Playmobil Fairy Tales: The Adventures of Cinderella-20

After Cinderella has discovered the real identity of the great wizard Ali Buda to be merely an ordinary man speaking into a microphone, her friends rushed into the room.

"Who are you and what did you do to the real wizard?" demanded the simple-minded scarecrow. 

"No, he is the real wizard, but he's a fraud," elucidated Cinderella. 

The wolf started snarling at the man in the red suit, which made him so frightened that he curled up in his luxurious velvet armchair and promised to tell them everything if only the wolf would stop snarling at him.

"You might not know me, indeed, very few people do. I am.....or was a comedy magician named John White," said the man with whiskers. 

"No wonder I thought you looked familiar," exclaimed Cinderella in amazement. "I loved your shows as a child and I used to watch your live broadcasted shows every Saturday night with my mama."

"If you were a famous comedy magician on TV, then what are you doing here?" enquired the scarecrow. 

"After I performed a trick incorrectly on stage whilst on live broadcast, causing my secret tricks to be revealed, I couldn't stand the humiliation, so I decided to hide myself in this forest," answered the former magician. 

"Then, how did you become the great wizard Ali Buda?" queried Mr. Knight. 

"After I arrived in the forest, I discovered that I was friendless and had nowhere to go when I discovered a little wooden cottage with a thatched roof, wherein lived a benevolent old lady," explained the wizard. 

"That must've been my grandmother!" exclaimed Cinderella.

"I know that old lady, she was really nice," added the wolf.

"After seeing me wandering around in the forest with nowhere to go, she took me in for some days," continued Mr. White. "At that time, I was so depressed that I thought about ending my miserable life, but the kind-hearted old lady encouraged me and gave me hope. She told me that there was an abandoned castle deep inside the forest and that I could stay there if I wanted to."

"So, you moved in to this very castle and led a life isolation?" queried the scarecrow. 

"Not at first," responded the wizard. "At first, I began performing some of my old tricks to the residents nearby. Those people were so isolated from this world that they didn't know me and couldn't have known my fatal failure. The residents were so amazed by my tricks that they started calling me a wizard. Extremely flattered by the name, I had an idea. I went along with that name and started to make a living by listening to the people's troubles and helping them solve these troubles by my 'magic'. Surprisingly, I was able to solve most of their problems easily, which was how I became so famous around here. As long as no one sees my true identity, no one will be able to recognise me! Or so I thought until that meddling girl barged in and discovered my secret." The magician said as he pointed at Cinderella. 

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to meddle," shrugged Cinderella apologetically. "I was only attracted by the smell of food."

"Wait, so the gigantic floating head in the throne room outside is just one of your tricks?" questioned Mr. Knight.

"Yes, that's right!" The wizard sighed. "That was just a large balloon that I inflated with helium, which was what caused it to float. And the voice was just another one o' my old tricks of adding a filter to the microphone so my voice would sound different."

"How about the two trolls guarding the gate to this castle?" asked the scarecrow. "Surely, that cannot be fake, too?"

"Nope, they're real," replied the wizard. "They once worked for a witch, but they lost their job after the witch moved to a castle in order to guard a sleeping princess. The only way I could solve their problem was by offering them a post as guards at my castle's gate."

"Wait, how about our wishes?" questioned Mr. Knight. "If you aren't a real wizard, then how are you going to grant us our wishes?"

"Well, I'm afraid I cannot help you much at all," responded the wizard. "Your wishes are too abstract - courage, wisdom and friendship! Those aren't things I can simply give you."

"Right, any more questions?" demanded the wizard after a pause of disappointment from the group. "If not, I shall get back to my food, which is starting to turn cold."

"Wait, just one last question," said Cinderella. "Do you know where the old lady that you met who was living in the little cottage moved to? She no longer lives in that wooden cottage."

"Yes, indeed I do," replied the former magician. "She told me her new address after she decided to move and told me to visit her in case I have any depressing thoughts again."

"OMG, could you give me her new address?" pleaded Cinderella eagerly. 

"Of course, anything to stop your questions so I can get back to my lunch," answered the wizard jokingly. "Who knows? She might be able to help you with achieving your wishes too," said the wizard, looking at the scarecrow, Mr. Knight and the wolf.

就在大家不知道該說什麼時，灰姑娘聞到了一股濃濃的食物香味。餓壞了的灰姑娘不由自主地沿著香味走去。

「灰姑娘，你要去哪裡呀？」騎士問道。「別把我們丟在這兒！」

「別擔心，我去去就回！」灰姑娘答道。

正當大野狼要反對時，稻草人說：「沒事兒，讓她去吧！咱們待在這兒，先輪流和巫師說咱們的心願。等到咱們說完了，我想灰姑娘應該也差不多回來了。」

於是，由稻草人開始，他們便一一娓娓道來自己的故事以及願望。灰姑娘跟著香味來到了另一間房間。「香味就是從這兒傳出來的！」她心想。

Suddenly, just when everyone was undecided upon who should speak first or how to express their wishes in words, Cinderella smelled a strong scent of food floating into the throne room. 

Cinderella, who was always hungry, immediately began to follow the smell of food. 

"Ms. Cinderella, where are you going?" enquired Mr. Knight. "Pray, don't leave us alone here with this gigantic head!"

"It's okay," responded Cinderella, still pursuing the smell. "You can stay here, I will be back shortly."

The wolf was about to protest, but the scarecrow intervened. 

"It's alright, let her be," said the scarecrow. "In the meantime, we shall take it in turns to express our wishes to the wizard, and I believe that by the time we have finished, Cinderella will have returned."

