阿桃領著布萊和蒂芬尼爬上樓梯，他們的房間在頂樓。映入眼簾的是一間摩登的臥室，裡面放著雙人床、衣櫥及鏡子，地上的地毯也與窗簾同一色調。房間的牆壁都塗成了淡藍色，有著一種彷彿置身海邊一般清涼的感覺。蒂芬尼看到床後立刻跳了上去。

「你們好好休息吧！」阿桃說。「如果需要什麼，我在樓下。」

「這房間好漂亮喔！」布萊讚美道。「真謝謝你讓我們住在這⋯⋯」布萊轉頭才發現阿桃早已轉身離去了。

「蒂芬尼姊姊，看來阿桃已經視妳為情敵了。」布萊說。

「誰理她呀？我有自信小傑一定會選擇我的！」蒂芬尼答道。

 Thao motioned for Tiffany and Blythe to follow her up the stairs as she showed them their room, which was situated on the topmost floor of the house. As they entered their room, what came rolling into view was a comfortable, modernly furnished room with a double bed, wardrobe and mirrors. The color of the little rug on the floor perfectly matched the color of the curtains. The walls of the room was painted in an elegantly light blue color that gave the air of being at the beach. Tiffany leapt onto the bed the moment she perceived it. 

"I’ll let you unpack your things and get prepared for bed," said Thao. "If you need anything, I’ll be downstairs."

"This room is lovely, Thao," answered Blythe, glancing around the room. "Thanks so much for your hospitality, it’s great….." As Blythe turned around, she perceived that Thao has already left the room, without saying goodbye.

"Looks like you've got yourself a love rival, Tiffany," said Blythe.

"Who gives a damn about that crazy Cow?" responded Tiffany. "I'm certain ma Jeffie would choose me over her any day!"

如同阿桃預言的一樣，當大夥兒換上拖鞋、走上臺階來到客廳時，外面就開始下起了滂薄大雨。客廳裡的陳設格外地古典，裡面放著維多利亞式的傢俱，腳底下還有一片豪華的波斯地毯。一進到客廳裡，孝恩和傑佛瑞便對看了一眼，表示兩人都察覺到了不對敬之處。

「歡迎回家！」阿桃的媽媽～阿蘭說。「你還帶了朋友回來。」

「他們不是我朋友，」阿桃答道。「這是我之前跟妳提起的超自然現象的名神探～傑佛瑞・多諾溫先生和他的助理～孝恩。這是布萊，孝恩來自台灣的表妹；還有黛芬尼，不知道哪裡冒出來的路人甲。」

正當蒂芬尼正怒氣沖沖地要糾正阿桃，說自己不叫『黛芬尼』、也不是『路人甲』時，她被傑佛瑞打斷了。

「阮太太您好，我是傑佛瑞。這是我的搭檔孝恩，」傑佛瑞自我介紹道。「您的英與說得真好啊！」

「雖然我是越南人，但是我在每過出生及成長的！」阮太太答道。

 Exactly like Thao had predicted, soon after they changed into slippers and walked up a flight of stairs into the living room, large drops of rain began to splatter violently on the windowpanes. They entered a medium-sized living room furnished with Victorian-style furniture with a luxurious carpet beneath their feet. Shaun and Jeffrey exchanged glances, signifying that they both sensed something unusual about this isolated mansion.

Sitting on the Victorian sofa was a middle-aged lady in a bright green dress. Immediately when she perceived Thao, the woman's eyes brightened and she rose up to embrace her. 

"Welcome home, my dear," said the woman in English with an American accent, who was in fact Thao's mother. "I see that you've brought your friends along."

"Yes, mom," replied Thao. "This is Jeffrey and Shaun, the supernatural detectives I told you about, who are here to investigate about the things you told me. This is Blythe - Shaun's Taiwanese cousin and Daphne, some random girl who came along for no reason."

Just when Tiffany was about to declare that her name is not Daphne and she is not "a random girl", she was interrupted by Jeffrey. 

"Nice to meet you, Mrs Nguyen. I'm Jeffrey and this is my friend Shaun," said Jeffrey. "You speak English very well, Mrs Nguyen!"

"Yes, although I'm Vietnamese, I was born and raised in New York!" responded Mrs Nguyen.

他們從機場的停車場離開，朝市區的方向行駛。快抵達市區時，就開始塞車了。

「天哪～你到底會不會開車呀！」他們卡在原地15分鐘後，蒂芬尼罵道。「我們卡在這裡美叮美噹已經一萬年了！」

「蒂芬尼，不要再無理取鬧了！這又不是阿桃的錯！」坐在副駕的傑佛瑞跳出來幫阿桃聲援。「你看看這堵車情況，我看這根本就是停車場了！」

「因為這幾年越南的經濟蓬勃發展，愈來愈多人有錢買車，所以路上幾乎天天塞車，」阿桃解釋道。

「那我們傻嘛？既然天天塞車，幹嘛不坐地鐵啊？」蒂芬尼抱怨道。

「根據我之前搜尋過的資料顯示，目前胡志明市尚未有地鐵系統，第一條地鐵線尚在興建中。所以沒辦法，我們往返機場只能請阿桃開車接送。」布萊答道。

「吼～我看我下車自己走還比較快！」蒂芬尼嘟著嘴說。

After they drove out of the airport parking lot and entered the city centre, they soon found themselves stuck in the middle of a traffic jam. 

"OMG! Do you even know how to drive!" screamed Tiffany from the back seat after the car barely moved a yard in fifteen minutes. "We've legit been stuck in this place forever!"

"Tiffany, it's not Thao's fault," said Jeffrey, who was sitting next to Thao. "Look at this traffic! This looks more like a parking lot than a road to me!"

