qui laissa échapper un long soupir.

"Vos cartes d'embarquement sont prêtes!" dit la dame de l'assistance en remettant à chacun leur carte d'embarquement après qu'ils eurent tous enregistré leurs bagages. "Le vol dure 14 heures au total et vous emmène directement à l'Aéroport International Taiwan-Taoyuan, avec vos bagages. La porte d'embarquement est à M8 et l'heure d'embarquement est à 18h40. Après avoir passé la sécurité, veuillez monter les escaliers mécaniques et le salon VIP sera à votre droite. Je vous souhaite un vol agréable et un bon voyage à Taïwan! "

"What're you doing, Tiffany? We're in economy class!" said Shaun.

"Nuh-uh! Not anymore!" responded Tiffany. "I've upgraded my ticket to Business Class, after my horrific encounters last time I've boarded Economy. I've decided to upgrade Jeffie's ticket too, so he can sit next to me on this flight. But, he refused unless I've upgraded all your tickets as well. So, tada! We're all in Business Class now!" Jeffrey confirmed this claim by gradually nodding his head in affirmation.

"OMG! I've never travelled in Business Class for long-haul flights before!" exclaimed Claire in ecstasy. "Looks like this trip to Taiwan is gonna be the best trip ever! Thank you so much, Tiffany! You're the best!"

"But there was one condition which Jeffie agreed tp," continued Tiffany, ignoring Claire's expression of gratitude. "Jeffie will sit next to me during this whole flight!"

"Lol, thanks for sacrificing for your friends, Jeff!" joked Shaun as he gently nudged his friend, who let out a long sigh. 

"Your boarding passes are ready!" said the attendance lady as she handed everyone their boarding passes after they've all checked in their baggages. "The flight is 14 hours long in total, taking you directly to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, along with your luggage. The boarding gate is at M8 and the boarding time is 6:40pm. After going through security, please ascend the escalators and the VIP Lounge will be on your right. I wish you have a pleasant flight and enjoy your trip to Taiwan!" 

After receiving their boarding passes, the group of friends proceeded to the airport security check. Luckily, there weren't too many people in the queue, so it was soon there turn to place their carry-on baggages on the X-ray scanner.

Nevertheless, Tiffany, who was not used to boarding passenger jets, walked through the security door with all her baggage. The alarm went off immediately and she was stopped by the security lady.

"Excuse me, miss! Please place your baggage in the X-ray machine and walk through the security door again," said the security lady in uniform.

"OMG! What a hassle!" exclaimed Tiffany impatiently as she started shouting. "Do I look a terrorist to you? Have you ever seen a terrorist as pretty as me?"

"These are the rules of the airport which everyone must comply, regardless if you're a terrorist" replied the lady patiently.

Tiffany stomped back sulkily, placed her bag angrily on the conveyor belt and walked through the security door. Nevertheless, the alarm sounded again, only to discover later that the cause was Tiffany not removing her watch.

"OMG! How long is this gonna take!" complained Elize impatiently as she rolled her eyes.

「可是我不需要換錢啊！」蒂芬尼拿出錢包說。「我上次去中國剩了一堆人民幣！我不過換了幾百英鎊，結果也花不完，因爲那裡實在没什麼好買的！」

「旅遊前先做點功課吧，蒂芬尼！」傑佛瑞說。「臺灣和中國大陸的貨幣不同，不是用人民幣，而是新台幣！還有，你這次可得多換點，因爲台灣實在太多好買的東西了，只怕你換得不夠花！」

「天啊！眞的假的？」蒂芬尼答道。「那好吧！換個五千英鎊吧！」

大夥兒將行李拖到機場外匯服務台時，赫然發現櫃檯旁邊貼著一張畫著台北101與巴黎艾非爾鐵塔並立的海報。

「哇！是台北101耶！」身為摩天大樓控的 Eliza 驚呼道。「眞不敢相信在這裡也看得到台北101的廣告！我之前都不知道它比巴黎鐵塔高這麼多！」

「小傑，台北101是蝦米東東啊？」蒂芬尼問道。

「天啊！蒂芬尼，妳不知道台北101？它可是世界上最知名的摩天高樓之一呢！」傑佛瑞解釋道。「台北101是一棟位於台灣台北市的摩天大樓，其樓高509公尺，於2004年至2010年期間曾是全球最高的摩天大廈。就算是臺北101落成近16年後的今天，它都是全世界十大高樓之一，比艾非爾鐵塔高近1.6倍呢！！它堪稱是的現代建築的曠世巨作！」

「是呀！眞期待這次有機會登上台北101去年六月才開放的第101層戶外觀景台！」Claire 說。

"J'ai pas besoin d'échanger de l'argent", dit Tiffany en sortant son sac à main. "J'ai beaucoup de restes de renminbi de mon voyage en Chine l'année dernière. J'ai échangé que plusieurs centaines d'Euros, mais je n'ai quand même pas tout dépensé, il n'y avait tout simplement rien à acheter là-bas!"