Thus, commencing with the scarecrow, the group of friends began to recount their stories to the wizard Ali Buda. Cinderella, on the other hand, was led through a curtained door into an antechamber, and found herself to be standing in front of a half-opened small, wooden door with a metal lock.

"The smell must be coming from inside," concluded Cinderella.

灰姑娘等人擊敗了西國魔女後，繼續沿著金磚路前往傳說中的偉大巫師阿里布達的城堡。

數日後，他們終於來到了金磚路的盡頭。映入眼簾的景象是一座雄偉的石頭城堡。有兩個巨人守著城門～一個是藍色的皮膚、另一個則是綠色的皮膚。一看見巨人，膽小的騎士立刻開始顫抖了起來。

「別怕！他們不會對我們怎樣的！」灰姑娘說畢後便走向巨人問道：「請問，這裡是阿里布達巫師的城堡嗎？」

藍巨人點了點頭後問道：「你們造訪的目的是什麼？」

「我們想見見巫師，請他幫我們達成願望！」灰姑娘答道。

「歡迎！」兩個巨人說完，城門就緩緩地開了。一位女僕出現後，便帶著他們穿過花園，來到放置寶座的房間。

After Cinderella and her group of friends friends had 'destroyed' the Wicked Witch Mrs. Ouest by Cinderella emptying a pot of Taiwanese Oolong tea on her face, they continued their journey along the Golden Brick Road in search of the legendary Wizard Ali Buda.

"What day is it today?" enquired Cinderella one day, after seemingly countless nights spent in the forest since she had left home. "I wonder if it's been a week since I've left home. It felt like a year has gone by already."

"Indeed, it is hard to tell the time living in this forest," answered Mr. Knight after some deep contemplation. 

"Well, according to my calculations, I've only met you for four days," replied the scarecrow after counting on his fingers. "So, it cannot possibly be a week since you've left home."

Suddenly, the group of friends noticed that they've reached the end of the Golden Brick Road and at the end stood a large stone castle, the gate of which was guarded by two aggressive trolls. One of the trolls had blue skin and the skin of the other was green and both of which had a weapon in its hand. The cowardly knight immediately started trembling at the sight of the gigantic trolls, which were twice his height, and hid behind Cinderella for protection. 

"Oh, quit trembling," snapped Cinderella impatiently at the knight. "I'm sure they'll do us no harm."

Then, she asked the troll on the left with the blue skin: "Erm, excuse me. Is this the castle of the great wizard Ali Buda?" 

The blue-skinned troll gently nodded its head and replied with a deep, booming voice louder than thunder. "What is the purpose of your visit?" 

"We're here to see the wizard to see if he can grant us our wishes," responded Cinderella. 

"Welcome," thundered the troll as the cumbersome metal gate of the castle gradually opened. A maid, who was waiting behind the gate, led them across a garden into the castle and entered a large throne room.

一聽到西國魔女不打算守信用，灰姑娘立刻聯想到范德川女士，於是便當場暴怒道：「你竟敢食言而肥！你這個臭老太婆！」

灰姑娘一氣之下，便隨手拿了一壺烏龍茶，往女巫的臉上一潑。

這時，西國魔女發出淒厲的尖叫聲，並用著手摀住臉、啜泣道：「不！我的妝容、我的美貌、我的法力！」

「你別在那無病呻吟了！我根本沒對你做任何事！」灰姑娘一邊說，一邊將女巫的手拉開。這時，她才驚見女巫的臉頓時變成了皺巴巴的老人臉；就連頭髮都變成了灰白色。事實上，女巫的年齡已經和森林差不多老了，只是她用法力讓自己顯得年輕。

「你看你做了什麼好事！」魔女大罵道。「妳明知道我怕茶，因為茶會把我所有的魔力都弄不見，妳⋯⋯妳還故意把茶潑到我身上！」

「我怎麼會知道妳怕茶呢？你又沒告訴我！」灰姑娘答道。「況且，你既然不喝茶，幹嘛擺一壺在桌上？」

「那是給客人喝的！」西國魔女歇斯底里地大喊道。「現在給我滾！妳吃垮了我的店，還毀了我的人生！你趕緊給我出去～我再也不想再見到妳了！」

Upon hearing that the wicked witch Mrs. Ouest was not going to keep her promise, Cinderella's temper rose again. 

"How dare you break your own promise, you heartless old woman," snapped Cinderella, who remembered how Ms. Vandertramp once broke her promise to reward Cinderella with some cranberry cheese cake, which was Cinderella's favourite dessert, if she was able to stick to her diet plans for the whole week. In her utmost fury, Cinderella grabbed a jar of Taiwanese Oolong tea, which was cooling on a stove beside her, and emptied its contents on the wicked witch's face, wetting her from head to foot.

Instantaneously, Mrs. Ouest gave a deafening, shrill scream as if in agony, and then, as Cinderella stared at her in amazement, the evil enchantress covered her face and began sobbing. "Oh no! My make-up, my beauty, my magical powers!"

"What's wrong with you? Stop faking, I didn't do anything to you," said Cinderella as she rushed towards the wicked witch and ruthlessly tore away the witch's now wrinkly hands which were covering up her face. Only then did Cinderella suddenly realise that the wicked woman's appearance was completely transformed from an attractive lady into the wrinkled face of an old woman with grey hair. In fact, the wicked witch was as old as the forest, but her vanity prompted her to enhance her appearance by using her magical powers.

"Look what you've done, you violent girl!" screamed Mrs. Ouest in a despairing voice as she caressed her wrinkled face with her hands. "You knew that I was afraid of tea and it would wash away all my magical powers and, yet, you poured that pot of tea over my face! You....you naughty girl!"