"Indeed, due to the economic boom of Vietnam in recent years, more and more people are rich enough to afford a car, which is what's causing such terrible traffic jams every day," explained Thao.

"Are you crazy? Why do you have to drive then? We could've boarded the subway or something!" complained Tiffany. 

"There is no mass rapid transit, aka subway, system in Ho Chi Minh City according to the internet, although a subway line is currently under construction," responded Blythe. "So, I guess there's no other way!"

"I reckon it'll be quicker if I just get off and walk!" grumbled Tiffany.

經過了約莫12小時的飛行時間，大夥兒終於抵達了胡志明市新山一國際機場。比他們早出發的阿桃已經在機場等候，準備接機。

「我叫阿桃。」阿桃用斜眼看著布萊說。

「阿桃？你的名字好奇怪喔！妳爸媽是不是特別喜歡吃桃子呀？」蒂芬尼將阿桃從頭到腳打量了一番。

「哼～不懂就別亂說！阿桃這個名字在越南很常見，它代表了有禮貌和恭敬的意思。」阿桃答道。

「那顯然你父母給你取錯名字了！因為你不僅沒禮貌又不懂地尊重人。」蒂芬尼翻著白眼說。

「唉唷，你們要相親相愛，別一見面就吵架嘛！」孝恩說。

「閉嘴，書呆子！」蒂芬尼和阿桃異口同聲地說。說畢，兩人便互瞪了一眼對方。

「小傑，我們走吧！不要理那瘋婆子。我的車停在那兒！」阿桃摟著傑佛瑞的手說。

「你這臭三八好大的膽子，『小傑』是你叫的嗎？那是我給他取的專屬綽號誒！」蒂芬尼氣得破口大罵道。

「蒂芬尼姊姊，如果妳要贏得最終的勝利，你必須保持冷靜。沒有人會喜歡潑婦的，」布萊小聲地說。「別擔心，我絕對是站在妳這邊的！」

After around thirteen hours of flight time, the group of friends finally arrived at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Thao, who had arrived earlier on a different flight, was at the airport to pick them up. 

"Nice to meet you, I'm Blythe, Shaun's cousin," said Blythe politely as she extended her hand towards Thao. 

"I'm Thao," replied Thao coolly as she reluctantly shook Blythe's hand. 

"So you are Cow!" exclaimed Tiffany after scrutinizing the girl from head to toe. "What a weird name you've got! Do your parents like to drink milk or something?"

"No, my name is 'Thao' not 'Cow', it means 'courteous' and 'respectful' in Vietnamese," answered Thao proudly. 

"Well, looks like your parents gave you the wrong name, cuz you're both uncourteous and disrespectful," responded Tiffany, rolling her eyes. 

"There, there, quit fighting and be nice to each other!" said Shaun. 

"Shut up, nerd!" screamed Tiffany and Thao in one voice, then they glared at each other angrily and both turned away.

"Jeffie, let's go! My car's over there." said Thao as she touched Jeffrey's arm affectionately. 

"Hey, how dare you call him 'Jeffie'! Only I can call him that! That's my special name for him!" shouted Tiffany madly as she waved her hands about.

"Tiffany, if you want to win this game, you've got to chill! No one likes a name-calling eccentric woman,"  whispered Blythe secretly. "But, don't worry, you've got me on your side."

半小時過後，孝恩、傑佛瑞和阿桃三人便約在外面的咖啡廳討論案子。

「你知道嗎？經過了一番調查，我發現那篇部落格的版主了。你猜是誰呀？」孝恩故意問道。

「好啦，我老實招了，那個網站是我經營的！」傑佛瑞說。「可是，裡面寫的除了你是我的助理這段全部都是事實啊！我這麼寫只是為了達到效果，提升點閱率罷了！你既然會介意，我就把那部份改掉不就得了！可是，你是怎麼發現的？」

「這並非難事，」孝恩答道。「這世上除了咱倆能這麼詳細地記錄所有的案子別無他人。還有，作者的筆名JD就是你名字的縮寫啊！你既然要匿名，也想個比較不容易被發現的嘛！」

「好啦，我很抱歉！」傑佛瑞說。「總之，我們先聊聊這次的案子吧！美女，你叫什麼名字啊？」

「我叫阿桃！自從讀過了你的部落格後，我一直想見一見傳說中的名偵探。今天算是美夢成真了！多諾溫先生，想不到，你比想像中更帥呢！」阿桃用著別於之前和孝恩說話的語氣說。

「請叫我阿傑就好！」傑佛瑞臉紅的說。「你可以跟我們陳述一下你遇到的超自然現象嗎？」

「其實不是我親身經歷的，是我遠在越南胡志明市的家人所遇到的事情⋯⋯」於是，阿桃便開始陳述了一番整件事情的來龍去脈。

聽完了阿桃的解釋後，兩名偵探都個別同意要接起這件案子，然而，兩人有著不同的原因。傑佛瑞會同意是因為『阿桃實在太辣了！』，而孝恩則是因為對這起案件非常感興趣。

After half an hour, Jeffrey arrived at Shaun's office and the three people sat down with a coffee in the common room to discuss about their case. 

"Guess what, Jeff? I found out the author of that blog. Would you like to know?" asked Shaun sarcastically.

"Fine, I plead guilty. I wrote that blog, ok?" replied Jeff. "Everything else apart from the part about you being my assistant is true. That was only for effect so people will be intrigued. Fine, I'll update it to correct everything, happy? But how did you find out it was me?"

"Well, this isn't rocket science," answered Shaun. "The only person that could've known so much detail about our cases are the two of us. And I didn't write it, so it must be you. Simple! Furthermore, the author's name, John Davis has the same initials as you. If you're trying to conceal your identity, at least make an effort to make it less obvious!"