"Fais tes recherches, Tiffany!" répondit Jeffrey. "Taïwan a une monnaie différente de la Chine, elle s'appelle le Dollar National Taïwanais. Tu auras probablement besoin de plus de plusieurs centaines d'Euros cette fois, car il y a tellement de trésors à acheter à Taïwan que tu dépenseras probablement tous!"

"Merde, vraiment?" répondit Tiffany. "€5000 c'est alors!"

Le groupe d'amis tira leurs bagages vers le guichet du bureau de change, seulement pour apercevoir une affiche qui montre la Tour Eiffel et Taipei 101 côte à côte.

"Wow! C'est le Taipei 101!" s'exclama Eliza, grande fan du célèbre gratte-ciel, en pointant vers l'affiche. "J'savais pas que Taipei 101 semble si plus haut que la Tour Eiffel!"

"Qu'est-ce que c'est, le Taipei 101, Jeffie?" s'enquit Tiffany.

"Mon dieu, Tiffany, tu savais pas? C'est le plus célèbre gratte-ciel du monde!" expliqua Jeffrey. "C’était le plus haut gratte-ciel du monde de 2004 à 2010 jusqu’à ce que Burj Khalifa le dépasse, mais il reste le plus haut d’Asie de l’Est depuis plus de 10 ans et reste encore dans le top 10 maintenant, 15 ans après son achèvement. C’est un chef-d’oeuvre architectural, sans oublier une destination touristique incontournable à Taïwan. En fait, il est 1,5 fois plus haut que la Tour Eiffel."

"Ouais! J'ai hâte de visiter son observatoire situé au 101ème étage, qui vient d'être ouvert au grand public en juin de l'année dernière!" dit Claire.

"I don't need to exchange money," said Tiffany, taking out her purse. "I have loads of leftover Renminbi from my trip to China last year. I've only exchanged several hundred pounds, but still, I didn't spend it all as there just wasn't anything to buy there!"

"Do your research, Tiffany!" answered Jeffrey. "Taiwan has a different currency to mainland China, it's called the New Taiwan Dollar. You'll probably need more than several hundred pounds this time, as there're so many goodies to buy in Taiwan that you'll probably spend it all!"

"Dang, really?" replied Tiffany. "£5000 it is then!"

The group of friends pulled their luggage towards the currency exchange bureau counter, only to perceive a poster showing the Eiffel Tower and Taipei 101 side by side. 

"Wow! It's the Taipei 101!" exclaimed Eliza, who is a huge fan of the famous skyscraper, pointing to the poster. "Can't believe they have adverts here as well, and I didn't know that it looks much taller compared to the Eiffel Tower!" 

"What's the Taipei 101, Jeffie?" enquired Tiffany. 

"Gosh, Tiffany, you didn't know? It's, like, the most famous skyscraper in the world!" explained Jeffrey. "It was the tallest skyscraper in the world from 2004 to 2010 until it was surpassed by Burj Khalifa, but remained the tallest in East Asia for more than 10 years, and it's still in the top-10 tallest, 15 years after its completion. It's an architectural masterpiece, not to mention a must-visit tourist destination in Taiwan. It is over 1.5 times the height of the Eiffel Tower." 

"Yeah! Can't wait to visit its 101st-floor observatory that was just opened to the general public in June last year!" said Claire.