"Ahahahaha!" Cinderella broke into a violent fit of laughter as she couldn't control herself any longer. "How should I know you're afraid of tea? If so, why did you put a pot of Taiwanese Oolong tea on the stove for?"

"They're for the guests, you stupid girl!" wailed Mrs. Ouest desperately. "You've ruined my shop and my life! Now, get out! I don't want to see you or your silly friends ever again! GET LOST!!"

轉眼間，西國太太準備的一桌豐盛佳餚就被灰姑娘統統吃光了！

「西國太太，你還有吃的嗎？我好餓啊！」大胃王灰姑娘說。

「當然有啦！等等喔！」邪惡的魔女一邊暗自偷笑著灰姑娘終於上當了，一邊端出另一桌甜點。桌上有聖代、薄荷冰淇淋、草莓口味的甜甜圈，還有巧克力餅乾。

「不如，咱們來打個賭！」灰姑娘一邊啃著巧克力餅乾，一邊淡定的說。「別以為我看不出你的詭計！」

「你在說什麼呀？我怎麼都聽不懂呢？」奸詐的女巫裝無辜地說。

「你以為我沒讀過『糖果屋』這個童話故事嗎？」灰姑娘邊吃邊說。「依我看哪，你跟那個糖果屋裡面的壞巫婆一樣，想把我養胖再把我吃掉，對吧？」

「不⋯⋯不是這樣的！人家我只是個普通的婦人罷了！」西國太太支支吾吾地說。

「好了，別想騙我了！」灰姑娘回答道。「我進門後就看見你用魔法把餐廳的門關上了。其實妳一直都在店裡，只是用隱身術將自己藏了起來，對吧？」

正當西國太太準備再隨便找個理由唐塞時，灰姑娘不耐煩地繼續說：「不如我們來做個交易吧！如果我可以把你店裡的所有甜品都吃光，你就得放走我和我的朋友。假如我做不到，我就甘願當你的晚餐，但是條件是你必須先放我的朋友們走！」

起初，邪惡魔女很不情願和灰姑娘做交易，然而，她心想：「哼～這個女孩兒再能吃也不可能把店裡的甜點都吃光吧？況且，女巫是不用信守承諾的！呵呵呵～」於是，女巫終究答應了灰姑娘的要求。

In the blink of an eye, Cinderella had finished the table full of food that was served by Mrs. Ouest.

"Do you have anymore food, Mrs. Ouest? I'm still starving," enquired Cinderella, whose appetite was not so easy to fulfill.

"Yes, of course, my dear," answered the wicked witch, delighted that Cinderella had eaten all of the food which was intended to fatten her up so the witch could have a delicious supper by cooking Cinderella.

The wicked witch quickly served another table of food, including sundaes, peppermint ice creams, strawberry-flavoured doughnuts and a plate full of chocolate chip cookies.

"Let's make a bet," said Cinderella calmly, as she was slowly munching on the sweet chocolate chip cookies. "Don't assume that I am stupid enough to not notice what you're up to."

The pretentious witch looked at Cinderella innocently. "My darling, what are you talking about?"

"Do you think I haven't read the story of 'Hansel and Gretel'?" responded Cinderella, eyeing the witch suspiciously. "I can tell that you are just like the wicked witch in there. You're trying to fatten me up so you can cook me for supper. Am I not right?"

"No way, I'm.... I'm just a normal woman," stuttered Mrs. Ouest, surprised that Cinderella was clever enough to discover her secret.

"Don't try and fool me," responded Cinderella. "I saw you using magic to close the door of the patisserie after we came in. You were in here the whole time, but you simply used magic to make yourself invisible, right?"

Just when Mrs. Ouest was about to deny Cinderella's accusations, Cinderella continued. "Let's make a deal. If I'm able to finish every single pastry that you have to offer in your shop, then you set me and my friends free. If I am unable to do so, then I can become your supper, but you have to set my friends free."

At first, the sinister witch was reluctant to agree to the conditions set out by Cinderella. Nevertheless, after some serious contemplation, she thought to herself. "What are the chances that this girl can eat up all my pastries? Very low! I have so much food in this shop! Plus, I can always break my promise." Thus, the witch finally agreed in the end.

「歡迎光臨我的甜點店！」

正當灰姑娘忙著吃著手中的台灣太陽餅時，他們聽到了一個尖銳的聲音說。大夥兒轉身一忘，赫然發現一名身穿黑色的高大女人用著詭異的笑容看著他們。

「很抱歉我們沒經過您的同意就吃了起來，」有禮貌的稻草人趕緊說。「我們一直喊著，可是都沒人出現。」

「大家別擔心，」黑衣女子回答道。「我是西國太太，這間甜點店的老闆娘！」

「可是，外面不是寫著『餐廳』嗎？」騎士問道。

「是的，又是餐廳，又是甜點店，不行嗎？」西國泰太不耐煩得說。後來發現自己語氣不太好，變趕緊說：「誰肚子餓啦？跟著我到樓上有更多美味的佳餚喔！」

正當灰姑娘準備跟著西國太太上樓時，稻草人小聲地說：「我覺得那個女人怪怪的，灰姑娘先上去，我們在樓下等。如果發現什麼不對勁，可以上樓去救她！」

"Hello everyone, welcome to my patisserie!" 

Suddenly, just when Cinderella was busily stuffing her mouth with a delicious suncake, a famous traditional Taiwanese dessert with maltose fillings, they heard a shrill voice say. Only when they turned around did they pursue a tall, stout woman dressed in black, with heavy make-up and a veil over her face, standing behind the counter, smiling at them with a bizarre, lopsided smile. 