"Whatever! I'm sorry, ok?" said Jeffrey unapologetically. "Anyways, we shouldn't keep this lovely lady waiting. What's your name?"

"I'm Thao! I've been wanting to meet you after reading that blog and my dream actually came true! OMG, I can't believe I'm actually talking to the great detective Mr Donovan," answered Thao in such a different attitude than what she showed towards Shaun that made the latter quite speechless.

"Please, just call me Jeff," responded Jeff as he gave Shaun the 'dayum-she's-hot-look'. "What is that you'd like to consult us about?"

"Actually, my family back home has been encountering some unexplainable supernatural mystery recently, and I was wondering if you could help me?" replied Thao. "It's happening in my house in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam....."  

After Thao had explained her family's encounters, both detectives agreed to help her solve the mystery, however with different reasons of their own. Jeffrey agreed because "Thao's too hot to refuse" to put it in his own words, and Shaun agreed because he was extremely curious about the mystery.

一個多雲的春天下午，李孝恩正一個人在實驗室裡分析數據；突然，有人敲了敲門。孝恩回頭一看，竟驚見一位身著綠色迷你裙、露臂裝，並且濃妝豔抹，染著一頭金髮的亞裔女大生出現在實驗室門口。

「你就是李孝恩吧？」女子問道。

「是的，」孝恩看著數據說。「妳是我輔導課的學生吧？我有說過，如果要交作業的話，請直接放在我的檔案櫃裡就好，不用親自繳交。」

「我看起來像是物理系的學生嗎？」女子翻著白眼說。「我的名字叫阿桃，我是大一的人類學系的學生。我是來找你老闆的！」

「我的老闆？不好意思，我聽不太懂你的意思。」孝恩一頭霧水地答道。「如果你指的是我的指導教授的話，他現在出差去了。只是我不懂，人類學系的學生要找物理教授做什麼？」

「吼～你是裝傻還是真傻呀？難怪你永遠只能當助理。」阿桃不耐煩地說。「我是要找你的老闆～傑佛瑞・多諾溫先生的。他不是一位專門解決超自然現象的名偵探嗎？我剛好遇到了一件事情要來請教他。你懂了嗎？」

「這樣我明白了！」孝恩說。「沒錯，我和傑佛瑞確實是搭檔，一起解決超自然現象的偵探小組。可是，我不是他的助理，他也不是我的老闆。我們是平等的合夥人關係，我們是一起辦案的。我不理解你是怎麼認為我是助理，還是因為我是亞洲人你就覺得我理應當他的助理。如果真是如此，我為你感到慚愧，你自己身為亞裔不該有如此的偏見。總之，傑佛瑞現在在博物館工作，你有什麼問題告訴我也是一樣的。我們都一起辦案，所以會互相分享情報。」

「哼～我才不信呢！你瞧，這篇部落格不都寫得清清楚楚嗎？」阿桃滑開手機，找出一個部落格網站說。網站上詳細地記載了神探們所有經手過的案子，從一開始的『鬼武士的復仇』到近期的『台北愛情故事』全部都有記載。然而，這個網站偏頗地誇大了傑佛瑞的角色與破案的貢獻。」

「我不知道這篇博客的作者是誰，但這裡面寫的內容並非全屬事實。」孝恩聳了聳肩說。

「我不管，我就是要找多諾溫先生。」阿桃答道。

One cloudy spring afternoon, Shaun Lee was working alone on analyzing data for his experiment in his office. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and entered an Asian woman wearing a green mini skirt, red camisole, and with heavy make-up and dyed golden hair in a braid. 

"Are you Shaun Lee?" enquired the woman.

"Yes, I am," replied Shaun, who barely looked up from his work. "Are you one of my tutorial students? If you're handing in your solutions to problem sheets, just drop them in my pigeon hole. No need to visit my office personally."

"No, excuse me! Do I look like a physics student?" answered the woman, rolling her eyes. "I'm Thao, a first year anthropology student. I'm here to consult your boss."

"My boss? I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean," responded the bewildered Shaun. "If you mean my supervisor, he's currently away on a trip. But I don't understand why an anthropology student would want to consult my supervisor."

"Are you stupid or something? Do I have to spell everything out? No wonder you're only the assistant!" snapped Thao irritably. "Look, I know that you and your boss - Mr. Jeffrey Donovan are working as detectives to solve supernatural mysteries. I happen to be encountering a mystery myself and would like to consult your boss. Get it, nerd?"

"Okay, I see where you're going, but I need to get some things straight," said Shaun. "Yes, Jeffrey and I are indeed working as amateur supernatural detectives but no, Jeffrey is not my boss nor I his assistant. We're partners and we work together to solve the mysteries. I don't know how you got the impression that I'm his assistant, if it's because I'm Asian so I must be the assistant, then shame on you, because you're Asian too, so you should know better than to have such prejudices! But anyways, Jeffrey is currently working in a museum, so it's the same if you let me know what your problem is."

"I don't believe you! This blog here says it all! See?" said Thao as she showed Shaun a blog on her phone that writes about all the details of all the cases the detectives had solved, right at the beginning from "Revenge of the Ghost Samurais" to the latest case "Taipei Love Story". However, the blog had a biased viewpoint that shaped Jeffrey as the genius detective that solved all the cases with minor help from his assistant Shaun.

"Well, I don't know who wrote this blog but this isn't true," shrugged Shaun.

"I don't care! I insist on seeing Mr. Jeffrey Donovan," insisted Thao.