一個溫暖的七月午後，一群朋友們相約於英國倫敦機場，準備出發前往亞洲太平洋上的島嶼～臺灣度假。

「我的天啊！眞不敢相信在那麼多年後終於再去台灣了！」Eliza 一邊將行李從小客車的後車廂取出，一邊説。「我上次去的時候，因爲有急事，所以任務完成就趕回英國了，根本没時間到處逛逛。妳記得嗎，Claire？」Eliza 提起了幾年前身為秘密間諜組織的嬌娃時所完成的任務。

「就是説啊！」Claire 答道。

「任務？什麼任務啊？」Claire 和 Eliza 以前的高中同學～蒂芬尼問道。

「蛤？什麼？我剛剛説任務嗎？哦～我説錯了啦！我的意思是假期啦！哈哈哈！」Eliza 支支吾吾地試圖隱瞞她身為祕密間諜的身份。

「唉唷，隨便啦！」蒂芬尼聳了聳肩説。「我只是不懂爲毛會有人喜歡去一個不知名的小島度假而已。我是説⋯⋯臺灣也不是什麼知名旅遊景點啊！」

「妳在開玩笑嗎？」傑佛瑞（Eliza 的表哥）一邊幫助蒂芬尼拿行李一邊説。「台灣時常被列為全球十大熱門旅遊景點，好嗎？不管是大型購物中心、海邊、山脈、溫泉、還是美食，台灣基本都是應有盡有！我很久前就想去台灣玩了，只是都没機會，一直等到最近幾年纔好不容易有了英國直飛台灣的航班。」

Un après-midi de juillet chaud et ensoleillé, un groupe d'amis se réunit à l'aéroport, prêts pour leur voyage de vacances d'été sur l'île asiatique et subtropicale de Taiwan.

"Mon dieu! Je n'arrive toujours pas à croire que je vais enfin retourner à Taïwan, après tant d'années!" s'exclama Eliza en déchargeant ses bagages de la camionnette. "La dernière fois qu'on était à Taïwan, on a dû rentrer chez nous juste après notre mission, sans avoir le temps de faire un tour. C'était vraiment dommage! Tu te souviens de ça, Claire?" Eliza s'enquit de son amie, faisant allusion à leur mission dernière d'agent d'espionnage secret il y a plusieurs années.

"Ouais!" répondit Claire tout en cochant mentalement sa liste de contrôle des articles qu'elle aurait dû apporter avec elle.

"Mission? Quelle mission?" demanda Tiffany, l'ancienne camarade de lycée de Claire et d'Eliza alors qu'elle s'efforçait de décharger deux énormes valises à l'arrière de la camionnette.

"Euh ..... quoi? J'ai dit 'mission'? Oh, oups! Je voulais dire......'les vacances' mdr!" balbutia Eliza en essayant de cacher son identité secrète d'agent d'espionnage.

"Peu importe!" Tiffany haussa les épaules en repoussant ses cheveux avec désinvolture. "J'comprends pas pourquoi on voudrait aller sur cette petite île! J'veux dire, Taïwan est même pas une destination touristique populaire!"

"Sérieusement?" s'exclama Jeffrey, le cousin d'Eliza, en aidant Eliza à décharger ses bagages. "Taïwan figure régulièrement dans le top 10 des destinations touristiques du monde! Qu'il s'agisse de centres commerciaux, de plages, de montagnes, de sources thermales ou de plats délicieux, Taïwan les a tous! J'ai toujours voulu aller à Taïwan, mais parce qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup de vols  jusqu'à ce qu'un vol directe soit ouvert il y a quelques années. "

"OMG! I still can't believe I'm finally going to Taiwan again, after so many years!" exclaimed Eliza as she unloaded her luggage from the van. "Last time we were there, we had to fly back to the UK right after our mission, without any time to take a tour. It was such a shame, remember Claire?" Eliza enquired her friend, alluding to their previous mission as a secret spy agent several years ago.

"I know right!" replied Claire whilst mentally ticking off her checklist of items that she should've brought with her. 

"Mission? What mission?" demanded Tiffany, Claire and Eliza's former high school classmate as she struggled to unload two huge suitcases off the back of the van. 

"Um.....what? Did I say mission? Oh, oops! I meant vacation LOL!" stammered Eliza as she tried to conceal her secret identity as a spy agent. 

"Whatever!" shrugged Tiffany as she casually brushed back her hair. "I just don't get why you'd want to go to that tiny island! I mean, it's not even a popular tourist destination!"

"Are you kidding me?" exclaimed Jeffrey, Eliza's cousin, as he helped Eliza unload her luggage. "Taiwan is consistently listed in the top 10 travel destinations in the world! Whether it be shopping malls, beaches, mountains, hot springs or delicious food, Taiwan has them all! I've always wanted to visit Taiwan, but never really got the chance as there weren't many flights from the UK until a non-stop flight opened a couple of years ago."