"We are so sorry for eating your dessert without your permission," apologised the polite scarecrow. "We kept calling but no one answered us."

"Do not worry, my dear friends," answered the woman in black with her shrill voice. "I am Mrs. Ouest, the owner of this little patisserie....."

"I thought it said 'restaurant' on the outside," interrupted Mr. Knight. 

"Well, yes, let's say it's a restaurant and a patisserie," replied Mrs. Ouest, with a change of tone, apparently having lost her patience. Nevertheless, as if noticing her attitude, she quickly checked herself and changed back to her normal tone. "Now, who's hungry? Follow me, there are more delicious food upstairs!" Mrs. Ouest said, motioning them up the stairs.

"Oh, I'm starving," said Cinderella, starting to follow Mrs. Ouest up the stairs. 

Just when Mr. Knight was about to say that he was hungry, too, the scarecrow grabbed his arm and whispered quietly: "I think there's something fishy with that woman there. We should stay down here so we can save Cinderella if anything happens to her."

Upon hearing the scarecrow's words, the knight nodded and replied. "No, I'm not hungry. I'll just stay here and wait for Cinderella to finish."

四個好朋友邊沿著金磚路走，邊聊著天。

「我很好奇誒～大野狼，你從什麼時候開始就試圖和三個小矮人做朋友了？」灰姑娘問道。

「從他們搬進小木屋後啊！」大野狼回覆道。「我認識原屋主～一位善良的老太太。有天，我聽她說她打算把小木屋賣給三個小矮人。於是，我便開始計畫著要如何跟他們交朋友。可是誰知道？他們一看到我就怕得不敢開門了！哪還有可能交上朋友呢！」

「我不怪他們，因為你看起來真的很可怕呀！」老實的騎士說。

「等等，妳剛剛說你認識小木屋的原屋主？」灰姑娘問道。

「是啊！她是位善良的老太太，」大野狼答道。「有次，我正被一個覬覦我身上皮毛的獵人追殺時，撞見了那位老太太，她正在花園裡澆花。老太太得知了我的情況後，一點都不怕我，反而還同意讓我躲進小木屋裡以便躲避獵人的追趕。」

「為什麼老太太不怕你呢？」稻草人問道。

「我也不曉得。她很認真著我的眼睛，便知道我不是在說謊，」大野狼說。

「你知道後來那位老太太搬到哪兒了嗎？」灰姑娘問道。

「我也不清楚，」大野狼搖著頭說。「她是我唯一的朋友。所以知道她要搬走後，我有問她說要搬去哪兒，我好去敗訪她。可是，每當我問到這時，她都只是搖著頭、笑而不答。」

突然，他們聽到了一聲巨響。

「天哪！那是什麼聲音呀？」騎士嚇得發抖說。「該不會是這森林裡的野獸要出現了吧？」

「別擔心！」灰姑娘答道。「那是我的肚子在叫啦！我從三個小矮人給我吃那些麵包後，一直到現在都沒吃東西了！」

「你們瞧兒！那兒有一間餐廳呢！」稻草人邊說邊指著一間在不遠處的餐館說。「不如咱們進去問問看有賣什麼！我是不會餓啦～我只要一吃東西，食物就會從我的稻草的縫隙裡掉出來！」

The four friends strolled along the Golden Brick Road merrily as they chatted away. 

"How long have you been trying to make friends with the three little dwarves?" enquired Cinderella inquisitively. 

"Since they moved into the little wooden cottage," answered the Wolf. "I've heard from the previous owner of the cottage, a benevolent old lady, that she was going to sell the cottage to three little dwarves. So, I thought I should say hello to my new neighbours. But, who knows? They probably thought I was trying to eat them up or something and didn't even dare to come out."

"I wouldn't blame them," joked Mr. Knight. "I mean...your expression is pretty terrifying."

"Wait a minute, did you say you knew the previous owner of the little cottage?" queried Cinderella.

"Yes, she's such a nice old lady," responded the Wolf nodding its head. "Once, I was being pursued by an evil hunter who wanted to kill me to obtain my fur. I bumped into the old lady, who was in her garden watering the flowers, and I told her my situation. She was so kind that she let me into her house to escape from the hunter."

"Wasn't the old lady afraid of you? Did she not doubt your words?" enquired the scarecrow. 

"No, she looked into my eyes and it seemed like she could tell that I wasn't lying," answered the Wolf. 

"Do you know where the old lady has moved to?" questioned Cinderella.

"No," replied the Wolf shaking its head. "She was my only friend here, so naturally I was anxious to know where she will be moving to so I can visit her. But, every time I asked, she merely smiled and shook her head."

Suddenly, they heard a loud, grumbling noise. 

"What was that?" enquired the cowardly knight, trembling. "I hope it wasn't some wild beast howling."

"Don't worry," answered Cinderella. "It was only my stomach. I just noticed that I hadn't eaten anything since the three little dwarves offered me those pastries." 

"Look, there seems to be a restaurant yonder," said the scarecrow as he pointed at a green building with a sign saying 'Delicious Restaurant', located some distance in front of them along the golden brick road. "Why not let's go in and see if they offer any food. Not that I need any, for if I eat anything, it'll just come out of my straw."