摩比童話之灰姑娘歷險記-29（大結局）

為了幫灰姑娘拖延時間，范德川女士趕緊邀請王子留下來喝下午茶。然而，王子斷然地拒絕了，並且詢問房子裡是否住著其他的女生。

「王子殿下，這裡住著兩個女生～朵拉和欣蒂！」范德川女士瞄了一眼灰姑娘的房間說。

「那另外一個女生呢？」白馬王子看著朶拉，立刻就知道她不可能是前一晚的漂亮姑娘，因為她實在太瘦了。

「她⋯⋯她還在準備，王子殿下。」范德川女士結結巴巴地說。「不如，您先試試朶拉，我現在立刻去叫欣蒂出來。」

這時，范德川女士已經受夠了灰姑娘的無理取鬧了。她拿著灰姑娘房間的鑰匙，打開了房間門，卻赫然發現灰姑娘已經從窗戶逃走了！范德川女士只好回去和王子報告此事。

「謝謝你浪費我寶貴的時間！」壞脾氣的白馬王子說。

Therefore, in order to buy time for Cinderella, Ms. Vandertramp decided to invite the prince for afternoon tea. However, Prince Charming, who was down to business, resolutely declined and enquired whether there were any other girls in the house.

"Well, um, yes, your highness......." stammered Ms. Vandertramp as she glanced towards the direction of Cinderella's room, of which the door was still firmly closed. "There are two girls - Dora and Cindy."

"Well, where is the other girl?" enquired Prince Charming, after glancing at Dora and seeing that she was not the pretty girl he met at the ball, for Dora was way too thin for his liking.

"She....she is getting ready, your highness" answered Ms. Vandertramp, who was afraid to let the prince wait for too long, yet did not wish Cinderella to miss her opportunity. "Why not let's try the shoe on Dora first and in the meantime, I will go and check up on her."

Thus, out of politeness, the prince commanded the herald to kneel down in order to fit the beautiful shoe on Dora's foot. Nevertheless, Dora's foot was way too small.

"This does not fit, your highness," said the herald.

"I don't need you to tell me, I have eyes of my own," snapped Prince Charming irritably.

Meanwhile, Ms. Vandertramp had had enough of Cinderella's tantrums. Grabbing hold of the spare key to Cinderella's room and unlocking her door, Ms. Vandertramp was both astonished and frustrated to see that Cinderella had escaped from the house through the window in her reluctance of meeting the prince. With heavy footsteps, Ms. Vandertramp entered the living room and informed the prince that Cindy, the other girl had left the house.

"Well, thank you for wasting my time, Ms. Vandertramp," answered Prince Charming sarcastically as he stomped out of Cinderella's house.

倉惶地逃離了皇宮的灰姑娘回到家後，發現范德川女士與助理朵拉已經在等著她的歸來了。事實上，他們兩人整個旅程都一直悄悄地在暗處陪伴著灰姑娘，並且已經獲得了在舞會上發生的一手消息。

「范德川女士，我⋯⋯我該如何是好啊？」灰姑娘一邊哽咽，一邊試圖解釋自己的處境，卻不知從何說起。

「一切都不必多說了，我什麼都知道了！」范德川女士用著罕見的溫柔聲音說。

看見了灰姑娘驚訝的表情後，范德川女士才開始娓娓道來。「你在森林裡的這段時間，我和朶拉一直都在暗處陪伴著你。我在你之前找到了你的祖母，並且付了錢請她演了這齣戲。」

「什麼？不可能！」灰姑娘難以置信地喊道。「你這個騙子，我才不信呢！那是我的神仙教母啊！」

「傻孩子，你還真的相信這世上有神仙教母嗎？」范德川女士說。「那全部都是作秀罷了！你的馬車、禮服、珠寶，包括鞋子都是我買的！不過，當然是用你爸留給你的遺產買的囉！我怎麼可能自掏腰包呢！」

「可⋯⋯可是，這一切都像是魔法一樣啊！」灰姑娘疑惑地用手拭去了臉上的眼淚說。

「我不否認，這其中確實是有魔法存在。但是魔法再厲害，也不可能無中生有啊！我會這麼做是因為我篤定，如果這些是我親手送給你的，你肯定不會接受！」范德川女士解釋道。「於是，我決定去找你那朝思暮想著的祖母。她答應如果我給她的酬勞不錯，會出手幫助自己的孫女。於是，我買了所有的東西，她只不過是用魔法把一切都美化了罷了！」

「那⋯⋯那舞會呢？」灰姑娘問道。「我⋯⋯王子看到了我這個樣子⋯⋯」說畢，灰姑娘又開始哭了起來。

「是啊！我真的覺得自己變瘦了！」灰姑娘答道。「可是，那我吃了那塊巧克力蛋糕後又變胖了又能怎麼解釋？」

「這就是你阿嬤施的魔法囉！」范德川女士聳聳肩說。「那是我請她這麼做的，為了要懲罰你這貪吃鬼！想不到，你連妳阿嬤的叮囑都不聽，看來你真的是沒救了！算了～過去的事就給它過去吧！我們現在要看未來。根據我的觀察，王子確實是愛上了你。所以，別擔心，說不定王子沒幾天後就會來找你了！」

「等等⋯⋯！」灰姑娘驚叫道。「莫非，連我的鞋子掉了這件事情也在你的安排之中？」

「那是當然的囉！呵呵呵～」范德川女士自傲地說。「我特別找設計師設計了一雙內裡光滑的鞋。如此一來，只要妳又想逃跑時，鞋子就會從腳上滑落，讓王子撿到。這樣殿下才會記得你呀！」

After fleeing from the royal palace in fear of the prince seeing her in her plump physique, Cinderella returned home, where Ms. Vandertramp and her assistant Dora were already waiting for her. In fact, they had been following Cinderella the whole time inside the forest and was thus aware of her success in reaching the ball.

"Oh, Ms. Vandertramp! What shall I do?" cried Cinderella as she started sobbing and tried to elucidate her own situation. 

"There is no need to say anything now, my dear," replied Ms. Vandertramp tenderly after glancing at Cinderella's missing shoe. "I know everything."

Only after perceiving Cinderella's astonished expression did Ms. Vandertramp begin to explain everything. "Dora and I have been following you around in the forest and thus know of your encounters. I found your grandmother before you did and paid her to act out everything."

"What do you mean?" exclaimed Cinderella in disbelieve. "No, I don't believe you! You liar! She was my fairy godmother!"

"Silly girl, do you really believe in fairy godmothers?" answered Ms. Vandertramp, shaking her head and rolling her eyes at the naivety of Cinderella. "It was all but a show! I paid for your dress, your coach, your jewellery and your shoes. Of course, they were taken from your inheritance."

"But....but it all seemed like magic!" cried the confused Cinderella as she gently wiped away large drops of tears on her cheeks.

"Yes, there was some magic involved, I won't deny that. I bet if I have personally given you all those presents, you wouldn't accept any of them," elucidated Ms. Vandertramp coolly. "Your grandmother happened to know a teeny weeny bit of magic, and after I went to see her, she promised to help her own granddaughter if I paid her a decent sum. So, I paid for everything, and she simply presented them with her magic."

"But....but how about the ball?" enquired Cinderella as she wiped away large drops of tears on her cheeks. "I......the prince saw......saw me like this!" The moment she got to this part, Cinderella started sobbing again. 

"Yes, yes I know, I saw it. In fact, I was there the whole time at the ball, quietly observing you," responded Ms. Vandertramp. "Don't you worry, my dear. You are so hopeless that even magic cannot make you slender. That dress I bought you was especially designed to make you look slimmer - it was all but a psychological thing, you see. You definitely felt thinner, didn't you?"

"Ye...yes, I did feel a lot thinner," muttered Cinderella reluctantly as she grew calmer again. "But....but how do you explain the fact that my dress returned to normal after I ate that slice of chocolate cake?"

"Well, that's where the magic came in," shrugged Ms. Vandertramp. "That was deliberately done to punish you for eating. I still cannot believe that you were still tempted by the food despite your grandmother's warnings. It looks like you really are hopeless. But all that doesn't matter anymore now, for the past is the past. We have to look to the future. From his expression, I can positively assure you that Prince Charming had completely fallen in love with you the moment he set his eyes upon you. So, don't you worry, my dear! He will almost definitely come to our house looking for you in a few days' time."

"Wait a minute," exclaimed Cinderella with sudden realization. "Don't tell me that my losing my shoe was also a part of your plans?"

"Oh, yes, of course!" replied Ms. Vandertramp proudly. "I especially designed the shoe so that the material inside is very slippery and has very little friction. So when you start running away for whatever reason, it can easily slip from your foot so the prince can pick it up and use it to remember you!"

灰姑娘看到了一整桌的豐盛佳餚後，禁不起美食的誘惑，立刻抓了一塊巧克力蛋糕塞進了嘴巴。如同神仙教母所說的，當灰姑娘的嘴巴一碰到食物後，一切的魔法都消失的無影無蹤了。灰姑娘瞬間變回了肥胖的身形，並且穿著破舊的衣裳。然而，毫不知情的灰姑娘還是自顧自地大快朵頤著桌上的食物，完全沒注意到旁邊有一個帶著王冠的胖男人，也和他一樣在大口吃著食物。突然，兩人注意到了對方，四目相望後竟然一見鐘情。

「晚安啊，美麗的姑娘！」胖男人說。「我是白馬王子，我有這個榮幸知曉妳的芳名嗎？」

灰姑娘聽到了『白馬王子』這個關鍵詞後瞬間驚醒了！她全然不敢相信自己的眼睛，因為眼前的男子和掛在她房間裡的畫像完全不像。事實上，范德川女士只是從王子的粉絲專頁上抓下來的圖片，不知道那根本不是真實的相片。就在此時，灰姑娘才忽然想起了神仙教母的叮囑。然而，一切都太遲了。灰姑娘看著自己肥胖的身形後當場崩潰了。

「天哪！我到底在做些什麼！該怎麼辦哪？」灰姑娘心想。「我怎麼可以讓王子看到我這副狼狽的模樣呢？」

After perceiving the large table full of delicious food, Cinderella couldn't control her hunger and frustration for not finding the prince any longer. She grabbed a large piece of chocolate cake and stuffed it into her mouth. Just like her fairy godmother had forewarned, the moment Cinderella's mouth touched the piece of cake, her dress and physique immediately turned into her former form. 

Nonetheless, Cinderella was utterly unaware of her own transformation and continued to stuff more food into her mouth. She was also unaware that a fat man wearing a crown was quietly standing beside her, also greedily stuffing his mouth with food.

Suddenly, they both stopped and noticed each other's presence. The moment their eyes met, they immediately fell in love with each other at first sight. 

"Good evening, my lady," said the chubby man with his mouth full. "I am Prince Charming. May I have the honour of knowing your name?"

 Cinderella gasped. She couldn't believe her own eyes as the Prince Charming in front of her did not at all resemble the picture hung in her bedchamber. In fact, Ms. Vandertramp had taken the picture off the internet from Prince Charming's social media page, which was not his true photo. 

Then, Cinderella suddenly remembered her fairy godmother's words and looked down upon her own plump physique. 

"Oh no! What have I done? What should I do now?" thought Cinderella. "How can I possibly let the prince see me like this?"