灰姑娘眼睜睜地看著大野狼朝著自己飛奔過來，被嚇得束手無策。膽小的騎士和稻草人都趕緊逃命，直到他們轉身發現灰姑娘並沒有跟上。

「灰姑娘小姐，快點兒啊！大野狼要追上來了！」稻草人喊道。

就在灰姑娘心想自己即將變成大野狼的午餐時，她突然認出了眼前的大野狼，就是之前在三個小矮人的木屋外面遇到的那隻。

「吼～原來是你啊！」灰姑娘一想到大野狼是如何欺負三個小矮人後，便火冒三丈，所有的害怕都消失了。「你那時跑得太快，我還來不及跟你好好算帳呢！」

膽小的騎士與稻草人眼睜睜看著灰姑娘彎下腰，順手拿起了一根樹枝朝著大野狼的方向走去。

「灰姑娘，別這樣！妳這樣只會激怒大野狼的！」騎士先生一邊全身顫抖一邊喊道。

然而，大野狼突然失去了之前的兇猛表情，夾著尾巴說：「我真的很抱歉，小姑娘。我不是故意要嚇你的。我只是想和你們交個朋友！」

「哼～誰會信你的話啊？有人交朋友會這麼兇嗎？」灰姑娘答道。

After perceiving the aggressive-looking wolf gradually approaching her, Cinderella was so shocked such that she became rooted to the spot and couldn't move herself away no matter how hard she wished to at that moment. The cowardly knight and the scarecrow ran away as fast as they could without waiting for Cinderella when they suddenly noticed that Cinderella did not follow them. 

"Make haste, Ms. Cinderella!" shouted the scarecrow. 

Just when Cinderella thought to herself that she would soon become the supper of the wolf, she suddenly recognized the wolf to be the one that she encountered at the three little dwarves' wooden cottage.

"OMG, it's YOU!" exclaimed Cinderella furiously as she remembered how the big bad wolf was trying to break into Kenny, Benny and Lenny's cottage. "I know you're up to no good, you mischievous creature! Looks like I need to teach you a lesson." 

The cowardly knight and the scarecrow looked on in horror as Cinderella bent down and picked up a twig lying on the golden brick road and started waving it at the wolf as if trying to beat it. 

"Stop it, Cinderella! You'll only anger it even more!" exclaimed Mr. Knight, who was so frightened that he began trembling from head to toe. 

Without warning, the wolf lost its aggressive expression and drooped its head with its tail between its hind legs. 

"I beg your pardon, young lady." To everyone including Cinderella's astonishment, the wolf spoke. "I didn't want to frighten you at all. I only wanted to make friends with you."

"Who would snarl at people when they're trying to make friends?" snapped Cinderella, who was still angry, as she waved the twig threateningly.

「你說公主十六歲時就被紡梭機扎到，而且是十年前的事？」稻草人邊走邊好奇地問騎士。「那這樣推算下來，公主不是今年已經26歲了。你看起來頂多二十來歲，不覺得公主對你來說年齡太大了嗎？」

「不是這麼算的～」騎士答道。「女巫的詛咒也將城堡裡的時間靜止了，所以王宮裡的人都凍齡了。當公主被刺到時，她十六歲，我才十歲。經過十年，現在我二十歲了，公主還是只有十六歲。所以，我現在比公主大四歲。」

「換句話說，就算公主沉睡了一百年，她醒來後還會是十六歲？」灰姑娘問道。

「沒錯～至少我聽到村民們是這麼說的！」騎士說。

「真難想像一百年後醒來發現這個世界都不一樣了，只有我沒改變！那會是多麼大的衝擊啊！」稻草人說。

突然，他們發現金磚路又再次變得狹窄，並且他們得經過一個吊橋，穿越一條河才能繼續沿著金磚路走。

After encountering the knight who also wanted to see the wizard in order to gain courage, Cinderella, the Scarecrow and the cowardly knight strolled along the Golden Brick Road, chatting away merrily. 

"Did you say that the princess was sixteen when she got pricked by the spindle and that happened ten years ago?" asked the talkative scarecrow. After receiving a nod of affirmation from the knight, he continued. "Then, the princess must be 26 years old now? You look like you're around twenty years old. Wouldn't the princess be too old for you?"

"Well, nay," answered the knight. "The curse has frozen time inside the castle, so everyone that's asleep from the curse will remain the same age. I was merely ten years old when the princess got pricked by the spindle and now I am twenty, so I will be four years older than the princess." 

"So, even if the princess has slept for one hundred years, she'd still be sixteen when she wakes up?" queried Cinderella. 

"Yup, that's right!" said the knight. "At least that's what I've heard from the villagers. I mean, I've never seen the princess since she fell asleep, so I wouldn't know."

"Wow, I wouldn't want to wake up one hundred years later only to find that the world has changed but I haven't," contemplated Cinderella philosophically. "It must be such a strange feeling."

Suddenly, they noticed that the Golden Brick Road was becoming narrower when they perceived that in front of them was a wooden bridge which was the only path that could lead them across a murky river inhabited by aggressive crocodiles.

灰姑娘走向站在一旁的騎士說：「不好意思，騎士先生。請問這裡是巫師阿里布達的城堡嗎？」

突然，騎士開始全身顫抖，並喃喃自語地說著聽不懂的話。

「你為什麼在發抖？你是不是會冷啊？」好奇地灰姑娘問道。

「妳⋯⋯該不會⋯⋯是把這座城堡⋯⋯下了詛咒⋯⋯的女巫吧？」騎士用著顫抖的聲音說。

「女巫？咒語？你到底在說些什麼呀？」灰姑娘聽得一頭霧水。「我們不過是普通人，想要沿著金磚路找到傳說中的巫師阿里布達罷了！沒禮貌～難道我看起來像女巫嗎？」

聽到了灰姑娘的一番話後，騎士終於放心了。「我實在很抱歉，我並沒有惡意。只不過我太膽小了，不敢和陌生人說話。不，這並不是巫師阿里布達的城堡。事實上，我本人也想去見見那位偉大的巫師！」

Cinderella approached the knight who was standing by the gate of the large stone castle and said: "Um, excuse me, Mr. Knight. Is this the great wizard Ali Buda's castle?"