灰姑娘找不到找得像王子畫像的男人時，便開始慌了。然而，就在這時，音樂停了，指示著換舞伴的時間到了。

「在那兒苦等也不是辦法，」灰姑娘心想。「不如趁這個時候先隨便找個舞伴，並問問他知不知道有關王子的事。」

於是，灰姑娘立刻優雅地走向一位帥伯爵，並且鞠著躬說：「晚安啊！」

「晚安啊，女士！」伯爵說。「我有和您共舞的榮幸嗎？」

「好啊！」灰姑娘說完後音樂隨即開始了。兩人便邊跳邊開始聊了起來。

「我有這個榮幸知道您的芳名嗎？」伯爵被灰姑娘別於一般女孩的若若大方深深吸引。

「我叫欣蒂，那你呢？」灰姑娘邊跳著舞邊東張西望找著王子，絲毫沒有興趣知道任何有關於那個帥伯爵的事。

「我的名字叫約瑟夫，」帥伯爵說。正當他要問其他的事情時，灰姑娘打斷了他。

「你知道王子在哪裡嗎？我比較晚到，不知道是不是錯過了什麼公告。」灰姑娘問道。

「很抱歉，我不清楚，」約瑟夫說。「不過，舞會一開使的時後，國王陛下有宣布，王子殿下被一些私事耽擱了，會晚一點到。」

After Cinderella was unable to find the prince, she started to panic. Nonetheless, just when she was uncertain about her future course of action, the music stopped, indicating a change of partners. 

"Now is my chance," thought Cinderella. "I will get acquainted with some random guy and ask him if he knows anything about where the prince is and what he's like."

Thus, after making up her mind, Cinderella grabbed hold of the perfect opportunity and glided elegantly towards a handsome fellow, whom she later discovered to be the son of a duke. 

"Good evening," curtseyed Cinderella.

"Good evening, my lady," answered the man, who was so bad at dancing that his previous partner had quickly abandoned him after the music had stopped. He was struggling to find a new partner when Cinderella appeared. "May I have the honour of dancing with you?"

"Yes, of course, why not?" Cinderella replied as she placed her hand on the young fellow's shoulder just when the music commenced. 

"May I have the honour of knowing your name?" enquired the young man as he became deeply attracted by Cinderella's boldness, which was unlike the pretended shyness of other girls. 

"I'm Cindy, how about you?" answered Cinderella, who was busily glancing around the hall in search of the prince, obviously not interested in knowing the name of the handsome guy in front of her.

"My name is Joseph," responded the young man. Just when he was about to say something more, Cinderella interrupted him. 

"Do you know where the host of this ball is? I mean the prince," questioned Cinderella. 

"No, I am afraid I do not," replied Joseph. "At the beginning, his majesty the King announced that his highness the prince will be slightly late as he is detained by some personal business."

經過了大約半小時的車程，穿著華麗禮服的灰姑娘坐著豪華馬車抵達了皇宮。灰姑娘瞄了一眼手錶後，心想：「真是太好了，我沒遲到！」

騎士先生幫灰姑娘下馬車後說：「再見了，我親愛的灰姑娘小姐。願妳一切順心！能和你做朋友是我的榮幸，你讓我受益匪淺。」

「謝謝你的祝福，騎士先生。」灰姑娘答道。「能遇見你也是我的榮幸，我也從你身上學習到了不少。那你現在要去哪裡呢？」

「我決定好了要去拯救沉睡中的公主，」騎士意志堅定的說。「同時，我也會等待你的好消息。你的婚禮別忘了邀請我喔！」

「我絕對不會忘了你的！」灰姑娘說。「我也會等你的好消息！你和沉睡的公主的婚禮我也一定會去參加的！」

「好了，時間差不多了。」騎士先生說。「那再見囉！」

灰姑娘和騎士道別後，在一名侍衛的帶領下，優雅地走進宮廷裡。

After around half an hour in the luxurious coach, Cinderella in her dazzling dress arrived at the grand palace, where the royal ball would take place. Checking her watch, Cinderella let out a sigh of relief and thought to herself:

 "Phew! I'm not late. In fact, I am half an hour early. There is still plenty of time for me to get ready, for first impressions are of the utmost importance." 

Mr. Knight helped Cinderella alight the coach. 

"Goodbye, my dear Ms. Cinderella. I wish you all the very best," said the knight jovially. "It was so great to meet such a good friend as you. I have learnt so much from you!"

"Thank you for your wishes, Mr. Knight," answered Cinderella. "I would say the same - it was great meeting you. Where are you going now?"

"I am going to rescue the sleeping princess from the nefarious enchantress," replied the knight with great determination. "I will wait for the good news from you - don't forget to invite me to your wedding, Ms. Cinderella."

"I definitely won't forget you," responded Cinderella as she blushed slightly. "Same for you - I will wait for your good news. Do let me know when you and the sleeping princess' wedding will be. I will be sure to attend it."

"Of course!" said Mr. Knight. "Well, I won't detain you any longer, Ms. Cinderella. Farewell and enjoy thyself!"

After bidding farewell to the knight, Cinderella followed one of the palace guards and walked elegantly into the grand hall, wherein the royal ball took place.