Without warning, the knight started trembling all over and muttered some indistinguishable words. 

"OMG, why are you shivering, Mr. Knight? Are you cold or something?" enquired the bewildered Cinderella. 

"Are....are you the..... the wicked witch that......that casted her spell on.....on this castle?" stuttered the knight, trembling with fear as his teeth chattered.

"What wicked witch? What spell?" queried Cinderella, who was beginning to lose her patience. "Seriously, stop talking nonsense, ok? We're just normal people following the Golden Brick Road to see the wizard Ali Buda, who was said to be living in a castle. Then, we came across this castle and was wondering whether this is it. That's all!" 

Only after hearing Cinderella's reassuring words did the knight slowly stop trembling and gradually was able to speak up. 

"I....I'm so sorry for angering you, miss," apologised the knight. "I am too cowardly that I am always afraid of strangers. Nay, this ain't the wizard's castle, but I guess I'm in luck today, as I'd like to see the wizard myself."

好心的灰姑娘走到稻草人旁邊，並將綁著他的手的繩子鬆綁。

「這樣舒服多了！真是太謝謝你了，小姑娘！」稻草人感謝道。

「你是怎麼會被綁在這裡呀？」灰姑娘好奇地問道。

「整件事情說來話長，」稻草人邊搖頭邊說。「在我被綁在這兒之前，我只不過是個平凡的稻草人，認真的在稻田裡工作。然而，我笨到分不清楚烏鴉和麻雀和雉雞，所以總是拼命地看到鳥就追。一天，我的主人正準備開槍獵捕一隻雉雞時，竟被我給追跑了。所以，他一氣之下就把我綁在這兒了！」

「真是個悲慘的故事呢！」灰姑娘說。「喔，對了，抱歉我忘了自我介紹。我的名字是欣蒂・史密斯，只是大家都叫我『灰姑娘』。我正沿著金磚路走，打算去尋找傳說中的阿里布達巫師，問他我阿嬤現在住在哪裡。」

「那真是太巧了！我剛好也要去找偉大的巫師！」稻草人說。「我要請他賜給我一顆腦，這樣我就不會再這麼笨了！」

「那咱倆可以一塊兒去呢！」灰姑娘高興地回答道。「我開始覺得一個人走挺寂寞的呢！」

Amused by the scarecrow that had asked for her help, Cinderella strolled towards the scarecrow and untied him from the branches of the forest trees.

"Phew~ That was so very much better. Thank you! Thank you so very much! I am so very much obliged to you!" The scarecrow thanked Cinderella true-heartedly.

"How did you even end up in that awkward position in the first place?" enquired the curious Cinderella. 

"That was a so very long story," replied the scarecrow, shaking his head. "Before I was tied here, I was just a so very normal scarecrow, standing on a field chasing away the crows. However, I was so very stupid that I couldn't distinguish between sparrows and pheasants and crows, so I ended up chasing every single bird I saw away. My master got so very angry when I chased away a pheasant, which he was about to shoot with his gun, so he took me here and abandoned me by tying me on a tree."

"Wow, that is such a sad story," replied Cinderella sympathetically. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Cindy Ella Smith, but everyone just calls me Cinderella. I'm going along the Golden Brick Road to meet the wizard Ali Buda to ask him where my grandmother lives."

 "I see....um....is it possible that you can do me another favour?" entreated the scarecrow earnestly. "Could you please take me along with you to the great wizard so I can beg him to give me a brain so I can gain intelligence and wisdom."

"Of course, I'd be glad to have a company," answered Cinderella. "I'm beginning to get lonely walking alone on this road."

灰姑娘吃完了小矮人準備的整桌的甜點後，便決定出發尋找傳說中的巫師阿里布達。

「妳確定妳不再多待個幾天嗎？」萊尼問道。

「在我反悔前，我得趕緊出發！」灰姑娘和三個小矮人道別後便離開了小木屋。灰姑娘渾然不知的是：范德川女士正躲在草叢後面靜靜地觀望著。

「強迫她是沒用的，因為這樣她只會更反感！」范德川女士想著。「我應該悄悄地跟蹤她，確保她安全，並且沒有闖禍。否則我到目前為止一切的努力都要付諸東流了！」

After finishing the entire table of pastries offered to her by the three little dwarves, Cinderella decided to set off on her journey in search of the legendary wizard Ali Buda. 

"Are you sure you don't want to stay for a few more days?" enquired the generous Lenny. "I mean... we won't mind having you here at all, will we?" Kenny and Benny agreed by shaking their heads. 

"No, I'd better head off now before I change my mind," answered Cinderella as she walked out of the wooden cottage and waved goodbye to the three little dwarves. 

Hiding behind some bushes unnoticed by everyone, Ms. Vandertramp was quietly observing Cinderella. 

"There's no point in stopping her forcefully as she will only retaliate," thought Ms. Vandertramp to herself. "I will follow her to make sure that she is safe and doesn't get into any scrapes. Otherwise, all my efforts will be in vain if something happens to Cinderella, resulting in me losing my right to her inheritance."

小矮人本尼忙著在修理被灰姑娘躺壞了的床鋪時，肯尼把美味的糕點從烤箱裡一一端出來。好久沒吃甜食的灰姑娘看得垂涎三尺：「我真的很感謝你們讓我暫時住下來，可是這不可能是長久的打算。你們眞的完全沒有頭緒我阿嬤到底搬到哪兒去了嗎？」灰姑娘邊吃邊問。

「我們真的不清楚，」肯尼搖著頭說。「但是，有一個人說不定能告訴你答案！」

「真假？誰呀？」灰姑娘問道。

「那就是偉大的巫師阿里布達。傳說中，他上知天文、下知地理，是位名符其實的『萬事通』。這種小問題應該難不倒他才對！」肯尼若有所思地一邊摸著他長長的鬍子，一邊說。

「看來，他是我唯一的希望了！」灰姑娘答道。「你們知道阿里布達住哪兒嗎？」

「傳說中，他住在森林深處的一座巨大的城堡裡。只要沿著金磚路走，就可以通往城堡。」萊尼小聲地說。

灰姑娘鎖定了未來的方向後，興高采烈地走向桌子，正想坐在一張小板凳上時突然停住了。「這板凳肯定承受不了我的體重！我看我還是別坐了，站著吃就好！」

Whilst Benny was busy fixing their little beds, which had collapsed under Cinderella's enormous weight, Kenny offered Cinderella a wide variety of pastries which he took out from the oven. Cinderella's mouth immediately started watering after perceiving delicious muffins, tasty apple pies and savoury tarts, which filled the small table.

"I am very much grateful for your generous offer of letting me stay here for as long as I like, but obviously that cannot constitute my long term plan, as I will probably break every single furniture before the first week is over," said Cinderella, laughing. "Are you absolutely clueless about where my grandmother could have moved to?" enquired Cinderella, who was desperate to find her grandmother.

"I'm sorry but we really have no idea," replied Kenny, shaking his head. "But I know of someone who might be able to tell you."

"Oh, really? Who is that?" queried Cinderella. 

"He is the Great Wizard Ali Buda," answered Kenny, caressing his long beard whilst in deep contemplation. "The legend has it that he knows about everything that there is to know in this universe, so he will probably be able to tell you where your grandmother lives."

"Wow! So, he's a know-it-all, huh?" responded Cinderella. "Well, it seems like he's my only hope now. Do you know where he lives?"

"The legend has it that he lives in a gigantic castle situated deep inside the forest," said Lenny, sinking his voice into a deep whisper. "Just follow the golden brick road in the forest and you won't miss the castle in which he lives."

"Okay, then, I'll follow the golden brick road to find the Wizard Ali Buda to ask him where my grandmother lives," concluded Cinderella merrily.

After settling upon a reasonable solution to her problem, Cinderella walked towards the wooden table and was about to grab a little stool to sit on and enjoy the sweet desserts when she checked herself and said: "I'd better not sit on these tiny stools lest I should break them!"

這時，另一位穿戴著藍色帽子的小矮人說話了：「我們的名字叫：肯尼、本尼和萊尼。我們大約十年前就住進這間小木屋了。是一位老太太把房子賣給我們的。」

「天哪！你說的那位老太太一定就是我阿嬤了！」灰姑娘說。「你們知到她現在搬到哪裡去了嗎？」

當肯尼搖了搖頭後，灰姑娘開始慌了，便開始啜泣了起來：「糟了！我現在該怎麼辦？我昨晚爲了逃離後母的魔掌離家出走，我本來要去投靠我阿嬤，可是現在根本找不到她！我該怎麼辦？我要是現在回家，那個女人一定會變本加厲，叫我做更多的家事的！」

三個小矮人看到灰姑娘楚楚可憐的樣子，並且為了報答她幫他們把大野狼趕走，便同意讓她暫時住下來。走進小木屋，灰姑娘看見三張可愛的小床，上面擺著柔軟的枕頭，房子的另一端則有一張樸實的木桌、一個爐灶，還有三張小椅子。

Upon hearing Cinderella's question, the dwarf on the right, who was wearing a blue hat, replied. "We are Kenny, Benny and Lenny," introduced Lenny. "We moved into this little cottage around ten years ago after an old lady sold it to us."

"OMG! That old lady must be my grandmother," interrupted Cinderella. "Do you know where she has moved to?"

Shaking his head, Kenny replied. "Unfortunately, we are uncertain whither the benevolent lady is gone."

"Oh no! What am I to do?" Suddenly, Cinderella felt a sense of hopelessness engulfing her and she began to sob. "I've left my house last night to run away from my wicked stepmother in search for my grandmother, but now I have no idea where she is. What am I to do? I cannot return to my own house as my evil stepmother is bound to continue torturing me by telling me to do those stupid house chores." 

Feeling extremely sorry for poor Cinderella, the three benevolent dwarves agreed to let her stay with them for as long as she needed to in order to thank her for chasing away the wolf. Upon entering the wooden cottage, Cinderella perceived a cosy little room, which was very simply furnished with three tiny beds with soft mattresses and comfortable looking pillows on one side of the room and a small wooden table with three little chairs and a stove on the opposite side.

突然，灰姑娘聽見了個爪子抓木板的聲音。她走近一看才赫然發現，原來是一隻大灰狼正凶猛地抓著小木屋的牆壁。

「天哪～大野狼要來把阿嬤吃掉了，就像童話故事裡『小紅帽』的劇情一樣！」灰姑娘心想。「不行，我得想想辦法。」

Suddenly, Cinderella heard a loud scratching noise. Only after she got closer to the wooden cottage did Cinderella realise the source of the sound. In fact, a large, grey wolf was fiercely scratching at the newly painted orange door of the wooden cottage whilst growling menacingly. 

"Oh my goodness, it's a big, bad wolf coming to eat grandma, just like in the fairy tale 'Little Red Riding Hood'," Cinderella thought to herself. "What should I do? I've gotta stop it before it starts attacking my poor, old grandmother!"