「真假！？」灰姑娘聽到消息後興高采烈地說。「可是⋯⋯我太胖了。還有，這件禮服已經被森林的樹枝弄得殘破不堪了。我現在來不及回家換衣服了！」

「別擔心，欣蒂。一切包在我身上。」神仙教母說畢便四處張望了一番。她看見遠處的一顆西瓜後眼睛一亮，拿出了她的魔法棒。轉眼間，西瓜竟然變成了一輛豪華的馬車。這時，神仙教母看到在樹上跑的兩隻松鼠。魔法棒一揮，松鼠立刻變成了兩批駿馬。

「現在，我們還需要馬伕！」神仙教母說。

「我有這個榮幸可以當灰姑娘小姐的馬夫嗎。」騎士先生問道。

「當然可以啊！真是太謝謝你了，騎士先生！」灰姑娘看著神仙教母的魔杖一揮，騎士先生的盔甲竟變成了華麗的制服。

「那灰姑娘的禮服咋辦呢？」稻草人問道。

「別及～我現在立刻處理！」神仙教母又揮了揮仙棒，瞬間，灰姑娘的破舊衣裳搖身一變，變成了鑲著奢華鑽石的耀眼雪白色禮服。還有更令人為之驚豔的是灰姑娘肥胖的身形竟然變成了纖細的身材。

「我⋯⋯我看起來好美喔！」灰姑娘照著鏡子說。

"Oh really?" exclaimed Cinderella in ecstasy after hearing the excellent news. "I wish I could go, but.....but I'm too fat, and the dress I'm wearing is torn by the branches of the forest. I won't have time to get home and get dressed to be ready in time."

"Do not worry, my dear Cindy," said Lily LaLac. "Well, let's see what I have here to work with."

The fairy godmother mumbled as she glanced around her garden, then her eyes brightened when she spotted what she was looking for. After locating her target, which was nothing but a watermelon, the fairy godmother pointed her magic wand at it, and in the blink of an eye, the watermelon was instantly transformed into a luxurious coach, which was gilded all over with gold. 

"Wow!" Cinderella, the scarecrow, Mr. Knight and the wolf exclaimed in one voice in astonishment. 

Then, the fairy godmother spotted two squirrels on a pine tree. Again, with a wave of her magic wand, the squirrels turned into two horses neighing in front of the carriage. 

"Now, we need a coachman," muttered Lily LaLac. 

"May I have the honour of being Ms. Cinderella's coachman?" enquired Mr. Knight timidly. 

"Of course, Mr. Knight, thank you so very much!" exclaimed Cinderella in joy as Lily LaLac transformed the knight's clothes into the uniform of the coach driver, with a livery all beset with gold.

"What about Cinderella's dress?" enquired the scarecrow. 

"Hold on, I'm getting there," answered the fairy godmother good-humouredly as she touched Cinderella with her magic wand. In the blink of an eye, Cinderella's dress was turned into a dazzling gown as white as snow, decorated with luxurious diamonds. On her neck was an elegant pearl necklace. But that was not all! Cinderella's plump physique was immediately transformed into a slim, dainty figure. 

"OMG, I feel so light and....and pretty!" exclaimed Cinderella in ecstasy.

「現在輪到你了，野狼先生！」神仙教母走向大野狼說。「透過這次的旅途，你不僅交到了許多朋友，也學會了如何關懷他人，並且當他們需要幫助時，你會適時地為朋友挺身而出。比如說，當灰姑娘在餐廳裡遇到危險時，你毫不猶豫地想衝上樓幫她。」

「可⋯⋯可是，我長得還是凶神惡煞。」大野狼答道。「我這樣要怎麼交朋友啊？」

「我們不能改變自己的外表，但可以改變自己的心。」神仙教母說。「當大家第一次看見你時會感到害怕，這是不爭的事實；然而，當他們認識你後，便能感受到你溫柔的一面。你不需要和每一個人交朋友，只有那些能夠看到你內心真實的一面的人值得成為你的朋友。你現有了這麼多朋友，應該感到滿足了！」

聽完了神仙教母的話，大家都陷入了沉思。

"It's your turn now, Mr. Wolf," said Lily LaLac affectionately whilst she walked towards the wolf. "From this voyage, you have not only made some new friends, but have learnt to care for others them and stand-up for your friends when they need your help, just like when you tried to dash upstairs to save Cinderella when you thought she was in danger."

"But...but I still look frightening," said the wolf. "How do I make friends with this scary-looking face?"

"What's important is not one's expression but one's inner soul, as one cannot change one's appearance," responded Lily LaLac wisely. "It's true that people will be afraid of you at first due to your appearance, nevertheless after knowing you better, they will find your gentle, loving side. You don't have to befriend everyone, only those who care to understand your inner soul are worthy of being your friend. You should feel content that you already have such great friends." Lily LaLac said as she pointed at the scarecrow, Mr. Knight and Cinderella.

After hearing Lily LaLac's wise words, they all fell into a deep contemplation.

「可是，我不覺得自己聰明啊！」稻草人答道。

「這是件好事，」神仙教母說。「真的有智慧的人，不會輕易地滿足現況，會找出自己的缺點，並且加以修正。」

聽完神仙教母的一番話，稻草人便陷入了沉思。

After meeting Cinderella's grandmother Lily LaLac, who was also her fairy godmother, the group of friends were surprised to hear that their wishes have already come true.

"Scarecrow," continued Lily LaLac whilst addressing the astonished scarecrow. "Through this voyage in search of the great wizard Ali Buda, you have developed intelligence and wisdom by learning to think of ways to resolve the problems you have encountered. Thus, your wish has already come true, you are now intelligent and wise."

"But...but I don't feel intelligent and wise," replied the scarecrow. 

"Well, that's a good sign," answered Lily LaLac. "Real wise men won't be completely content of oneself. They will acknowledge their deficiencies and strive to correct them."

Upon hearing Lily LaLac's words, the scarecrow fell into a deep contemplation.