灰姑娘欣蒂一輩子都過慣了茶來伸手、飯來張口的優渥生活，直到她離家出走後才第一次感到絕望，不知自己該何去何從。這時，灰姑娘突然想起媽媽以前跟她說說過的話：「妳的外婆就住在那片森林裏。如果哪一天妳需要人陪伴，妳就去找她！」

「可是，我從來沒見過我阿嬤，我怎麼會知道她長什麼樣子啊？」灰姑娘心想。「啊，算了，不管他！我先走進森林裡，再沿路問人，看有沒有人可以幫我帶路。」

於是，下定決心後的灰姑娘便毅然決然地朝著森林的方向前進。

After furiously leaving the house, Cinderella was unsure where to go. All her life, Cinderella had led a life of luxury for eighteen years at home with very little to distress or vex her. Only now that she was forced into the outside world all by herself did she start to feel a sense of helplessness engulfing her. 

Then, Cinderella suddenly remembered her mother's words from her childhood: "Your grandmother lives in the forest yonder. If ever you feel in need of consolation, she's the person to go to!"

"But how do I know what my grandmother looks like if I've never seen her before?" wondered Cinderella. "Never mind! I shall head towards the forest and ask around. Who knows? Maybe someone will lead me to her." 

After arriving upon a reasonable conclusion, Cinderella walked resolutely towards the direction of the forest. Overhead, the sky was half crystalline, half misty, and the atmosphere was chill and vibrant with rich tension. High above, ringed all about with a sickly yellow glare, the sinking moon struggled in vain to escape from a pursuing cloud.

得知白馬王子的生日舞會的日期後，營養師范德川女士並開始與助理朵拉一起幫灰姑娘欣蒂擬定『瘦身計畫』。不僅灰姑娘的飲食作息都受到嚴格管控，灰姑娘每天的運動量也得增加一倍。

After receiving news of the exact date of Prince Charming's birthday ball, which was less than a month away, Ms. Vandertramp commenced to draw up a plan with her assistant Dora in order to transform Cinderella's figure. Not only did Cinderella have to stick to an absolutely strict diet, where the number of no-carb days in a week was increased from one day to two days, but also the amount of exercise Cinderella had to do per day was also doubled. 

"Don't you worry, Cinderella," said Ms. Vandertramp encouragingly. "If you stick to my plan, I'm sure you will be able to lose half of your current weight in no time. That way you will no longer be a fatty anymore!"

除了每天監控灰姑娘欣蒂的飲食作息外，營養師范德川女士還規定她要做運動：不僅得每天在跑步機上跑半小時，還要幫忙僕人們打掃家裡。

「適當的勞動也有助於減肥。」范德川女士和助理朵拉說。

有天，看著灰姑娘怨念的擦著地時，范德川女士心想：「不能一直強迫她做事，總有一天她會反抗的。看來，是時候給她一點動力了。」

In addition to keeping a strict control over Cinderella's dietary habits, Ms. Vandertramp also paid special attention to Cinderella's daily exercises. Not only did Cinderella have to run on the treadmill for half an hour a day, but also she was forced to help the servants clean the house. 

"Manual labour is also a good form of exercise," said Ms. Vandertramp to her assistant Dora, who took out her notebook again to take notes. 

"No, it's no use forcing Cinderella to do chores against her own will as she is likely to retaliate sooner or later." Looking at Cinderella's angry face whilst mopping the floor, Ms. Vandertramp thought to herself. "I have to give Cinderella some motivation."

史密斯先生立完遺書後便去世了。營養師范德川女士依照約定，與助理朵拉搬進了欣蒂的家。

「妳們是誰？在我家幹嘛？」欣蒂看見兩名陌生人提著行李在玄關時，生氣地問道。原來，史密斯先生臨終前還來不及和女兒溝通好就離世了。

范德川女士好聲好氣地向欣蒂解釋了整件事情的來龍去脈後，便說：「總而言之，現在就由我來管理妳一切的飲食與作息。我會盡我所能儘早讓妳瘦下來。」因為，欣蒂愈早嫁給王子，營養師得到的遺產金額也會愈多。

「好啦！站上這個磅秤，讓我看看你現在有多重！」

然而，當欣蒂站上去後，磅秤竟然立刻就壞掉了。

「哎呀呀，我的老天鵝啊！」營養師搖著頭說。「看來我們得換個更大的磅秤，還得立刻開始擬定作戰計畫了！」站在一旁的助理朵拉點點頭，並拿出筆記本開始寫字。

Not long after Mr. Smith had written his will, he died. Ms. Vandertramp, keeping her promise to Mr. Smith, moved in to Cinderella's house along with her assistant Dora, a slim, blond girl in her early twenties. 

"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" demanded Cinderella after perceiving a strange woman with a luggage appearing by the doorway. In fact, Mr. Smith did not have time to inform his daughter of the contents of his will.

After explaining patiently to Cinderella the contents of Mr. Smith's will and how it is related to her mission, Ms. Vandertramp said: "Cinderella, from now on, I will be in charge of your dietary habits and I will do my best in making you slim as soon as possible. Do you understand?" Since the earlier Cinderella marries the prince, the less she will spend out of her father's inheritance, and the more will remain for Ms. Vandertramp.

"Now step on that scale over there so I can understand what I will be dealing with," continued Ms. Vandertramp haughtily as she pointed at a scale nearby. 

After Cinderella stepped on the scale, the scale broke immediately, indicating her to be heavier than the 100kg limit. 

"Oh! Dear me," exclaimed Ms. Vandertramp shaking her head. "Looks like we will have to get a larger scale and start drawing up a dietary plan immediately." Dora only nodded as she took notes on a piece of paper.