灰姑娘和僞巫師阿里布達道謝後，便沿著他所說的路線前往灰姑娘的祖母～莉莉拉拉的新家。經過了大約半天的行程，大夥很快地來到了莉莉拉拉在森林裡的家。

「哇～老婆婆的新家好漂亮喔！」大野狼看著眼前的維多利亞式別墅讚嘆道。

「等等～這裡不就離三個小矮人的木屋很近嗎？那裡居然離阿里布達的城堡這麼近！」灰姑娘說。

「你的意思是說：鼎鼎大名的金磚路並不是前往阿里布達城堡最近的路嗎？」稻草人問道。

「沒錯！」灰姑娘說。「而且我一開始就可以直接來這裡，根本不用繞遠路！」

After thanking the fake wizard Ali Buda, who had formerly been a magician, Cinderella and her friends left the castle and followed the wizard's direction in search for Cinderella's grandmother, whose name was Lily LaLac, according to the wizard. 

After around half a day's walking, they finally arrived at the little house in the forest that belonged to Lily LaLac.

"I can see why she moved out of the wooden cottage," remarked the wolf thoughtfully as he looked on at the beautiful Victorian villa in front of them. 

"Wait a minute!" Cinderella suddenly exclaimed, "Isn't this villa not far from the wooden cottage where I met the three little dwarves when I first entered this forest? I didn't know it was that close to the wizard Ali Buda's castle!"

"Does this mean that the Golden Brick Road is not the nearest road to Ali Buda's castle?" enquired the scarecrow.

"Yes! And I could have just gone to grandma's house in the first place instead of wasting so much time!" responded Cinderella. "OMG! What have I been doing?"

當灰姑娘發現偉大的巫師阿里布達的真面目後，她趕緊通報夥伴們。大夥趕到了現場，直擊翹鬍子紅西裝男正在吃飯。

「你是誰？你到底對真正的巫師做了什麼？」頭腦簡單的稻草人質問道。

「吼～你還聽不懂啊？他就是巫師本尊！只是，他不會魔法！」灰姑娘解釋道。

大野狼開始對著西裝男露處張牙舞爪的兇惡表情，害僞巫師嚇得縮在沙發上。

「你們可能不認識我。但我曾經是紅遍一時的魔術師～白強恩，」偽巫師解釋道。

「怪不得，看你有那麼點兒眼熟！」灰姑娘說。「我小時候最愛看你的節目了！每這星期六晚上，我總是會和我媽媽一起觀看你的魔術表演。」

「你如果真的是那個有名的魔術師，你在這裡幹嘛？」稻草人問道。

「說來慚愧！有一次，我不小心露出了馬腳，讓大家都發現我的伎倆。我無法忍受這樣的恥辱，所以決定引退，並從此隱居森林。」魔術師答道。

那你又是如何變成偉大的巫師阿里布達呢？」這次換騎士發問道。

「我來到森林後，發現自己不僅一無所有，還無依無靠，正垂頭喪氣時，發現了一間小木屋，裡面住著一位善良的老婆婆。」魔術師說。

「那一定就是我阿嬤！」灰姑娘喊道。

「我知道那位老婆婆，她人真的很好！」大野狼附和道。

「他看我無家可歸，於是便收留了我幾天，」魔術師繼續解釋道。「那時的我生無可戀，曾經想過要結束自己的生命。是那位老婆婆鼓勵我，並給我希望。她告訴我，在森林的深處有一座廢棄的城堡，如果真的沒地方住，可以住在那裡。起初，我也不想就這樣與世隔絕。所以，我剛開始都會表演魔術給附近的村民們看。因為村民們沒見過什麼世面，被我的魔術騙得一唬一愣地，於是便開始封我為『巫師』。被誇獎的我一時得意忘形，突然有了個主意。我便不再辯解我不是巫師的事實，並開始以傾聽大家的煩惱，並幫他們解決問題維生。因為村民們的問題都不怎麼困難，所以大部份我都很容易能夠解決，我的名聲也漸漸擴大。我原本是想著：只要沒有人看見我真正的身份，就不會有人認出我，以及拆穿我的謊言。直到那個愛管閒事的胖女孩闖進我的房間為止！」魔術師指著灰姑娘說。

「真的很抱歉，我不是故意愛管閒事的！」灰姑娘道歉道。「我只是被食物的香味吸引過來的！」

「等等，所以外面那顆漂浮的巨頭也是你的魔術之一？」騎士問道。

「沒錯！」魔術師說。「那顆巨頭只不過是我把氣球灌了氫氣後，使它能漂浮在空中罷了！聲音也是我用語音過濾器，透過麥克風及音響指造出來的！」

「那站在城堡外的那兩個巨人呢？」稻草人問道。「那些總假不了了吧？」

「他們是真的巨人！」巫師說。「他們之前在一位女巫那裡工作，不過自從女巫去另一座城堡看守一位在沈睡的公主後，巨人就失業了。於是，他們來我這兒求職，我正好缺人看守城門，於是我就錄用了他們。」

「那我們的願望呢？」騎士失望地問道。「如果你不是真的巫師，那要怎麼幫我們達成心願呢？」

「抱歉，看來我無法替你們達成心願。」巫師搖搖頭說。「你們的願望太抽象以及不切實際了～勇氣、智慧和友誼都不是別人能夠送給你們的！好了，還有問題嗎？如果沒有問題的話，我要繼續用餐了！都是你們，害得我的食物都要涼了！」

「等等，我還有一個問題。」灰姑娘說。「你知道那個曾經幫助你的老婆婆現在住在哪裡嗎？她已經沒有住在那間小木屋裡了。」

「這個我就知道了！」魔術師說。「她在搬家前告訴我新的住址，讓我在失落時可以隨時去找她。」

「真假？你可以給我她的住址嗎？」灰姑娘懇求道。

「沒問題！只要你不要再打擾我吃飯就好！」魔法師開玩笑的說。「說不定，她能夠幫助你的朋友達成心願喔！」
